As far as turnip greens go, I have to have them boiled with the turnips, garlic and sometimes a ham hock for flavor. I use half and half chicken/poultry stock and water. We make our own stock and freeze it in quart bags instead of the canned type.
I haven't found that turnip greens are good unless they are boiled. They are far too bitter if they are steamed or lightly sauteed. (my taste, not everyone's).
Check around here. Somewhere on here someone posted a recipe for a mushroom and spinach medley. It is awesome! We fix it all the time and everyone of our guests have loved it.
