Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again #1050

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears .
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Hello all!

Just doing a quick fly-by. I'm afraid I went back into Lurk-Mode for too long and can't possibly play catch up now, especially with all the newcomers! So I'll just do a generic to the newbies!

Couldn't stop without saying a big WELCOME BACK! to ShadyPurple!!! Futurediva and Xena - Welcome Back to you too!!!

Michelle - How SCARY! I HATE ice! I have one horrible story involving me, my car, an ice-covered hill and (after I was safe) VODKA! Never so shaken in my life as I was when my car decided to do some 360's in the direction of a swimming pool! I think I'd rather face the bears!

Jilly: Like your new Avatar!

Katt: Your pics on the photo thread are GREAT! You can DEFINATELY see the difference.

Well all, must run! I'll try to be better about posting soon!

hi everyone! hope your monday is going well so far!

misti--i moved to st. louis about 8 years ago, but i think i've been to gray's summit a couple of times--i think purina farm is there, right? that's about all i know down that way. and i've been to branson once with my parents. i was 13 or 14, so everything was boring and stupid (i must have been such a pain at that age!). my husband wants to go sometime and my mom says it's really pretty down there during the holidays cuz all the christmas lights are up, so some year we'll have to go again. i hope you get that gazelle together soon! it sounds like the elliptical i had--i had to get my husband to help with that. but anyway, after hearing you all talk about the gazelle, i'm getting interested in checking them out. let us know what you think!

xena--i didn't know there was a 4 mile WATP either until i was just wandering around in wal-mart and saw it on the shelf. i got it a couple of years ago, but i think i've seen it on amazon since then. it's not too different from the other ones, same steps, but the pace is pretty fast during miles 2 and 3. it's about an hour long (54 minutes, if i remember right). i like it and feel good when i'm done, but it's a hard one! i only do it once a week, if even that much.

angel--that is so great about fitting into your dress!! i have some clothes waiting for me in the closet too, so i know how you feel! wtg on the -4 pounds too!

circles--welcome! i love this place and hope you get as much motivation from it as i have! the women on here are great for advice, support, a laugh, whatever you need!

mechell--glad you and your husband are all right after your crazy adventure with the snow! i hate snow too. i mean, if i can stay home, hey, snow all you want, but it always seems like i have to be out when a blizzard starts!! be careful!!

well, i've had a good morning so far. i got up at 5 again, and did walk and kick with leslie and then a 20 minute dvd called bun battle, with the exercise ball. that was hard!! it's mostly lunges and squats, which i hate!, and then some goofy looking stuff on the ball. about half way through, when i'm dripping with sweat and feeling my rear burn, the guy says "come on! these are your butt's best friend!" and i thought, "ya know, my butt doesn't need any new friends!" it was a rough dvd! then, cuz i'm such a glutton for punishment today, i went to my 45 minute water aerobics class this morning, and while i was there signed up for a new deep water class that mostly works your abs. what is wrong with me? i don't exercise like this!! whatever the change was, i'm happy!! and i got in 95 minutes of exercise today--not too shabby!

so, since my weekend challenge to myself worked so well, i decided to try a weekday challenge to myself. i'm going to challenge myself to get up early every day and do something before work, no matter if i'm going to water aerobics later or not. we'll see how that goes.

hope everyone has a great day! lori

xena--i just went to amazon to see what the name of the WATP 4 mile dvd is. i have "walk away the pounds express-super challenge". there are two other 4 mile dvd's also: weight loss walk:walk 4 miles, and, fat burning walk 4 miles. the reviews for both made it seem like they were older videos that were just re-released. i like the one i have though. just thought i'd let you know...

Wow ... I need to catch up lol .. missed a whole thread!

