Default 300+ And Ready To Try Again..#1049

We are a group of individuals who weigh or have weighed 300+, or near there. This group was formed to provide a place for others like us to find support and hope. We are aware of the distinct problems that come with weighing over 300 lbs.

We want to invite everyone to join us in our journey.
We share laughter and tears .
We share what works for us and what doesn't.
We often use a "Topic of the Day" for discussion.

Motivational Monday
Tuesday Tips
Wednesday Wish List .. and What you are doing to obtain it.
Thankful Thursday
FUN Friday ... don't wait until you lose your weight.
Sit-up Saturdays - any physical activity
Share your Success Sunday

These are not required topics ...just ideas to share. We often find them very helpful. We also share heartaches and fears ... joys and celebrations.

We have several extra threads going on simutaneously such as Monthly Challenges, Weekly Weigh-ins, Recipes, Bios, and more. Please feel free to check them all out.

We have found this thread to be more than just a support group...
we have found it to become a home. We invite you to join us.

WELCOME!

I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.

If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.

Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!!!

Annie & Katt, I'm so sorry for both of your losses.

Nothing exciting going on here today. Cleaning, as per usual. Oh, I do have a NSV - my mom gave me a dress months ago; it's long with short sleeves and buttons all down the front, a spring sort of dress. Very simple but pretty. Anyhow, when I got it, I could hardly stuff my upper arms into the short sleeves - they went in eventually but the seams looked ready to burst! And the front had a good 4 inches or so between the buttons, and that was when I was sucking everything in and pulling hard on both sides. I tried it on yesterday and it fit!!! There were some buttons missing, but I picked some up yesterday to replace them. I'll probably wear it with a cardigan - spring dress or not, that dress has been teasing me for so long that I plan to wear it to rags!

Hope everyone has a good Sunday!

Xena--welcome back!!! I'm so glad we have such a great group of women here that we feel welcomed instead of shamed when we return (lord knows I've done it more than once now!). I've seen some very unsupportive participants on other boards online where when someone returns, they're practically given the third degree as to why they haven't been successful...as if that would help And for that, I'm thankful for everyone who's here, whether just returning, just joining, struggling for years, or here to share success

I'm off to go grocery shopping--time to stock up on some good foods for the week!

Talking I got the Gazelle!!!

I can't believe it! I got the Gazelle Freestyle! I had searched all over the place locally and was considering buying one online. But I checked one place that I thought I had checked before and one of their stores had it!! I just dragged the box up three flights of stairs!!

Also got a nice new pair of Saucony sneakers on sale! I just can't stand to wear those Brooks ones any longer... should have cut the loss on those long ago as they are SO uncomfortable!

Raven... so glad you shared the picture! It is always nice to be able to "see" who we are talking to!

I got the Gazelle about three-fourths put together... hopefully the hardest part is done. But I got tired!! Will get back to it. I think I am going to be able to do it by myself though.

Glad you are encouraged by the forum!!!!

Default Hi

Hi All

I posted out on the main board. Misti suggeted i join you in the numbered boards, so here I am.

Misti I hope you like your gazelle when you get it put together. My nephew did mine, DH and myself are terrible at things like that. i can't say much about the gazelle to you, I never really used it like I should. I do have 2 friends that swear by it, they never fully stuck with it but when they use it they see great results. I wish you the best with yours.

Hi Circles... glad you made your way over here! I am getting a workout of just trying to put the Gazelle together! Another "chick" here.. Ammi, whom I am sure you will hear from... is a big fan of hers and I hope I am as successful with mine as she has been.

Yah that is the problem with this stuff... ya gotta actually use it, tee hee.

hey everyone..just a few quick personals.

MISTI~Glad you found the Gazelle. I can't wait to get some exercise equipment. And hope the new shoes help!

Raven~Good for you getting your workout in! Yes its so cold! I hate the blowing snow! I have a friend up here who just got back from Hawaii...I am jealous to say the least!

CIRLCES~ Glad you joined!

Well I had a really scary afternoon. We decided to go driving a little bit outside of town. And we were driving along the road and all of the sudden the snow blew all over the road and the road disappeared. And then the wheels caught some ice and we flew off the road on the the side! We were seriously stuck but we were able to work the car out. Then we got back on the road and the ice was so bad we flew back off the road AGAIN! And this time we were really stuck. I started to panic because I realized OMG this is a lake! The lake was frozen but I was afraid the cars weight was going to break the ice. But it turns out we were about an inch from the water. (thanks God) Then we tried to go back and forth to get out again and the car almost flipped over. And if all that wasn't enough the car started to sink in the snow because it was so deep. But then finally some cars came and a nice couple towed us out. So we were VERY lucky! Also just a side note...we were outside of town where the polar bears are...we would have had to walk back to town if no one would have showed up. Yeah that would have been scary to say the least. My guardian angel worked over time today! Well I feel better venting about it...we were really shaken up.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

Wow, its been a long time since i posted here. For those of you who may not remember me, I am Kymberly, and i used to post on here last year. I havent been posting, but i have kept up with the threads, and i must say, you ladies have been my inspiration and motivation! I remember Ammi and Jillybean, and Dogpal, but i dont think any of you other ladies were here at the time i posted.
A little about me: My highest recorded wt was 314, i am now around 200lbs, give or take a pound. The weightloss has been a constant struggle in my life, as i am sure you can relate too! This past year, i have lost maybe 20lbs, but i am 100% committed to losing the rest of my wt, no matter how long it takes. I hope its ok for me to post here, i feel like i already know all of you since i have been following all the threads. I look forward to posting regularly, and meeting some new friends! I absolutely LOVE reading the posts everyday, it really keeps me motivated and makes me feel like i am not alone in this struggle.
Anyway, its good to be back, and i hope to post a pix of myself this week so you can put a face to the name. Have a great night everyone, and i must say, Ammi, you look wonderful, you have done so well this year, Congratulations!
Peace and Happiness,
Kymberly

Welcome Circles, glad to see you posted here. This a wonderful group of people. I have only been here for a little but I already know where to turn to when I feel like giving up.

Angel - Great job on the dress...it must have made you feel so good...I am with you on wearing the dress even if the season is wrong....you probably will not even feel cold being so proud in that dress. =)

Mechelle - How scary, thank God you are alright. I am so glad we do not have that kind of weather here in California, I don't know if my nerves could handle driving in that kind of weather.

Misti - Let us know how the Gazelle works for you. I have heard a lot of it, but have also noticed the weight limits on them so I guess I have to wait until the weight comes off (that's ironic)

Hugs,

Teresa
