Hey gals. Still working the program- just completed my first week and lost 5 lbs. I was wondering if you could recommend and no fat salad dressings that you find tasty and helps you stay on track. Thanks, Joan
Welcome Joan! Congrats on your loss. Not sure I can recommend anything special; I actually like Wishbone FF Italian dressings; I tend to stick to the light dressings and use them sparingly. You know the trick-dip your fork into the dressing, then stab your salad on the fork.
I also lite FF blue cheese dressing (I think it's by Wishbone or Seven Seas) on my broccoli; yummy.
Boards are quiet on the weekends. I'm just sneaking in one last time before we hit the road for vacation. Have a great week.
I've found that the Kraft free brand is the one for me right now. They have FF Ranch And FF Thousand Island. My family is using these too now. They can't telll the difference. 2 tbsp of TI is only 45 calories. It sure can make a cup of lettuce or some baby carrots better in one dip. Actually according to the plan you can use any fat free dressing as long as the sodium count is less than 175mg per tablespoon. I hope this helps and good luck.

My plan list 1/2 cup cottage cheese 1% fat counting as 1 vegetarian protein. The tablespoon of salad dressing only counts a condiment. I would much rather use the condiment than the protein. But that's just me.
I like the Wishbone Salad Spritzer. Especially the Red Wine Vinaigrette one!
10 sprays = 10 calories. I put the salad in a plastic bowl with a lid, spray, and then put the lid on and shake it up so the dressing gets on all the veggies.
I use LITE salad dressing and my COD's say to count as a condiment. I like these better then the FF ones. The FF dressing would make me gag LOL. I like the calorie wise Kraft and the Hidden Valley Ranch Lite.
HTH
I use lite, rather than ff also. We have had similar discussions before on this board. Dr. Oz ( I just finished his book last night ), says ff dressing is the devil. It is overloaded with sugar and sodium. Acutally, he says it is overloaded with HFCS (which seems to be his personal devil). He claims (and I do not really doubt it) that foods with HFCS trick your body into staying hungry. Now, as far as salad dressing goes, I probably would think it to be such a big deal, as the bulk of your food is vegetable. If you like FF, I wouldn't stop eating it. However, if lite makes your salad and/or vegetables yummy, and you are more likely to eat them, and ENJOY them, then I would consider using lite. I use and prefer lite.
Candice - That your COD counts your lite dressing as a condiment is really cool. I was told "it wasn't on plan", so when I do use it I count it as my fat. BUT... if you buy the LAWL salad dressing, it has fat and 60 calories/pouch and it's a condiment. I think I'm going to go with you for those occasions I'm not using my salad spritzer. Makes sense!
BTW... You're usually pretty quiet on the boards but I look at your ticker and your kickin' butt and takin' names! WTG on the losses! I think you said you were exercising too? I'm sure you're looking great.
I am with Cassie on the Wishbone Spritzer. It has enough "tang" to let you know there is something to it. I have been using the Red Wine one and it is great. I just tried the Balsamic Spritzer yesterday and it is OK but I like the Red Wine better. It has only 1 cal per spray so I have not been counting it as anything. It sure does make those veggies go down a little smoother and it is completely portable so I can bring it with me anywhere (and I do). On the weekends we are always running around and I make sure I have my salad spritzer and a pouch of tuna or salmon that I can pop open and top a garden salad. This has saved me when while the hubby and kids are eating their meals.
I use some dressings that I found at Trader Joe's...they're the Trader Joe's brand and there's a sesame ginger one I really like and a raspberry vinegarette. Along the same lines as Cassi with the tupperware, I always put my salad in a big ziplock bag and put the dressing in so it gets all over the salad. It's amazing how far a tiny amount of dressing goes this way. I just put the bag in the fridge and use it for several days.