ANGEL - That is a faboo NSV regarding your dress hun ... I have one of those sorts of dresses in my wardrobe that my dad gave me when I was thin (well ... not as big as I am now rofl), I pulled it out of storage when I was doing a BUNCH of washing a couple of weeks ago and its now hanging in my wardrobe ... Im gonna try it on when I reach the 50lb mark to see how much more I have to go .. but I used to wear it as a jacket instead of a dress cos Im not much into anything that doesnt have legs .. hopefully that makes sense lol.
But it does make you feel great when you try on something that made you feel like you were changing into the Incredible Hulk it was so tight to being able to move a little freer each time Thanks for your condolences, I find myself stopping to have conversations with Gail in my head quite often, used to do that when she was alive too .. you know .. the sort of "oh gotta tell Gail this" etc .. now I just tell her

MISTI - WTG on getting the Gazelle .. you know .. now that Im thinkin about it (and I had another look at Ammi on hers lol) .. I think I have one of those out in the garage rofl .. but over here we call it a strider .. it sure looks the same .. I think my one has a weight limit on it tho and Im well over it lol ... cos its a little rocky when I get on it but ok for Scoot and Ash Might end up setting up a mini gym in my garage or sleep out at this rate rofl. Look forward to seeing a matching piccy of you on yours too And well done putting it together by yourself I really hope you have a visit from the FFM ... just enough of one to at least make you feel like you are doing well scalewise anyway. Keep up your great work tho

RAVEN - WTG on your belly dancing workout!! I have considered doing that sort of thing, but my co-ordination needs a little more work I think lol .. but yeah I have been told its an incredible workout too so very well done!

CIRCLES - Hellooo and a belated welcome on in! Its great to see a newbie just jumping right on in Look forward to seeing you on the boards more, this is a great site for support (which I am sure you will have figured out already reading past posts?) and its always lovely to have another person walking the healthy journey with you .. esp when its a long one

MICHELLE - OMG how scary was your Sunday drive!! And Sunday drives are supposed to be relaxing!! Im so pleased that there are friendly people in your area, and youre in Polar Bear country too!!! OMG (love PBs by the way ... but not without protection in front of me!) Im sure it was a real shocker and it may take you a day or two to get back to the calm you were before .. near misses have a habit of realigning your thinking. Big Huggies. Great NSV about the fitting of your clothes hun .. that is always a nice thing to see

KIMBERLY - Hello Its nice to see an oldie (not that youre old lol .. )back on the boards again It helps to remind us new ones that its a long process with a lot of battles ahead but not to give in to giving up completely Look forward to seeing you on the boards more

SHARON - Well done on a great outdoors workout! Sounds like a beautiful day out too! Good luck on yours (And Ammis) OP plan .. Im sure you can do it

AMMI - Sorry to hear your scales werent being nice to you, but its great that it has motivated you to step up your program (as it were) rather than making you go further off the tracks So proud of you The new DVD sounds great .. I think I have seen the Workouts for Dummies .. but not the 15 minute ones, good luck on your new exercise plans
Was just reading your reply to Teresa regarding weight limits on exercise machines .. doesnt that seem annoying to say the least!! So many of the affordable (semi affordable lol) machines are for those that closer to the 100kg mark .. and yet there are so many people over the limits who are expected to pay an extra arm and leg to be able to afford ones to carry their weight on, then when they lose the weight they have this great big machine when a smaller one would do the job .. its like a motor scooter over here .. when I get my license Scoot is gonna buy me one for when I work nights ... but most of them have a limit of 120kg!! I know Im almost there .. but still .. when Scoot mentioned it to me I was over 140 and it seemed like I would never be able to get one lol .. so there is progress .. just glad I hopefully wont have to wait when I finally sit my test cos I better be under that by then lol.
I have finally worked out how to stop the arms moving on the elliptical lol ... took me a while, but I had a hard time co-ordinating my top and bottom on it so was hoping I would work that out (had read that you could make the top so it wouldnt move). Im still barely lasting a minute at a time lol .. but my boobs are grateful to stop getting hit!
Thanks very much for those lovely words about how I look .. it really helped to put things into perspective .. but more on that later Big Huggies ... by the way .. I think youre lovely too, your smile is the first thing a person (well I) sees and that dont half make you feel like you can achieve anything with such a warmth of a smile like yours
Gilligans Island huh?? Havent seen that for years!! We are talking the TV program arent we?? They havent made that into a movie too?? I am never sure any more lol .. they really need to stop turning great TV shows into movies .. it so rarely works! I wish there was a channel over here with some of my faves from the 80s .. and 70s ... sigh .. to be able to have control over what is on TV lol ..

