Default 30 Somethings Chat: Thursday 11/30

Good Morning!!
I am craving my coffee but have a MD appointment for a checkup and blood work that I must have nothing before..I wish I could have slept in and skipped work but since I had to go to the MD thought I would get a little work done also...

Lauren: Sorry about the daycare..e-mail or call me if U need to talk..I got a phone call from school yesterday cuz #2 was "inapropriately massaging" another childs shoulders and touching his hair..Helloooooo...she has Down's Syndrome and doesnt know about "sexual" touching..I think everyone is just plain nuts..She is a touchy, feely, huggy child as is most DS kids..I think it it the adults who make it a nasty thing..I am with U on computers with kids...I can only get here when she is sleeping...

Have a nice day all..must get dressed...
PS--Mommies, isnt it sad about Greg Wiggle leaving??? It made me sort of upset cuz I have listened/watched him since 1999...It won't be the same with "Sam" Wiggle wearing yellow..I just pray he gets well.....

RR, I just read about Greg! I hate when they have to replace someone. Especially since he's so prominent. The article I read Murray said they don't think the kids will notice as long as the person has dark hair and a yellow shirt. I so do not agree with that. They'll notice! Kids are more observant that adults most of the time. lol Also sorry to hear about the trouble with sd. It doesn't sound like the teacher knows the inner-workings of "special" children. It seems like she should know a little more about ds kids. Sorry, I just get all riled up wiht mentally ill kids being treated wrong. A very good friend of mine has a daughter with a myriad of mental issues and she has issues all the time at school. Ugh ok off my soap box for now.

Lawrence...where are you????? You've been gone for days!

Holy, what kind of jammies are you making?? I love jammies and so does dd. 30 degrees is pretty cold, I'll give you that one! We've been spoiled with weather in the 60's all week but today is the last of that. It's supposed to be 50-ish today then in the 30's tomorrow with a chance for (gulp) snow!

to everyone else!! Make it a great day!

Molly: Men's jammies "designed" by some crazy woman. i've cut out fabric for the 4th pair, and i will get fabric for the 5th today. I'll cut all that out too, probably tonight. I hope I get this done this weekend. If I can, it will give me time to work on my own dress for the party next weekend.

I set a goal for new years. This week i havent been so good on my eating plan, i'm going to have to work real hard next week to make my goal for new years. I haven't even started christmas shoping, i'll do that right after I'm done with everything *sighs*

have a good day everyone, i'm under a freeze warning this morning!!

Hi All,

Holy, I soo wish I could sew! Keep warm!

Molly & RR, Yeah, I was upset to hear about Greg too. I'm glad he's taking care of his health though. I don't think I've heard Sam sing. I wonder what this means for the TV show??

RR, that is just wrong that they had to call you for "inappropriate" touching. I remember one time Peter's teacher at the old center said something about him inappropriately touching her because he was patting her butt while she was talking to a parent, like playing drums on her butt. I told her she should take it as a compliment, because he was looking for attention from her. He wouldn't have done that if he didn't like her!! Some people just don't get it!

Good morning everyone. I actually have a minute to post, the girlie is happy in her exersaucer!

They finally finsihed the office yesterday so I have my house back! Yay! I can park my car in the garage again and don't have to get up early to make sure the pathway is clear to get from the door to the stairs! Yeeeehah! Now I am frantically doing laundry and getting our stuff packed for vacation. I am so not looking forward to being on a plane for 11 hours. Whew.

Eating has been awful and exercise non-existant .

RR: Some people just need to get a freaking clue. Geeze. I hear ya on the Wiggles. Greg was my least favorite. From what I hear he had been missing a lot of performances, so maybe the kids won't pay much attention to him being gone. I hope he feels better soon tho. He's been sick for about 3 years I think.

Mama: I'm not looking forward to winter this year. I hope we don't get a lot of snow.

Holy: The jammies sound cool.

OK, girlie's had enough playing solo! Have a great day everyone!

Hello all!

Ok, I missed it Lauren, What happened with Daycare? I thought that I had been keeping up on all the posts, but I guess I was wrong.

Karen~Have SOOO much FUN on vacation!! You deserve a break!

