Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again #1056

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears .
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Lavandel - I have NEVER heard of Tuna pizza! I don't think we have it here at all....very interesting.

Zelma - I met my fiance online too!

Hi Ladies - I haven't exercised yet today...but I will! It was pouring all night and all morning...I couldn't even step outside today! So I will be trying to get my strength training in today, but my walking...I don't know...I might have to take a hit to my minutes and try something indoors. Also, does anyone know any good at home (body weight or dumbbell) exercises for men?
Hope everyone is doing well - stay OP!

Hello everyone, had the usual Friday for myself. Cleaned house a little, watched some tv. Should have took my walk earlier than i was going to but it started raining.I hear thunder now...rare but not impossible in Michigan. I heard it's going to snow tomorrow.
Sharon- I have been taking Zoloft for 7 years and it's helped me a lot. Actually i take a generic of it called Sertraline it's much less expensive than the original and works just as well. It's for non-suicidal people that suffer from depressions like a feeling of worthlessness and have a loss of intrest in things they usually enjoy, and post traumatic stress disorders.
Ammi-It's very early in my weight loss, big losses in the first couple of weeks has always been normal for me. It's probably all the water and junk leaving my body. It will slow down to about 1 to 3lbs. a week if I behave myself. I'm following the Weight Watchers plan but I'm not a member anymore. The meetings were too stressful, I'm not comfortable in groups of people I don't know very well. That's why I like it here a 3fc, no sweat. Hope your back feels better soon. I know it does'nt take much for me to throw mine out of whack either.
Luan- Sounds like things have been quite stressful for you lately. I hope things lighten up for you soon. Congrats on the 1.6lb loss hang in there and keep up the good work.

Okee .. just a quick note before I go and get some house work done ..

Last night my hunny and I went to a restaurant to celebrate our "engagement" and my new job ... I had the roast and scoot had the steak .. but I couldnt eat all of mine so scoot had the roasted potato and most of the pork and the crackling lol ... I mainly had the vegetables ... but I did have dessert .. they had a low fat ice cream berry parfait .. I only managed to get through about 1/2 of it so Scoot finished that off too lol.

We walked to the restaurant and back .. oh and we split a 200ml bottle of bubbly wine to toast with lol .. so I dont think I did too bad with the calories for that meal.

Today we got up to go post some packages and we had to get my hunny another suit cos his other one was too big (he has gone from 104 down to a 96 for the jacket and 102 to a 87 for the pants!!!) I feel a little bad really ... there was that little devil on my shoulder today called envy, he looks so nice and slim and yet I dont feel any smaller .. its one of my fat days I think ... I HAD to go and buy a new bra today .. the others are just not doing their job .. it took me AGES to find one that fit ... I got more depressed seeing hundreds of 18 and under and you really had to dig for anything over that .. and when I did find a 22 it only went up to D!!! I am happy about one thing tho ... I used to be a G/H .. my new bra is an E! happy me lol .. still not easy to find .. but they had 2 in my size .. yes .. in all those 100s of bras .. there were only TWO that were my size lol ... still .. at least I have gone down in cup size which was a definite goal lol.

Oh .. just wanted to add .. my hunny and I met online too! My mother had badgered me to join a "dating" site for months after my ex and I split up, I told her I wasnt interested in finding anyone else .. so she wanted me to join just to make friends .. unfortunately with my ex I had pretty much lost track of all my friends because his friends seemed to be the only ones we would socialise with.... so she told me to join it just to make new friends .. she had been a member on the site for months and had met a lot of people .. sooo I signed up for a free month .. and enjoyed it so much I signed up for a 3 month stint. Scoot joined not long after I signed up for the paid membership and we started talking straight away ...
We talked for hours .. then he asked if I had a text phone I said no .. just a regular mobile sorry .. 2 days later there was a package in the post and he had sent me a mobile that could text .. then we were texting each other when he was at work .. back online when he was home .. he lived about 1.5 hours from me .. and in the city there was a group event for members of the site to meet up for a BBQ .. so we agreed we would meet there (I felt safer that way cos it would be neutral territory and with others lol) .. when we both were there other than hi and bye we didnt speak to each other rofl .. we stayed on opposite sides of the yard. When both of us got back home tho we got back on the comp and talked for hours rofl.
I asked him later why he didnt come over and talk to me ... he said "As soon as I saw you I knew you were trouble" roflmao .. I was just too shy to approach first .. but we obviously got better .. and our first dinner together was sort of a set up by our dating site friends .. there were supposed to be a few of them coming over for dinner ... at the last minute they all pulled out so I was a nervous wreck waiting for Scoot to come over knowing we would be alone ... so I cooked him my mince and pasta dish which he had doubles of .. then we spent the rest of the week together cos he had no plans for Xmas lol .. so we regard our Anniversary as Dec 21 which was the date of the dinner .. oh .. and you want to know what we spent the weekend doing??? (21st was a Friday) ... I had my comp in the bedroom ... and one of the most memorable ways to spend a weekend with a new guy in a bedroom??? Listening to Harry Potter on MP3 book 1-3 roflmao... yup ... nothing naughty .. just listening to a kids story and talking ... how memorable is that