ANDIE - LOVE your NSV lol .. yes your DH better look out lol WTG!

SANDY - Im so sorry you havent been feeling well and its becoming a battle, but you know its a one month thing as you have gone through it before .. if will power is the issue then instead try tricking your mind and body .. stop counting how long. My will power isnt the best really, I just trick myself out of whatever it is lol .. not to mention I still treat myself almost every day so that I dont binge which I know I would do if I cut things out completely .. mind you .. in the first month I was on Jenny Craig so I had a month with no chocolate and I felt like eating it almost every day .. couldnt go into shops on my own cos I would buy a bar and munch it I wanted some sooo badly .. when the month on JC was over and I was working out my plan .. I decided to incorporate the chocolate into my day, bad I know .. but every time I have failed after a few weeks I have completely cut out the treats and then binged for weeks at a time to make up for it! Thinking about it ... I dont even feel the urge for it every day now .. and I think that is because my mind knows its there for when I really get the urge. Another way I have managed to get through some of the usual barriers ... Im stubborn lol .. some may call that a negative trait in a person .. in this case .. I think its a positive. After going through the withdrawls and headaches that first month ... Im not willing to do that first month over again, and as I am getting rid of the clothes that are gettin too big (even by a little bit) I have no real choice but to keep going down cos I refuse to buy bigger sized clothes any more. Sooo I suppose my trick to losing weight so far is not so much will power ... but a stubborn streak and telling my mind one thing while my body thinks its something else lol. Its great that you are recognising where or when you go off the path .. even better that you find your way back to the main track and want to continue, that is usually the hardest .. and longest .. hurdle Big Hugs.

PATTI - WTG on your working out with a cold .. better than I would be lol .. when I feel sick I just want to curl up in bed and tell the world to go away lol ..

KATY - Hopefully you will be able to get the snow out of the way to be able to get in and out .. that still seems so foreign to me .. having snow on the back yard let alone blocking your door is not something that we have ever had a problem with .. although I do know in the South Island and further up North Island (middle) they get lots of snow in the winter .. it does look lovely really .. but its not as soft as it looks when youre in a snowball fight (grrr). Good luck and KEEP WARM!!

ANGEL - That is one incredible camera lol .. is it a brand you are going to get again?? They are obviously durable lol. WTG on your weight loss!! That is fantastic and its always great to be able to change your ticker isnt it

SHADIE - HIIII and welcome back to the boards We havent met but its great to see members return after a time away Look forward to seeing you on the boards

NANCY - glad you were able to order some swimwear for your holiday .. I hope they fit the way you want .. sorry to hear you have a lot of stress going on at the moment .. but dont be hard on yourself about your goal .. you are doing so great .. and it looks like you are only a couple of pounds away .... not to mention how great your overall loss is .. be proud of yourself in this area of your life hun . you are doing great

LILION - Lovely to see you flyin in lol .. and thankies for the compliment

LORI - I had to giggle at your Butts friend comment rofl .. that definitely made me smile in a big way .. so way kewl about your exercise .. For some reason this last week or two I have just not been motivated to do anything in the way of my "official" exercise .. mind you .. last week was spent cleaning or building the fence with my dad (digging post holes, removing stones, mixing cement etc), so I felt ok about not doing any .. but I should do some today .. other than my minute every few hours on the elliptical lol .. so that will have to be my challenge to myself I think .. good luck with your new challenge .. you definitely did well on your weekend one .. that is the main time I definitely dont plan ANY exercise lol .. I will have to let you know what the WATP one is that I ordered .. I dont think it was any of the ones you listed .. but I got it from Amazon .. its a 2-disc set.

TERESA - Hiya hun .. nice to see you dropping by .. and I know what you mean about the strength you get reading some of these posts

Im sure I have probably missed a few people .. sorry about that .. but HI to Zelma, Kenya, Annie, Kim, Amy, Angie, Xena, Val, Melissa, Kayley, Heather .. and everyone else whose names elude me at the moment (sorry about that!)

