Default Why?

For the past two days I just feel like eating everything in site. Why is this? I have been doing so great...down 7 pounds in 4 weeks. I can't tell a diffence yet in the mirror or in my clothing...when will that happen? I guess I am getting a little discouraged and am turning to food to console myself? Is that right? I'm not sure. All I know is the past 2 days I haven't eaten horribly like I used to, but I have eaten a lot of candy. Any help?

Is there anything different that has been going in the past couple of days? any stress? depression? something bothering you? Usually when these things happen, it triggers something in me that makes me stray from my normal dieting. I am totally a "comfort" eater but the first step is recognizing that this could be what it is. Then you can try to figure out what is triggering this and try to avoid or find other ways to deal with things. I know, sounds easier than done .. but it's equally as hard trying to get over the guilt of splurging off your diet than it is to deal with the underlying issue. But don't let the fact that you have indulged the past couple of days get you down.. just accept that you have, try to figure out why if possible, then move on .. get back on the diet wagon and pick up where you left off. Don't dwell, get back on track on move on! Good Luck!

PMS/TOM makes my appetite CRAZY

Also, if I cut my calories too much, especially protein, it WILL catch up with me. Are you eating enough and is your diet balanced?

Personally, when I eat sugar, all I want is MORE MORE MORE sugar.

I can also relate to feeling discouraged and other emotional/psychological triggers. Food is something I've used MANY times to "console" myself. Try to think of other things you enjoy, (like reading a book, taking a nice hot bubble bath, getting a manicure, anything non-food related) and use this as a reward and to console yourself.

It can be really tough to not see the weight change when you are working SO hard. But, you've done GREAT!!! Congrats on your 7lb loss!!!!

Remember, weight that is lost slowly, with a healthy diet, is weight that will STAY OFF. Weight lost very quickly is often found again (and may bring friends) very quickly.

Everyone IS different, of course, but those are things I think about when my appetite goes out of control.

Good luck! Stay with it, you CAN make it happen!!!! DON'T give up!!!!

Thanks telemetry nurse. I hope you're right. I do enjoy a nice hot bath. I think I'll do that tonight. I have been kind of down lately...not sure why. I have also been tired. I went to bed at 8 pm last night and may do it again tonight. I guess every once in a while your body just needs rest.

Is it TOM? I know that sometimes has something to do with it. *hugs* It could be your body trying to adjust to the weight loss. Maybe try drinking some more water to help fill yourself up. Hang in there girl!
