Hi, all! I purchased my book yesterday and, despite the temptations of Easter Sunday, I have started on the diet today!!

I have been lurking here for a few days and knew I would need a lot of support to reach my goal; this looked like just the place!
I am normally a petite gal (barely 5'3") and have been able to maintain a good weight for me when I put my mind to it. Well, for the past year, I guess my mind is gone

because I have packed on almost 20 pounds and it won't budge. I have gone through a bunch of excuses, but I think I am just eating too darn much. (NO!)
Today I have had some Kashi cereal (not bad), walked the treadmill for 25 minutes, and have had nothing but water. My mind is now on lunch and I'll be pulling out the book for an interesting suggestion.
I can't wait to get to know all of you. Thanks for letting me join you!