Well I will admit I havent been doing great with my exercise .. but then .. I am still losing weight probably more due to not hitting 1500 cal a day let alone 1800-2000 lol .. not the best I know ... but while I love dancing with Richard I just am sooo not into exercise lol .. so Im taking it a little slower this month .. doubt if I will hit my exercise target, but I will do what I can and hope this is gonna be a passing thing lol .. My elliptical and I are gonna have to spend more time together before we like each other rofl .. I dont feel the most co-ordinated on there and at the moment 60 seconds is a killer for me let alone 5 minutes which depresses me a little as I can do 60 minutes of Richard ok (puffin a little and sweating like crazy but still .. ) .. still .. I couldnt do 60 min of Richard when I started this whole journey .. so I will plug away at it and just do those 60 seconds multiple times a day until I can do at least 5 minutes in a stretch and work my way up from that No wonder I hate running rofl.

I was doing my X Stitch last night and I kept looking at my hands .. suddenly they are getting old! I think Im gonna need to get one of those squeezy ball thingys for the hands to exercise them and hopefully tone them up lol .. cos dang they are lookin older than the rest of me .. gawd .. at least I hope they look older than the rest of me .. if the rest of me is getting this saggy baggy then good grief! Even the palms are gettin saggy!! It would be typical that all this weight I have been wondering where its come off from would be all those places you dont measure (the hands, wrist, face, feet!, eeeek) .. Im not sure if baggy hands would be counted as an NSV for the fact that weight must be going or not rofl.

Im finding the week days are becoming harder for me to even think of food, Im just really not interested in eating until my hunny comes home rofl .. then I can eat a decent sized meal .. the rest of the time I feel like I am just going through the motions .. I realllllly want to bake a cake .. but I dont find recipes I like that are low cal lol .. will look a bit more I think ...

I have decided this week I am going to try for no food diary .. maybe that is why I am off food .. having to write it all down just puts too much focus on it ... so I want to see if not counting everything keeps me on track or not, TOM is visiting so maybe this week isnt the best one to start this on lol .. BUT .. I havent put on weight any week that TOM has visited, (thank goodness), so I am hoping that it will work out the same this week for my experiment

Better go .. written a blinkin tome above lol .. gettin typers cramp .. hummm .. theres a point .. with all the typing I do my hands should be nicely toned not baggy!

Huggies all

Love and LAUGHTER!

First of all, thanks for the avatar comments It's actually me standing in front of a bunch of penguins at an aquarium, but I had to crop out the penguins to meet the avatar size requirements here. Anyway, I needed some cheerful comments after the day I've had so far.

How's this for a fabulous way to start a Monday: I got up and did my WATP workout like a good girl, packed my lunch, prepared my bank deposit to drop off on my way to the office, and we even got out the door a few minutes earlier than usuall. We were totally on top of our game for a Monday morning Then the true Monday hit--err, I hit Monday, I guess. I was driving to the first major traffic light on the way to work when this guy coming from the opposite direction decides to make a left turn THROUGH 2 lanes of cars stopped at a light and right out in front of me. I slammed on my brakes as he crossed in front of me, but I still hit him right on the passenger's side. Thank goodness he didn't have a passenger with him at the time. So we pulled into the parking lot of the 7-11 he had been trying to pull into. He is from the city (DC) and speaks almost no English, so I just went ahead and called the police before anything else. This in itself became quite the project. Now, mind you, I am less than 1 mile from my home. My home is technically located in Alexandria, which is split partly into Alexandria City and partly into Fairfax County (this is the most ridiculous thing, and I will never understand why one city would be split into separate counties). So, being so close to home and knowing that I reside in Alexandria City, I call 411 and get connected to the Alexandria City police. I explain the situation and location, and they tell me I am in Fairfax County. SERIOUSLY?! Ugh...so I hang up and call 411 again and get connected to the Fairfax police. I again explain the situation and our location only to find that I have been connected to the Fairfax City police, and I need the Fairfax County police. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! So yeah, it took a good 15 minutes just to finally reach the RIGHT police--good thing it wasn't a real emergency Anyway, I've spoken with my insurance company and am dropping my car off at their approved repair shop tonight (the other guy received a summons for "failure to yield the right of way," so there should be no question as to who's at fault, and his insurance should cover everything). So I will drop off my car tonight and leave it there for them to work on tomorrow. Luckily, I have a laptop for work, so I will be working from home tomorrow and won't have to use any vacation time. Jeff will have to bring me to the polls tomorrow morning before he leaves for work so I can vote.

