Default Day 6: I love it!

Hi folks! I'm new to the board. I am halfway through day six and I thought I'd tell you about my progress. I haven't weighed myself yet. I know I weigh considerably more than the last time I weighed myself, so I want to wait until my clothes feel looser. They definitely fit differently. I haven't craved sugar or white flour. I'm actually enjoying the veggies I eat! On other diets I would be ready to cheat by now. My skin looks a lot better. If I feel hungry between meals, I eat about 5 almonds and I am good for a few hours. Everything is so tasty, and eating is exciting rather than depressing. I'm considering doing Wave 1 longer than the 10 days. Has anyone tried this? Also, I am going to cheat pretty heavily on Halloween. I am having a big party with alcohol and candy, so I feel I should stay on Wave 1 as long as possible. I figured if I jump right back on to wave 1 on Nov. 1, I should be fine. On exercise, I walk at least 30 minutes a day if nothing else. I noticed I have a lot more energy and actually look forward to the exercise. I am the ultimate couch potato, so that's pretty exciting for me. I haven't found too many posts regarding the amount of weight lost and the amount of time it took. I'm very interested in hearing this. Keeps me motivated. I tend to get depressed if I weigh more than I thought I did, so I try to stay away from the scale, but I will try to post my weightloss as well. This is a great board. I look forward to posting with everyone!

Hey Brooke - welcome! I have been down with my back all week and it has made dieting, exercising, and posting very difficult! I lost 7 pounds when I started on wave 1 and have bounced 5 pounds of that up and down ever since. I too agree it is a very healthy feeling and tasty diet to do. Lots of variety too. I will be better about posting this week.

Welcome Brooke. Sorry I wasn't here earlier to welcom you. I've been doign church stuff all day.

So glad you are giving Sonoma a whirl. I too love this way of eating.

As far as staying on Wave 1 more than 10 days, remember the main purpose of Wave 1 is to rid your self of sugar cravings. We each have to decide for ourselves what we do, but personally I wouldn't do it for longer as fruit does have certain macro and micro nutrients our body needs. I won't curtail any food group myself. Each group gives you a different set of nutrients. And a wide variety is what we need for good health, which matters FAR more than being a certain weight or size IMHO.
