  • Hey everyone! I am back on Phase 2 after doing Phase 1 for 3 weeks. It's great to be back reading all the boards...I really miss the camraderie and support. I've been on the beach on and off for a couple of years, most recently a little over a year ago for my wedding. Since then it's been a year of travelling and eating and have certainly found the newlywed 25. Looking forward to getting down a few sizes for my 20 high school reunion in November.

Glad to be back and look foward to getting to know all you on Phase 2/

    Cheers!
  • Hi Shequila! Glad that you've joined us again! I must say that I love your rewards that you have set up for yourself. If I reach my goal, may I join you?

We *used to* live in the D.C. area, but that was a couple years ago. My husband was stationed at Bolling AFB in the Presidential Honor Guard. We loved it there!

  • Oooo, Nik, friends from abroad coming for a visit! That should be a blast! Hey, how's it going with your guy friend?

Tell me about your sweet potato fries. I tried baking sweet potato in wedges once and we didn't quite like how they came out.

  • I was just reading the recipes thread and realized that I need to make that Taco Bake again. That was some good eats! Thought I'd post it on here so I remember when it comes time to plan what next week's meals will be.

  • Hi everyone. My computer has been up and down so I haven't been here much. I have still been doing great sticking to plan. I have thought about cheating a few times, but haven't. I'm so proud of myself. I like Kara have problems with portion control sometimes though. I made the cream cheese muffins last week. So yummy, but I couldn't limit myself to just one. 18 mo. old DD loved them to, so they were gone quick. May wait a few weeks before making those again.
  • Quote: HEY...there is NOTHING wrong with the WEST COAST baby!!!
nope nothing wrong with it at all. my best guy friend lives in ridgecrest....
  • i have portion problems too
    i can't say no...

so i just dont' have stuff i have a hard time with....
  • But I have that issue with almost everything.
  • So how are you all doing on Phase 2? Have you noticed any cravings returning or are you still plugging away? What's has and has not been working for you?

This thread has been quiet so I thought we could get it going again.

  • Things are going okay here. I have been mostly still doing Ph. 1 though. Thing is when I do snacks and dessert at night I stall in my weight loss. When I eat 3 meals and occasionally a small dessert I lose some. Not really sure what's up with that. We are going to a family runion for hubby's side of the family this weekend. Probably not going to be good for my way of eating. I'm sure there will not be much SB friendly food there and don't know if I can resist all of those homemade desserts. Does anyone have any ideas of anything I can make to take with me. It is about 3-4 hrs. from here, so I will have to make something that won't spoil.
  • Phase II, 3 weeks in...
So far I've added oatmeal, rf triscuits, quinoa, and yesterday had a whole wheat pita for the first time. Also tried some ww tortillas, but didn't care for them. I'll use them in a pinch. I've also added fruit, so far strawberries, blueberries, apples, nectarines, plums. I try to have no more than two starches a day for now. usually breakfast and dinner. And two fruits, usually an apple for afternoon snack. Some days I feel like I'm eating a ton and feel stuffed, and other days I feel hungry. I've noticed the hungry days are usually when I didn't have a hearty breakfast with protein. Still struggling with: getting enough water - too much travel lately to be drinking so much; and getting all the veggies in, but I'm doing much better. I've learned to stay away from nuts, and got rid of the block of dark chocolate that I had in the cabinet for a once a week nibble. I didn't break but it was just too tempting. I feel like I'm finally getting into a good routine. Next big challenge - exercise!
  • I've stalled a little but I don't know if it's because of my off plan eating last weekend or because I haven't been watching my portions as carefully again. My goal this week was just to get myself back on track with eating the right foods. I've been having one or two starches and one or two fruits a day, depends on the day and what "goes with" the menu. I've been doing well so far this week with eating the right kinds of foods and next week I will reconcentrate on portion sizes. I find that's where I see the most difference, when I pay close attention to how much I'm eating, even of the right foods. But I can't tackle too much at once or it's overwhelming and then I feel like giving up. I've been doing well with adding exercise back in. Last week I did three days of workouts and this week I've done two so far and have two more scheduled for later on this week - one more run on the treadmill and yoga on Saturday. Hopefully after next week's portion control policing I'll be losing again.