Oh, I was also supposed to make goodies for a girl in the office whose birthday is tomorrow, but now I can't bring them to her since I'll be carless and working from home. Not a huge deal, but I bought these unhealthy ingredients, and I don't want them sitting in my house, so I'll just have to make it while I'm home tomorrow anyway and bring it in to the office for no real reason other than to get it out of my kitchen on Wednesday

Lilion, I LOVE your avatar! Is that a small version of a bigger pic somewhere? I'd love to know the artist!

Lori, WTG on your challenges! Good luck on this week's upcoming goals!

Hi Teresa!

Nightkatt, what Richard DVD/video do you use? I have Dancin' to The Oldies on VHS, but do you think I can find it anywhere on DVD? I like the idea of going no food diary, esp. if this is the week you're due for TOM (I assume that means the same as AF/Aunt Flo?). It might be a nice relief to just forget about that for those few rough days.

Jill, I'm so glad you're okay, and don't have to worry about ins. or anything like that. Hopefully you get your car back in good shape asap.

Hi Sharon!

So far today has been good - I took DS out in his wagon and did about 3 miles. I'm great at walking, but that's not much use with the extreme weather we have here combined with my asthma (and the weight doesn't help). I'd love a treadmill! The camera was a Minolta something or other, nothing fancy. I'll probably get the same one again if I can find it (and get DS a Fisher Price digital camera for Christmas ).

Hello Yall

Well today is really cold out and the winding is blowing like crazy. Man I cant wait until June! We dont really have a Spring here.LOL My workout yesterday was great. I could really feel it afterwards. Thanks for all the support everyone.

to all the newcomers. Hope to get to know you all.

Michelle- Yeah Hawaii would be great right about now. My parents are actually going to Mexico in January and I get to watch the house. Lucky me. Im really glad that your okay from your adventure with nature and the polar bears. That kind of stuff is so scary to me. Thank god you were being watched. Have a good one.

Ammi- Yeah I like the belly dancing but man I dont like how my stomach just keeps on going! haha Well hopefully I will have abs after I finish my journey. LOL I finally found out to do the pictures on here. Im a little slow when it comes to pictures on sites and stuff. Alaska is a huge state that is very spread out. It would be awesome if Michelle and I lived closer then we could have coffee Thanks for the support.

Nancy- Thanks I like this picture best of all my other ones. Im actually smiling in a good way. Hope everything is great with you.

Katt- Thanks for the support. Yeah my balance is off most of the time but it does give me a good workout. Hope all is well with you.

Jill- Thank God your okay. Im sorry your Monday wasnt the best. Hope it all changes for ya soon.

I will check back in later. Im going to workout again.

Hi All,

It’s 10 pm here and all is well with being OP. I am so tired, so it won’t be long until I am going to sleep and then come tomorrow morning I will be starting my second day back OP. One day at a time, I know that I can do it.

Angel - that’s awesome that you lost 4 lbs, I bet you are still smiling about it It doesn’t matter whether it took you a week or a month to lose that, a loss is a wonderful loss

Katt and I both have the same Richard Simmons DVD. It’s the Disco Sweat one. If you have your Richard work out on video couldn’t you find somebody to record it onto DVD for you? I bought a combination DVD/VCR and I am in the process of putting all my videos onto DVD it takes far less room on the book shelves If I lived closer I would offer to convert your DVD for you, but I am sure you could find somebody closer.

Shady - oh my goodness, it’s a day of returning friends today isn’t it. Welcome back, it’s so lovely to see you here again. What’s been going on in your life since you last wrote? How is the family, how’s the weight? How’s everything??

Kayley - I am glad to see you pop on to write a quick post. Much better to see you say hi than not see you here at all. Hopefully you will be able to write a longer post soon and let us know all your news.

Nancy - gosh you aren’t far from 278, and who knows, you might just have a surprise on the scales before you go and meet that goal. Either way I am sure you will have a wonderful vacation, and I hope those bathing costumes you ordered will fit great.

