I'm pretty new on these boards... just started South Beach yesterday in fact. I'm wondering if it's okay to chew sugar-free gum during the first two weeks (or thereafter, for that matter), since they have sugar alcohols in them? As an ex-smoker, gum is one of the most critical parts of my day!
yes, you can have yer "gum and chew it too." - take a look at the food list for phase 1 in the stickies. you would count the gum as part of the 75 cal a day treat. If you are use to the sugar alcohol type gum you shouldnt be bothered by some of the side effects that others get when first trying them
