I can't believe I made a mess of starting the thread this morning.

And there's no (apparent) way to delete a thread either. *sighs* Oh well...live and learn.
Nothing exciting going on in my life over the last day. Actually turned into a dreary and damp day again.

So, that meant no walking
again. On the bright side, I my gyprock showing up today so that we can start putting "real walls" up in the basement. One more step closer....but there's still so much still to go.

Ah well, it'll be nice once it's done...
Oh! Here's an interesting tidbit that I got from a Dietitian who was teaching a cooking class I went to the other night: Americans (US Study) will gain an average of 4-6 lbs over the Christmas Holiday period.

She went on to say that the people she's helping with weight loss...she tells them that if they can get through Christmas
maintaining that they've done a great job (saved 4-6 lb gain). I dunno about you guys, but I'm still gonna try and loose over the holidays....buck the trend.
Molly - There's actually (as far as I know) 2 Time Zones east of the "Eastern Time Zone" in North America - both of them in Canada. The Atlantic Time Zone (+1h from ET) and Newfoundland Time Zone (+1.5h from ET). And you're not the only one who has a hard time with it. Dealing with vendors in the US all the time and they always assume that when we say we're on the East Coast that we're automatically in the ET instead of another hour ahead.
And congrats on the super weight loss! Just expect a bit of that to bounce back -- that happened to me earlier this year (a couple weeks before I started posting here) and I found it to be a little discouraging. Of course, if you DO manage to keep it all off....super!
Lauren - I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my love/hate relationship with the scale. I need to feel like I'm making progress and while feeling the clothes fit differently is nice, I'm a numbers person.

Speaking of which, I
really need to get back to counting the calories on FitDay...been pretty lazy these last couple weeks. Numbers, Numbers, Numbers....
JennyMarie - You're not the first person to talk about eating more soup to cure cravings. My problem is that I'm too lazy to make my own, which means I'm looking to packaged Cup-of-soup or canned soup solutions. Holy Sodium count, batman! Great way to fill your body with a ton of water is to eat cup-of-soup. Yeesh.... Maybe I just need to take time on the weekends to make soup and freeze it, like you were saying... If I just weren't so darned lazy....
Jess - No UU in New Hampshire? Really? Somehow that surprises me, given that (from what I have read) New England is kinda the hot-bed for that sort of thing. I'm sure you have, but have you checked with any UU directories? My congregation meets in a community center (I think I previously mentioned that we're pretty small - 25-50 regulars) so it might not be as obvious where your locals meet.

We've also got a Drum Circle in town here - and I've been mildly curious about going to that sometime. But, as with anything "new and different", I get very anxious and worried about trying it. I'm such a wuss. However, I have gotten a little bit "brave" and am going to get some instruction on Buddhist Meditation this weekend. No idea how that'll go but....what the heck, eh?
Fit - Don't worry. We'll always be here when you get a second to come back to us.

Take care & I hope everyone is feeling better soon.
Michelle - If you've fallen off the wagon, adjust your tracker, reset your goal weight for the target date and then pick up the pieces and tell yourself
I can do this and you'll be surprised what you can do. Life is about it's ups and downs....so don't get discouraged.
Christi - Wow! That's beautiful! You do such wonderful work.... Maybe I'll have to get you to make me something from Thomas the Tank Engine sometime.

And if you're having a rough week eating well, don't worry about it. Maybe take some time to plan out meals over the weekend so you're not always wondering "what should I make today". And that includes breakfasts and lunches. And if you'd rather say "just screw it, I'm too busy" - that's fine too. T'is the season to be harried.
Holy - What kind of dress are you making? Something for yourself or something "just because"? And don't be worried about "being down".

I've found that this group can be a great pick-me-up sometimes, so always drop in and let us know.

We'll make sure we sit on you and tickle you until you at least smile.
You know, I'm really envious of the people who can do all these "crafty things" (like sewing, painting, etc). I think I might see if I have any sort of ability in the new year, though I might try painting ceramic for Christmas. There's a place in town here which lets you do all the painting and then they glaze/fire the piece for you. Not too expensive for an "original"...thought that might make a nice personal gift for a couple people. I just need to sneak around and get that done sometime.
Alright peeps, that's it for this morning. Gotta get these buns moving or I'll be late for work. Stay strong & stay on program!
