Thumbs up Thursday Already? Woohoo!

I can't believe I made a mess of starting the thread this morning. And there's no (apparent) way to delete a thread either. *sighs* Oh well...live and learn.

Nothing exciting going on in my life over the last day. Actually turned into a dreary and damp day again. So, that meant no walking again. On the bright side, I my gyprock showing up today so that we can start putting "real walls" up in the basement. One more step closer....but there's still so much still to go. Ah well, it'll be nice once it's done...

Oh! Here's an interesting tidbit that I got from a Dietitian who was teaching a cooking class I went to the other night: Americans (US Study) will gain an average of 4-6 lbs over the Christmas Holiday period. She went on to say that the people she's helping with weight loss...she tells them that if they can get through Christmas maintaining that they've done a great job (saved 4-6 lb gain). I dunno about you guys, but I'm still gonna try and loose over the holidays....buck the trend.

Molly - There's actually (as far as I know) 2 Time Zones east of the "Eastern Time Zone" in North America - both of them in Canada. The Atlantic Time Zone (+1h from ET) and Newfoundland Time Zone (+1.5h from ET). And you're not the only one who has a hard time with it. Dealing with vendors in the US all the time and they always assume that when we say we're on the East Coast that we're automatically in the ET instead of another hour ahead. And congrats on the super weight loss! Just expect a bit of that to bounce back -- that happened to me earlier this year (a couple weeks before I started posting here) and I found it to be a little discouraging. Of course, if you DO manage to keep it all off....super!

Lauren - I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have my love/hate relationship with the scale. I need to feel like I'm making progress and while feeling the clothes fit differently is nice, I'm a numbers person. Speaking of which, I really need to get back to counting the calories on FitDay...been pretty lazy these last couple weeks. Numbers, Numbers, Numbers....

JennyMarie - You're not the first person to talk about eating more soup to cure cravings. My problem is that I'm too lazy to make my own, which means I'm looking to packaged Cup-of-soup or canned soup solutions. Holy Sodium count, batman! Great way to fill your body with a ton of water is to eat cup-of-soup. Yeesh.... Maybe I just need to take time on the weekends to make soup and freeze it, like you were saying... If I just weren't so darned lazy....

Jess - No UU in New Hampshire? Really? Somehow that surprises me, given that (from what I have read) New England is kinda the hot-bed for that sort of thing. I'm sure you have, but have you checked with any UU directories? My congregation meets in a community center (I think I previously mentioned that we're pretty small - 25-50 regulars) so it might not be as obvious where your locals meet. We've also got a Drum Circle in town here - and I've been mildly curious about going to that sometime. But, as with anything "new and different", I get very anxious and worried about trying it. I'm such a wuss. However, I have gotten a little bit "brave" and am going to get some instruction on Buddhist Meditation this weekend. No idea how that'll go but....what the heck, eh?

Fit - Don't worry. We'll always be here when you get a second to come back to us. Take care & I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Michelle - If you've fallen off the wagon, adjust your tracker, reset your goal weight for the target date and then pick up the pieces and tell yourself I can do this and you'll be surprised what you can do. Life is about it's ups and downs....so don't get discouraged.

Christi - Wow! That's beautiful! You do such wonderful work.... Maybe I'll have to get you to make me something from Thomas the Tank Engine sometime. And if you're having a rough week eating well, don't worry about it. Maybe take some time to plan out meals over the weekend so you're not always wondering "what should I make today". And that includes breakfasts and lunches. And if you'd rather say "just screw it, I'm too busy" - that's fine too. T'is the season to be harried.

Holy - What kind of dress are you making? Something for yourself or something "just because"? And don't be worried about "being down". I've found that this group can be a great pick-me-up sometimes, so always drop in and let us know. We'll make sure we sit on you and tickle you until you at least smile.

You know, I'm really envious of the people who can do all these "crafty things" (like sewing, painting, etc). I think I might see if I have any sort of ability in the new year, though I might try painting ceramic for Christmas. There's a place in town here which lets you do all the painting and then they glaze/fire the piece for you. Not too expensive for an "original"...thought that might make a nice personal gift for a couple people. I just need to sneak around and get that done sometime.

Alright peeps, that's it for this morning. Gotta get these buns moving or I'll be late for work. Stay strong & stay on program!

Hey all!!! Just wanted to stop in and say Hi before I go work out. Today is a cool but sunny day here in east Tn. Yipee!

