"Monday Monday, so good to me" I have the Mamas and the Papas on the brain this morning. I hope today is good to you too.
I'm on the dash this morning as the reno starts today. The team will be here around nine and I still have stuff to do to get ready. I'm pretty sure today will be the powder room and laundry closet but you never know. I am hoping to have my kitchen still functioning for a while. The last of my seven loads of laundry is in the dryer as we speak. I'm finally caught up!
My Girls are off at the kennel. I really miss them. It's great to be adored and worshipped first thing in the morning! Depending on how much chaos there is, I'll probably get them home for the weekend which is our first long weekend of the summer.
Don't fret if I'm not around much. Just think of me as living in a version of "Flip This House"!
Right now, have a coffee and a bit of a chat about your weekend.
Ruth, I hope "flipping the house" goes smoothly for you!
Have kind of a busy day today after playing hooky yesterday.
But worth it because I had a very nice Mother's Day. I had all 3 of my kids here. We had planned to go out to eat, then thought the restaurants would all be packed, so decided to to call somewhere, pick up the food and bring it here to eat. We then ended up having a late breakfast and no one was hungry... so we did end up going out to eat around 3 when the crowds were gone. I ended up having salmon, broccoli and black beans.
(Speaking of breakfast, I bought some chicken sausage with apple at Whole Foods on Friday and it was really good..wish I had picked up a few more packs of it..everyone loved it)
My daughter (who is moving to LA next month..taking my broken heart with her) got me a bunch of Aveda goodies, My oldest son got me some beautiful fleur de lis earrings. And my youngest son told me "Mom, I didn't have time to shop with finals this week, but I'm going to get you a crepe maker" My daughter said "Beau,I don't think Mom can have crepes on her diet" youngest son replied "Well I can!" Thought that was pretty funny (He has just discovered crepes and of course I don't have my old crepe maker anymore) I found a recipe for WW crepes, so we'll both get them!
I'm a little late getting in here. I first spent a frantic 45 minutes trying to find a referral paper for my doctor's appt. tomorrow, then I went to Curves, and I watered the gardens as soon as I got back. I did find the referral, though, it somehow got mixed in with some other papers.
I ended up cooking a big turkey dinner yesterday. My DIL is having a rough time with this pregnancy, and her birthday is today, so I invited them over. Between cooking and helping Jake in the garden, I never did get in my much needed nap, but it was a pleasant day anyway.
I plan to clean house and mop the kitchen floor before going in today. We have plenty of leftovers from yesterday, so I won't have to worry about supper. I just had breakfast of Kashi Go Lean w/ yogurt and strawberries, and lunch will be a salad w/ turkey and black beans.
A quick check-in for me, it was a long, but good weekend. We had a small party on Saturday (calling it a late Cinco de Mayo celbration!) and had my parents here for Mother's Day dinner. This week is finals and then the students check-out of houising for the summer (we are open in summer, buit have FAR fewer people around). It will be a long week, but the reward at the end (peace and quiet) is priceless!
Hey Chicks,
I know you probably thought I dropped off the face of the Earth, but I have been really busy with commencement at my University. It is a lot of work getting ready for that.
I typed up a big long post on Saturday night, but my internet went out and killed it!!! I was so tired and that was super frustrating!
Anyway, I am still busy working on accreditation stuff and a big grant that needs to go out by next Monday. I am down 2 more pounds! That's good news.
I will try to get on here more this week...I miss you all
Just a quick post as the stacks on my desk are reaching new heights! No internet or land line hooked up yet. The phone company is REALLY taking us for a ride. If it takes too much longer, I'm going to tell them to refund us our service fees for the month. Workouts are going well with a total of 12 miles walked last week, but I've really got to get on track with eating. Grocery shopping is tomorrow, so I'll be planning meals and what-not tonight! Think SB-friendly, Kim!!
Have a great day and I'll tray to check in at lunch if my stack goes down!
Wow, everyone seems to be missing today or maybe checking in late like I am. This weekend was busy, busy, busy. I attended a field trip on Friday with DD's school that went from 6:30am to 9 pm. One of the school buses broke down. Saturday, I had a lot of errands and grocery shopping. Yesterday, was a relaxing day though. Believe it or not, my DH cleaned the entire house including dishes. It was the best mother's day ever. I did have a small slice of a strawberry topped cake which was delicious but I really didn't care to have more which is a good sign.
Take Care Everyone
Hi Beach Bunnies! Hope everyone has had a marvelous Monday.
Hubby and I took another road trip to Georgia to finalize things with the builder. Got back last night to find my oldest dog (14 year old poodle) was very sick. I thought he had a stroke.....head tilted to the right, couldnt walk straight or hold himself up...was staggering around and seemed dazed. We spent three hours at the emergency vet and he had many tests. Turns out he didnt have a stroke. He has something called idiopathic vestibular disease, also referred to as geriatric vestibular disease, which is a neuromuscular disorder that can come on suddenly. They don't know what causes it, but he will most likely fully recover within the next 7-10 days. He might always have a slight head tilt and may have some balance issues, but he will probably have a couple more good years with us. He does seem much better today. I do have to carry him everywhere and feed him by hand...and he's having accidents, but we're hopeful.
I have decided to stay off of the scales for the next three weeks....until after we get settled in Georgia. Right now, its almost impossible to stay on-plan 100% and get my daily exercise session. I plan on focusing on maintaining my current loss and trying to eat as healthy as possible.
