Default Crock Pot -Scalloped Potatoes

Here is another from the LA At Home Website

Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients:

2 lbs potatoes (about 6 medium)
1 cup water
1/2 tsp cream of tartar
1/4 tsp pepper
3 tbsp light butter
1 small onion, thinly sliced
1 (10.75 oz) can condensed reduced-fat, reduced-sodium cream of mushroom soup, such as Campbell’s Healthy Request®
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp Morton Lite Salt®
4 oz sliced reduced-fat cheddar cheese

Preparation:

Peel and thinly slice potatoes.
Toss slices in water and cream of tartar. Drain.
Put half of sliced potatoes in crock pot coated with cooking spray. Top with half of onion slices, flour, salt and pepper. Add remaining sliced potatoes and onions. Sprinkle with remaining flour. Add butter and undiluted soup.
Cover and cook on Low 7 to 9 hours. (High: 3 to 4 hours).
Add cheese slices 30 minutes before serving.


Makes: 8 servings

Serving size: 1/8 recipe; about 1/2 cup

Not on La program but counting cals, this really sounds good. any idea on the calories per 1 cup? By the way what does the cream of tartar do?

Can't tell you the calories, as we don't count them on LAWL. Cream of tartar thickens it I think. I'm not sure. It makes egg whites stiff, I do know that much.

Do you know, if you double or triple the recipe what the cooking time would be? It sounds like a great recipe for Christmas.