Lilion - glad to see you come out of lurk mode Any news on your nephew?

Lori - you sure did a lot of exercise today. Had to laugh at what you said about your butt not needing any new friends I hear you on the lunges and squats, I don’t mind squats, but I just cannot stand lunges.

Teresa - I know what you mean about feeling stronger when you have been here reading posts. It’s amazing how the need to go off plan lessens if not disappears after reading through all the posts here.

Katt - oh I didn’t realise you could stop the arms moving on an elliptical, can’t you tell that I have never used one. I am glad you figured out how to stop the arms and that your boobs are getting a rest from being hit now LOL

Do you like the Work Out for Dummies DVD that you’ve got? I like the 15 minute ones because it’s always easy to squeeze 15 minutes into a busy day. I mean I love my Richard Simmons DVD but the hour it takes to do isn’t always easy to do. I wonder if he does a 15 minute work out thing lol.

I am glad what I said about your photos helped cheer you up. Funnily enough the other day I was looking at my hands and thought they were looking old. They say if you pull your skin up on the back of your hand and see how fast or slow it goes back it gives a good indication of if you are getting old. Well let me tell you, I am ready to be put out to pasture if my skin is anything to go by lol. Still I guess it’s better to have old hands than an old face

Daren bought me the whole set of Gilligan’s Island on DVD for my birthday this year. I used to watch the show as a kid and LOVED it. A while back I watched a film called Return to Gilligan’s Island, and I waffled on so much to Daren about how much I loved the show. So he got the idea to buy me the DVDs. Apparently they never showed it over here, so I get to see the show all over again, plus have the joy of introducing Daren to it. He loves it too, he’s had quite a few laughs from it.

Now if only they made DVDs of the Love Boat I would really be in seventh heaven. Gilligan’s Island, Little House on the Prairie, The Brady Bunch, and The Love Boat were huge faves of mine when I was a kid, heck they still are. Yes I will admit to liking the Brady Bunch, and I love the films they did a while back. Very funny. I have never looked into getting the B Bunch on DVD, but I am in the middle of getting the full set of the LHOTP DVDs, and of course have Gilligan’s Island. BUT I can’t get The Love Boat sob

Jill - It’s a shame isn’t it when we have to crop our photos to fit the avatar size. I would have loved to see the penguins you mentioned. Any chance of you putting it on the pic page?

I am sorry to hear about your car accident today, thank God nobody was hurt. My mum always says everything happens in 3s. You and Michelle make 1 and 2, I hope if there is a 3rd incident today with one of the ladies here that the outcome is a good one. I am not normally superstitious but mum really did drive that everything in 3s thing into my head L

Sharon - you really were heading for an early night. I could do with one myself. It was the kids first day back to school after the hols, so I was up early for the first time in a week, then I cleaned right through the house, plus I did my 90 minutes of exercise. I really am flagging now.

I am really glad to hear that you stayed OP today, one day down, another one here by the time you read this.

Raven - oh I thought it would only be me who had the belly that just doesn’t want to stop LOL. I also have an ileostomy, very like a colostomy so belly dancing with a flopping bag on my tummy wouldn’t make me feel very sexy either

Brenda - have I missed something? I thought you only recently started a new job in a clothes shop. Did that not work out? Or are you doing two jobs now? Well for whatever reason you started a new job today I am really glad your first day went so well.

Annie - wishing you the very best for tomorrow when you have your procedure done. I hope and pray that it will all go well and that you have a quick recovery

Ok well I am going to check my emails now and then it’s bed time at long last, it’s been such a long day. Take care all and I will see you all tomorrow

Hugs,

Ammi

Hi Ladies - Just checking in...I'm doing okay. I am more on track than I was recently, so that's good...I still need to push on with exercise though. I will try to get in some upper body strength training today. Odd question here...for those of you who track full measurements: when did you see a big change in the size of your calves? For a goal I'm interested in a pair of high boots, but right now my calf is about 2.5-3" too big....I have NO CLUE how long that would take me, or how many pounds I would need to lose for those inches to come off there. Any ideas? Well, I'm off! Hope everyone is doing well Stay OP chickies!

