I should be in bed!! I'm waiting for a cheesecake to cool enough so I can put it in the fridge. We have a birthday at work tomorrow and nobody planned ahead. So, off to bake a cheesecake. Yikes!
Things are going smoothly here -- finally. The phone company got everything straightened everything out and our phone and internet are up! We got a wonderful rain yesterday afternoon/evening and I'm hoping it will do the yard some good. (Although I could do without the muddy paw prints all over my clean floors!) DH is not feeling well. I'm hoping it's not a stomach bug, but it seems like that's exactly what it is. Yuck. Work should be fairly uneventful and this evening I'll be cleaning the house.
I just found out some wonderful news -- DH and I will be vacationing in New Mexico this fall! Can't wait. I was worried that with the house-buying we wouldn't have enough, but we've definitely been blessed. Also, my dad's parents are taking the whole family (17 in all) to Myrtle Beach, SC next June. All we have to pay for is our meals and chip in for gas. The year after that another family that we're really close to has offered to take us to Disneyworld and again, we just need to come up with meal money and gas. Finally, my parents are planning on taking us all to Colorado next year for Christmas! FREE! Woohoo! That's a lot of traveling to get in shape for. D-Day for me is June 7 of 2008 - that's the day I'll have to put on a bathing suit.
Well, I've rambled for a while and the cheesecake is probably ready to chill. I'll check in tomorrow! Have a great morning!
Cheesecake! Food PORN!!! I'd sure like a slice instead of my HB egg and strawberries with my coffee. Kim, you sound your usual happy and enthused self again. I hope DH gets better fast.
I have no usable kitchen this morning but am all excited because the guys are demolishing the cabinets this morning. It's also bathroom tile grouting, ceiling painting and start the floor day! Norm who was here yesterday took off all the baseboards and mouldings so it'll be quick. It is remotely possible that I might have a semi-functional kitchen by Friday night.
This morning I am off to the hospital in town for the first of my synovial fluid shots and am expecting Ms. Knee to just shaddup for a while. I have tons of garden work to do, including digging and potting more perennials for Saturday's sale. I have to take it easy for 24 hours but it's raining anyhow so the timing is right. Tomorrow and Friday will be Biggy Diggy Days!
Biggy Diggy Days indeed, Ruth! I sure hope Ms. Knee cooperates, and your shots go well. We've been pretty busy ourselves, putting in a new perrenial bed and a terraced wall. It's a lot of hard, back-breaking work, but well worth it! I'm so excited for you with your kitchen reno!!! I bet you can't wait to see how it all comes out, please show us pictures.
Kim, Yummmmm, cheesecake! Are you planning on having some, too? Cheesecake is a big weakness of mine, along with ice cream, of course. All your travel plans sound pretty exciting, and what a good incentive to lose weight! I'm glad things are going so well for you, and hope DH feels better soon!
We're expecting thunderstorms here today, so I'm not going to bother watering the garden. I've got a load of laundry going in the dryer, and I'm going to make our supper of Chicken Alfredo w/ broccoli this morning so I'll just have to reheat it tonight. Other than that, I'm just going to be lazy this morning. But first, I have a date with Curves!
Hey All,
Good to see everyone here on Wed. I've been on a trip for the past 2 weeks. I did the best with what was available on SBD. It wasn't too hard, but I think maybe too much fat. The good news, I didn't gain a pound. The bad news, I didn't lose any either. I'm back on P1 for the rest of the week to help get me serious about seeing the scale go down. I know that coming here to 3fatchicks has been key to keeping me honest about what I'm doing. Good to hear all of you are doing well. Can't wait to have another good day under my belt.
K
back Ducgirl and Kimstarr!!!
Wow! lots of home improvement goin on round here! I cant wait to see the kitchen reno and the bathroom retiled Ruth! I hear those shots are godsends! I hope they work for you...and
Cottage!! oooh I bet the terrace is going to be such a peaceful inviting spot once done! I can just imagine it filled with colorful flowers!
Kim --WOW how exxciting all that traveling about! must take pics!!!
Today off to docs with DH and then Bingo with MIL .. Dinner will be a ww pasta dish I think!
Morning chicks, it is raining here as well today and that makes for shack wacky children, so lots of crafts after school today. Youngest dd has left for her trip to Quebec they are going by bus but is makes me nervous as they are calling for heavy rains and snow somewhere in New Brunswick.
Ruth- glad the kitchen reno is going well, hope you have a kitchen by friday. Good luck with the knee take care of yourself.
Kim- wow lots of traveling for you. Like cottage said that is a good goal to help with the weight loss. Have a great day.
Cottage- morning chick, I wish I could have a lazy morning. Enjoy for me too please. Have fun at Curves. I really need to get some excersing in. Got a new dvd dance yourself thin I have not even looked at it.
ducgirlm620 - Good for you being away two weeks and not gaining is great. I was away for 5 days and gained about 3 pounds. Keep up the good work.
Me- Not much of anything. Like I said it is raining so I can't get the kids outside, or hang laundry out I have not replaced my dryer yet so when it rains I get behind. I am meeting my mom for coffee tonight other than that not to much. Although I am sure I will find a project to do.