RR~Sorry to hear about the misunderstanding at school. I know that they have to watch for inappropriate touching, but sometimes they do take it to an extreme.

Molly~Congrats on being down .8 after turkey day, that is truely an accomplishment!! It is SO hard to watch the food intake around holidays because everywhere you turn, FOOD, food and more Food!!

Well, it has been a tough week here! DH had to go for another study at the sleep center, hopefully it will be the last. This one he basically had to sit in a room for 7 hours, periodically in the dark and be monitored to make sure he would not doze off. He did fine and hopefully this puts an end to the saga!!

Then, my youngest has been coughing for what seems like forever! He was seen at the school based health center a few times and I finally decided that I wanted him to see His Dr. They (school based) seemed a little put off by my decision, but I did not worry about that, I was concerned for my baby! Anyway, they just wanted to put him on another pill. Our pediatrician told me that he has Restrictive Airway Disease and that pill would not fix the problem. He needs to be on a steriod, Zyrtec and the nebulizer to get rid of the Wheezing first, THEN we will go to a preventive med, (the pill that school based wanted to use, or one near the same) He told me that he is not ready to call it Asthma yet because there is a small chance he could out grow this, but he is not overly hopeful of that happening. I certainly hope he can outgrow it, but he did tell me that most kids will outgrow it between 4 and 6 years old and being that Alex is 6.5yrs old, it may not happen for him. Anyway, we will be visiting the Dr again next week, friday to see how he sounds and where we go from here. I tell ya, there is just never a dull moment here!

Because of all of the wonderful stress in my life, I am reaching for alot of comfort foods lately too and I know better! Why can't I DO better??? I know that I should not dwell on it, but it is SO hard not to. I know I should just pull myself up by the bootstraps and get on with it, well, I don't wear boots, but I gotta grab something!

to everyone!
Well, hope youre having a great day!

Darcy

Darcy, The director at the new daycare has been pushing me about checking into the town pre-K, because I would get him the proper care he needs for his behavioral problems. I checked into it before we switched to this center and didn't want to pursue because it's 2.5 hr/day and extra help is only a couple times a week. That would mean 2 new schools, because of before/after care. So, I found this daycare and was impressed with the ratios, and the school itself. Then the new director started and she's basically lazy and doesn't want to deal with it. When I dropped them off Tuesday AM, she told me that she doesn't think they can handle him and he needs a different environment and that it should be his last day. :thud: So I had a fit and gathered all their things and took them home.

What are they looking for in the sleep studies??

Michelle, Congrats!! Sorry to hear George is still sitting there.

Michelle, 1. Awesome!!! 2. Good to hear. Did she make it to the doc yet?? I hope so. Any morning sickness?? 3. Congrats to dh! 4. That so sucks! WTH are they waiting for?? Christmas? It's close ya know! for you girl!

Darcy, how could the school be put off? For ****'s sake! That's why you have a pediatritian...helloooo. Glad he's taking care of things for him. He could still grow out of it too. My friend's wife had asthma when she was younger and was in her teens before she grew out of it. I know it's prolly not likely but it could happen.

Holy, the jammies sound really cool! Darn it all that they're not for girls. lol I so wish I could sew. I can only do well enough to fix stuff, not to make anything though. i have a purse I'm trying to make and I'm waiting for mil to help me finish. My problem is that I'm scared of stuff. I'd hate to fail. lol Oh well.

OK didn't do great eating today. Went to lunch with my bff at Olga's. It was way yummy and I usually take half home but ate the whole damn thing! I don't even want to admit to how many points my lunch was so I won't. Use your imaginations. lol Tomorrow is another day. OK all have a great night!

Hello all! Had pictures taken for the new church directory - wow what a wake up call. Oh my goodness. When I came home, I had the munchies (not good) so I had an apple. I figured it would be better for me and even though it didn't satisfy - that's okay.

Molly, people might not know what Olga's is. If its any consolation I am jelous. (sp?)

Godess, Wow so much going on! The excitement just boggles the mind (on the house). Sorry to hear about George, maybe the wait will be better for him. I know that it is hard to hear.

Well off to bed, good night everyone.