Zephyr: The soup thing is better when you make alot then freeze it! I don't add any salt to mine at all, usually when I heat it back up I put sea salt on it! I drink alot of water anyway so I don't usually have a problem with water weight. I usually eat soup before a meal or a big salad with lots of cut up veggies! I have a bowl for all my veggies, when I get home from the store with them I go ahead and cut them up! That way when I get the munchies I can go grab a handful of them! Seems to work for me!

Mamabear: WWWOOOOWWWW!!!! You get a extra You go girl!!!! wooohooo! That is terrific! Im so happy for you, I know that must feel good!!! Keep up that good work!

Wanna: That painting is wonderful! It must be nice to have your and Stevi's abilities! Lucky ya'll!!! How are you doing on ww? I'm still the same....losing inches not weight.

Squishy: Where have you been girl! We've missed ya! Sounds like you've been busy though, That's a good thing right?

Fit: Good idea on the water and eating before weigh in Funny!!! Congrats on getting a trainer! I'm sure that will help you. Did you watch the biggest loser last night? I was kinda surprise on who got out! But did you see him now? Wow....He looks great!!!

Well need to run for now! Talk to everyone later! Have a great day!

Lawrence: Just let me know, Thomas (or sir tompemhat?) Is totally on my to-do list.

Yes I am certainly harried. I know meal planning is what makes me or breaks me. DH's pay day has changed, and so has gro day, so I am a little off. A little self disipline wouldn't hurt either... Thes scales have jumped up 4lbs, Consistant yesturday and today, so it counts as weight, not fluxuation. that puts me like 5lbs above ticker. Now I'm scared. I'm gonna watch my points today....

Holy: Wow, yes please post pics. I would Love to see.

JennyMarie. I haven't been doing well at all. Like Isaid. Now I am scared. My goal is (was) to lose a total of 30lb by 2007. What could be worst then entering the new year heavyer then I started the old one. ??? This week is crazy and busy, as probably the rest of this year will be. I am gonna have to buckle down, and face a little reality. (sorry,, I didn't mean to get so intense, but this is MAJOR )

Morning! I have been checking in just to keep up, but unfortunately have not had time to post. Busy, busy!

Lawrence~your posts are always so great! Hope all goes well putting those walls up! It is such a great feeling when you can SEE the progress being made on a home project. I can get easily frustrated with it because it Always takes twice as long and costs twice as much as thought, of course it does not help matters that we have an old farmhouse that we know was here on earth back in 1850, but have not found exactly when it was built. Many projects have been completed, but always many more ahead! good luck with your current work in progress!

Christie~Very nice job on the Cars painting!! You are so talented and it sure did not take you long to get that done! I will stick to my smaller canvas, fingernails! I willl have to share some picts of my nail work someday, I do love to do nail art. I do mostly handpainted stuff, but I do have the airbrush equipment too, just not as high demand for that as it used to be.

Fit~Sorry to hear you are feeling so bad. There is no other meds they can give you that do not drag you down so much? Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Holy~Would love to see a pict of that dress when you are done! I used to sew but decided I better stop when the kids could understand some of the language I would direct toward my machine, it was not pretty or ladylike! I had my mom adjust it for me so now I just use it in my scrapbook on some of my pages, it works fine for that.

Lauren~Hope Robby is feeling better!

to everyone else, I cannot seem to remember all of the other posts from the past few days that I wanted to address, but I will try to post a little more often.

Take Care
Darcy

oh, I got DD's first present yesturday. I got her the fisher price fp3 player. You can down load anything on it. It is toddler proof. I'm excited. You can google it if you are curious. Its pink I'm gonna get it out an play with it as soon as I can get a free min. maybe next week. My excuse is that I have to down load her fav songs on it.

THey also make a real dig camrea. You can print pics, and you can hook the camera to the tv and see the pics. Its toddler proof too, but dd is to young for that I think.

Hi All,

Kinda depressed here. Looks like my "temp" job (I've been here just over a year) is going to end with me leaving, not getting hired. It's not written in stone, but it's sure not looking good. I am not happy and having a hard time concentrating and making it through the day knowing I have busted arse for nothing.

Cristie, LOVE the Cars plaque! Peter would love it!

Darcy, Robby's feeling better, thanks! Amazing how resilient (sp??) they are!

Holy, Would LOVE to see pics of your dresses.

RX, no prob, I deleted the other thread!

Have a great day all!