So we were definitely a success story from online meeting

Wow, seems like a majority of you guys met your significant other online! I'd never joined a dating site or anything like that...but my friend did, and unfortunately, she had one of the less successful stories. She got engaged to him a month after they started dating (2 months after they started talking), and they moved out and in together...he got her VERY much in debt, then snuck off to Michigan to cheat on her with a bunch of SIXTEEN YEAR OLDS! She had to drop out of college to pay off her debts (getting a full time job), and moved back in with her parents. They were only together about 4-5 months.

You all were VERY lucky that you met someone GOOD!

It's been storming for about an hour now. I absolutely LOVE cuddling & snuggling under the covers during a storm, but Andrew just rolled over and went to sleep. -sigh- So here I am. Yeah, I'm kinda upset, but whatever, right? I shouldn't take too much offense. He's been up since 5am.

I'll be around for a while! Gotta go add some minutes to the exercise thread!

Just a quick question for those that Walk Away The Pounds ... do you use the weights??? I just got it in the post today .. WOW its fun!! Had on my new sneakers (had to buy a pair if Im gonna be walking to work lol . want to be comfy!) and didnt just do the 1mile .. but I ended up doing the 2 mile as well!!

Anyway ... I have my 1kg (2.2lb) dumbells that I use .. if you have the ball weights that they use on the dvd ... how much do they weigh?? Im just wondering if I am using the right amount or what?

I think this dvd will be competing with Richard lol .. maybe a walk in the morning and dance at night .. depending on how long I work lol .. incredible how fast the time goes with the walk

Hi everybody... just rushing through again to let you all know I am thinking of you!!! I did try to catch up on some reading. I know one person (who I have no idea LOL) asked where we got our Gazelles. I got mine at Big 5 Sports store. They did not have them on display but had it in the back room. From what I have been told they no longer make them so this was a clearance. But there are good places to order them on the Internet. You might want to search for a good deal.

Mine is the Freestyle, and I know that is also what Ammi has. There is also a Freestyle Elite which has pistons, whatever that means <G> But I have been told it is a LOT heavier so would not have been manageable for me.. it is more expensive. There is also the Edge which is about $89 or so BUT it has no resistance and is pretty lightweight and in my opinion would not have been worth the effort of doing.

I don't know how I like mine as it is still all over the living room half put together.

Well I am committed to getting up and getting to the 7 AM pool session tomorrow morning since I am picking up my friend. I have been really faithful in going anyway though... it does feel so refreshing and is helpful! 7:00 - 7:45 is lanes (I do aerobics and swim) and 7:45-9:00 is aerobics.

Blessings on all

Cool Good evening

Where did my last post go? I hit a button and everything disppeared.

Well, apologies to all in advance. I am babysitting my sisters kids and have my hands full until tomorrow, so am not afforded the luxury of reading all the updates. No personals today - and due to work travels, not until late next week!

I feel good and bad about today - I conciously made a decision last night to get up at 4am to go to the gym rather than go this afternoon after work, and did great. Unfortunately I met a friend for lunch and I did... 'ok' I think (a filet of sole, and root vegetables) however the sole was crusted with some light romano with a berre blanc sauce (buttttter), and there were potatos.

For dinner, I had a chicken breast and thigh, and some grapes.

Since I've been up for so long, I think all in all that's ok, however not 100% sure so I need to go to fitday.

I have my first trip next week, so I'm apprehensive of how I will do, and not feeling great about my weight loss.

So - question - is one week really 'ONE WEEK' on the Biggest Loser? If so - how on earth do people lose 65 pounds in 7 weeks......

Hi Ladies - I got in a nice chunk of walking this evening with my guy, and it only started lightly raining the last 10 minutes or so, which was good; we did 65 minutes in total. AND...I did my strength training too! I did 20 minutes or that, but I might (if I remember!) do some more reps later on tonight. Well so far today has been good...scale "check-up" was fine by me...hopefully I get good news for my efforts come Tuesday! Hope everyone is well! Stay OP chickies!
