Default New Person! Sonoma Question

I am just starting Sonoma - Wave 1 tomorrow! I've sort of started today, as I'm not eating any sweets and am doing the portion stuff, but I only bought the book last night so I didn't have time to go shopping and get a lunch ready today. So I had my usual lean pocket ultra (ham and cheese) with some veggies. I don't think this is quite on the plan, so I'm considering tomorrow my first day, and going shopping tonight.
? - What is the suggestion on salt, or is there one? I haven't really run across anything specific, and didn't see it in the allowed list, but it is included in lots of recipes. Is it ok for me to salt my veggies?
Another question - though this may be more appropriate to an exercise forum - what sort of exercise do ya'll do when its cold out? I can't afford the gym, but maybe if there were specific DVD's or something that people liked...
Thanks!

Welcome. Glad to have you join us. Sure salt is allowed, but as I am sure you are aware most of us eat far too much salt as it is so don't go nutty. ( I am a very BAD salt addict, but luckily my BP has tolerated it so far)

I workout before work from 4:30-5:45 and it's lucky i can even get my eyes open then, so driving to a gym isn't an option for me. I rely on videos - aerobics, step aerobics and free weights. www.collagevideo.com is a great resource to read reviews and even see short clips of workouts.

I don't know your workout level, so I can't really recommend anything.. just that we all need to exercise on a regular basis!

I exercise in the cold, of course this is Texas, hey no laughing out there, its freaking artic out there as far as Im concerned, so on a mentality like that when dressed appropriatly, outside can be done, and on days when I just cant take it, because I am a wimp, I have DVD's, hand weights, and a step, and make my body move indoors, I nearly always get in my yoga even if Im too lazy to do anything else that day. Good Luck and welcome aboard!

Im not sure what your cable is but I have comcast and we have on demand. There is an area with tons of free workout videos and I ahve recently started pilates/yoga and it has been great. Its doable and a great workout. I would recommend anyone trying it. Good luck.
