Default Going to give the sonoma diet a try

Morning all, I've done some research and I've decided to try the Sonoma Diet. I was very successful with South Beach a while back, I thought this seemed similiar, with emphasis on eating real food. It seems like I could really enjoy eating this way. I need to do something and I'm just not good at "watching what I eat", when I do that I just watch it go from my hand to my mouth. I need a plan to follow, I guess that's just my personality. I ordered the book and am anxiously awaiting for it to come. Just a question, I know it's not all about how much you have lost, but has anyone lost weight with this plan? Any tips for me? Looking forward to hearing from anyone.

Welcome skinny Mom. Hope you'll stick around. It's sort of slow around here these days. i suspect quite a few people are already waiting until after the new year to start, WHICH THEY SHOULD NOT WAIT FOR!! So good for you for taking control now, before things get really tough with holiday foods.

This plan won't give you a point by point plan of what to eat, but rather a listing of recommended foods and not recommended foods. The more unprocessed the food is,t he better. lean meats, whole grains, veggies, fruit ( after wave 1),.. dairy is not a big part of Sonoma but we do need to get our calcium. Exercise.. HUGE deal. Not covered in the book nearly enough, IMHO but is as important as eating the right foods.

So I hope you enjoy the book...

Skinny Mom,

I've been following Sonoma since the end of Feb and I have lost 75 pounds. This Sonoma thread has slowed down a lot. It would be interesting to find out if the plan didn't work for some, if they moved on to other things or they are following along out there and just not checking in here. I can say that it has worked for me and I feel great because of eating this way and exercising.

You may want to use one of the other more active exercise threads to report your progress.

Good luck!

Shrinking Mama, Congratulations!!!!!!! That's a serious accomplishment

I'd also love to hear the experiences of others, if it worked or didn't. Thanks for your post

did you follow the plan to the letter ? or did you have a few off days and still lose all those pounds ?
Well done that's brilliant.
do you think the diet itself is any different from just eating well ?
Or is it showing people how to get back to eating unprocessed foods ?