I am alive and dragging my fat butt back to the beach. I really don't want to confess how horrible my eating has been and the amount of weight I have allowed to creep back on, so here I am.
My fridge is not really stocked and ready to go, but I can certainly make it through a day. It is going to have to be back to Phase 1 as my cravings are ridiculous.
I can't wait to catch up on how everyone has been as well as get to know some new faces.
Kim - Looks like you will get to have some exciting times! I love to travel. So glad you got the phone and internet working. I really hope we don't run into those problems as hubby and I both telecommute from home for our employer. Ruthxx - sounds like you are weathering the storm in your kitchen...hope that knee gets its act together soon. Cottage - Enjoy your "lazy" morning....althought, Curves doesnt sound very lazy to me! Ducgirl - welcome back! No pounds gained = success! Congratulations!
Schatzi - I love bingo! Hubby and I went to play bingo one time....we had four cards a piece and could barely keep up. The ladies around us had a great time laughing....and they still kept up with their many many cards!
Yesterday, I was a chaperone for my DDs fifth grade field trip to Universal Studios. Wow, that was fun! But, I sure am tired out today. Today, I get to sit on my duff and do my job. I really need to start getting the garage cleaned out. As of today, it is exactly two weeks until we close the sale of our current house and leave for Georgia. I better get busy...I have a ton to do!

Ruth: How exciting about the kitchen. It sounds like they just dug right in and got to work with everything! Hope the shots work well for you -- I know you'd probably go crazy if you couldn't get in the garden!
Cottage: Your dinner sounds delish. I'm still staying away from the pasta, though. Too much of a trigger for me! Hope the thunderstorms aren't too bad.
ducgirl: I know you think it's not good that you didn't lose on your trip, but the fact that you didn't gain is wonderful! I don't think I've ever been on a trip where I didn't gain at least a pound or two! WTG!
Schatzi: Oh how I love playing Bingo! Back in my home"city", it was a hot date spot -- can you believe it? I guess there's no better way to avoid that awkward silence. Too busy checking your cards!
little chick: I'm sure the kiddos will be fine...and that you won't worry TOO much! Rainy day crafts are always fun!
Kiko: I know what you mean, girl! I'm going to hit P1 again soon. I just need to plan my meals and stick to it for a while!
GirlyGirl: Isn't it awful how that moving day just creeps up on you? I hope you get some great rest today and feel energized tomorrow!
ME: Sorry about the food porn! I was just so frustrated with the waiting! And no, I will not be eating it. We're on a sort of rotation system for cakes and what-not and it was my turn. I thought about just bringing some SF fudgesicles, but decided against it!
DH is already feeling better, thank you for the well wishes. I think he just ate something that didn't agree with him. He seemed fine this morning and didn't hog the bathroom too much. Well, it's 8:30, so I'd better get a move on! Hope you all have a beachy day!
Kim, good for you, being able to avoid the cheesecake! How about taking along a ricotta creme for yourself, or is it too late? You're probably already at work! I make the Alfredo recipe that's posted in our recipe boards, but I don't use pasta. I also tweak the recipe a little, substituting a tub of the lowfat vegetable cream cheese, skim milk instead of 1/2 & 1/2, and I add red peppers, broccoli and onions to it. It turns out just as good and has less fat, too. I serve it over spagetti squash.
Kiko, WELCOME BACK!!!! I sure have missed you, and was about to PM you to see what was up! Time to get your booty back in here, girl!
Schatzi, have fun at bingo! Jake and I used to go every week with my mother and aunt. Would you believe I used to play 24 cards at a time?!
Hey, L.C.! I'll be keeping your DD and her classmates in my prayers. I'm sure they'll have a safe trip, though. Congratulations on all your awards for the dance competition!
GirlyGirlS, and ducgirlM, have a great day!
So much for being lazy this morning! After Curves I made a quick trip to the grocery, folded laundry, put fresh sheets on the bed, and made the Alfredo for tonight, plus...had a long phone conversation with Cindy about a costume we (I) have to make for Audrey's school play, and had a nice phone chat with my mother. Now, I only have an hour left to myself before I get Maggie. Oh well, I did accomplish a lot, so that's less I have to do tonight!
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on a lion costume? I wonder if there's a good website that has ideas?
Good Morning, Petits Poulets!
Rush, Rush..I'm in the middle of testing students and getting records ready to send on the next grade, but had a little break so decided to quickly check in..
Hoping everyone has a great, productive day!
I was just thinking a few minutes ago how really REALLY GOOD I feel after a month and 3 days this "diet". I just love it. I just don't feel tired anymore.
My other job is web design, so I was thinking that when school is out I might put together a collection of recipes I've "converted" and putting them up on a site when I have a little free time.
Kiko - It's great to see you back. I haven't posted much lately since I've been even busier than normal with Twilight Camp less than one month away. I've got a precamp inspection tonight and I'm running a staff meeting. There are just so many details remaining and work has been busy too. My weight hasn't been doing well either but I'm doing me best. When does school get out? Brian's last day is next Thursday.