Jill, I am so sorry you've had a bad day. I can't allow myself to get started about people
having a drivers license and yet can't speak English. I live in a college town and it's bad here too. The police protection system there is insane. I'm very glad you finally got through to the correct department and they handled the accident for you. I know what a hassle it is to be in an accident, and I'm so glad you're ok.
You're very brave for baking for your co-worker. I don't think I could. ....I know I couldn't, at least not today.
You're a great example to follow.

Ammi & Katt, Thanks so much for your encouraging words. I'm very glad to know,Katt, that you don't crave naughty stuff too much. Maybe when I get past the month time period I won't be craaving stuff either. My DH means well, but he brings home chips. I fussed at him the last time and his response was, "I only bought you ONE bag, you'll have to make it last ya a long time.".....well, I did, it lasted a week. BUT I shouldn't have had any!

I'm totally listening to what you're saying, Everyone says I'm stubborn too, so I'll try some of your tricks, Katt. And, frankly, when I have a bunch of bad carbs, I feel so yucky and sluggish.

When I started this journey this last time I was determined to take it one meal or even one hour at a time if I had to. I just need to get back into that frame of mind, and I've done ok today.

I also do much better when I'm online with you girls every day. I gotta figure out a way to get the time to get on line a couple times a day to stay caught up. Any suggestions???
Misti, I know you've been working a lot of overtime. How do you manage your time, do you have kids at home with homework, sports, etc??
I know I can't be the only one with kids at home, in sports and work full time.

Hey, I do have SOME good news. My SD has postponed her wedding til March.
:woo hoo: I'm SO relieved. So is everyone else. DH had a talk with her......after his other daughter told him how stressed she was making the dress. Of course, the SD who's getting married, made it out like she was the victim of all us. But who cares. All I know is everyone else involved in the actual work of the wedding, feels a lot better. And, this gives me the perfect way to make her do her favors, flowers etc.

Hey, did anyone see Oprah today??? There was a chick on there who had bariatric surgery. They talked briefly on how fat people are the last group of discrimination.
DUH! Well, I have a sad and recent story about it. DH & I went out Saturday night for a "date." First one we've had in a while. We went to Red Lobster. (naughty, i know, they are having their endless shrimp promo) The first problem was the waitress was SO loud
when she spoke to us...like we were morons. DH asked her to please not be so loud so
the three of us were the only ones that could hear our conversation. He was actually very
discreet. The waitress quieted down a little, but had a mad face. We ordered, got our salads, and that was good. Then, we weren't even half done with our salads and she brought dh's soup. He asked that she please keep an eye on us and not bring more food til we were ready. That was cool. She was responsive. So we thought!! When she brought his soup, she didn't bring a spoon. Can you beleive it??? We waited literally over 5 minutes, didn't see her, so dh went to the front of the restaurant, asked for the manager, told him the situation about the spoon, the soup, the loudness etc. We thought, ok, we'll get a new server, and things will be good. Nope! The manager never brought a spoon, but brought our meals. DH's soup was cold (it was clam chowder, he's a new england boy and
rarely gets decent clam chowder)
Well, I was very proud of dh for not yelling or throwing a fit. He just simply told the manager (who, by way, could not have been even 23 years old) what our expectations are when we go out. Food brought to us at the right time and to be treated respectfully. DH did say that it was "b s" what the waitress did with the soup/spoon etc. I swear all the manager heard was the "b s" dh said.....I gotta tell ya, I barely heard it and I was right there. So, dh said we were just gonna go somewhere else. Never did we get an apology, but a "Do not use profanity." ......followed by "Fine, that's your choice."
So we left and our night was shot. I really resent that we're treated like low class idiots
cuz of our weight. Plus, it makes me very, very sad. I guess we'll never be back to Red Lobster.
We rarely go out to eat just because of how we're treated.
Oh, well, can't cure "stupid" right? This is where I always get into trouble. I don't REALLY care what people think, but it sure bothers me when they are mean.
Silly, huh? I sound like a little kid after someone calls me a name.
sigh, well, I gotta pull dinner out of the oven. IT'S AN OP TURKEY POT PIE.

Thanks for letting me vent and ramble. And again, Katt and Ammi, thanks for your
encouraging words.
:hugs: to all
