This weekend We are having a party for my Husbands movie wrapping up it's filming. It's a big deal and there are going to be a ton of people there. The food will be out all night(from 4pm to 3am) open bar all night, for free and lots of mingling, and socializing. I would normally drink alot of wine a a shindig like this, and eat what I wanted. I am planning on saving my three fruits for my wine, but I don't know if three glasses will be enough. Do I just drink what I want, then work my butt off, to get back to my same weight, or do I feel deprived all night and not drink very much??
I need some insight from you veteran LAWL'ers!
Any advice is appreciated, even if it's not what I want to hear.
Stay as OP as possible, now that being said....stock up on some lemons and enjoy yourself, I am sure these shindigs don't come often and are hard earned. IF you go over a lil' bit in anything let it be veggies, consider doing wine spritzers with a white diet soda half & half with wine, then you could have 6 glasses instead of 3.
Remember nothing tastes as good as thin looks and you deserve the healthy lifestyle you want, don't throw away what you have already accomplished on one night of wonderful bliss.
Candace-making wine spritzers is a great idea-especially since (and I know you don't want to hear it)-a glass of wine on LA is really only 1/2 a glass. The serving size is 3 oz and most wine glasses hold 5 or 6 oz. So-try the spriters, drink a glass of water between every glass of wine and position yourself as far away from the food as possible.
Oh-and we make our wine spritzers with selzter . . .
I know it's easier said than done-but you can do it!
* One 3.5oz glass of wine contains about 80 calories.
* One 5oz glass of wine contains about 100 calories.
* One 5oz glass of light wine contains about 80 calories.
* One 12oz wine spritzer contains about 120 calories.
* A wine spritzer with 2oz of wine and 6oz of seltzer contains about 40 calories.
* A white wine spritzer with 4 oz. white wine topped with club soda) - 80 calories.
Note on Wine Calories
While a 5oz glass of wine/day at 100 calories may seem harmless, but over two and a half weeks that's approximately an extra 1,700 calories. This is equivalent to about a half a pound of body fat. That's about 10 pounds of body fat, per year.
You know the part that you don't want to hear, so I'll stick with suggestions for moderating yourself at the party.
Eat OP beforehand, and make sure that there are some OP appetizers for you to have at the party. Put them in your meal plan for the day, so that you're covered there. As for the wine, I would make spritzers with club soda or sparkling water and then in between glasses of spritzers, have just the sparkling water with lemon. You will still feel like part of the party, but will hydrate yourself better.
Yeah-I just need to follow my own advice more often!!! I had such good intentions last weekend-but darn my friend for putting me in charge of baking the cookies! And then they bought a bottle of malibu rum! What's a girl to do?
Maybe ask..."3 glasses won't be enough for what?" Certainly it's enough fluid to sustain your thirst. I'm sure you can still have a great time being yourself without over-drinking. Then think about whether it's really worth it based on your goals for yourself and make the decision that best suits you.
