Hey girls! Sorry ive been kinda MIA latley. Just been kinda tired and stuff. My husband goes in tomorrow for surgery on his legs (again) so ive been stressin about that. No weight loss latley, but its ok. Ive been eating ok but havent felt up to exercising. All weekend i didnt get off my butt hardly and im feelin bad about it. But maybe now since my hubby will be home during the day for the next month I can go for walks by myself during the day while he watches Jay, instead of waiting until 7:30 at night when jays in bed and im overly tired already.
My husband is driving me crazy latley. Now that he found out hes not getting discharged early fromt eh marines because of his legs hes thinking about reenlisting agian! UGH!! I just wish the man would make up his freakin mind! We probably wont know until like a month before he gets out because he keeps changing his mind.. Oh well. I dont care either way what he does, i just wish he woudl MAKE UP HIS MIND! lol.
Me on the toehr hand.. Im gettin ready to start some at home school stuff. I need my highschool diploma and i found a program where i can do it at home and my husband ok'd it. Then after that im going to do another at home college thing and get my associates degree in early childhood education and try to be a teachers aid or something. WEll have to see AFTER i get my highschool diploma. Looking back i wish i had really just finished the last 5 months of highschool and graduated... But i had gotten married and didn twant to be away from Jason lol .. Oh well. Im REALLY looking forward to starting the school. OK well im gonna go. Hope yall are doing ok!
Hugs
I hate to burst your bubble, but there are actually only 5 weeks until Thanksgiving. Trust me. I'm a college student who doesn't get to go home ever. I've been counting down for a month. 26 days till I'm back at home for a week! yippee!
Today will be a major test of my will power. A bunch of people I work with are heading up to Springfield to go to Cheddars. Never been, and I really shouldn't cause money is tight. However, I never get to hang with them cause I always have school stuff. So, I'm gonna go... I just can't get anything too big or expensive. wish me luck!
Heather: Best wishes to your hubby on a good speedy recovery, and to you on going back to school! That's wonderful!!!
spillthebeans: I hear ya on the bad weekend...get back on track!
dolly: Hi!!!!! Hope you're having good day!
Well I think I'm going to stop counting calories for awhile. It's driving me insane!!! I think I'm going to measure the foods I do eat, focus on portions control, which is my nemisis lately, make better decisions, and see if that helps....I have gained 3 Lb's the past few days, and not sure what is the deal! I'm starting to pack on "winter weight"! When it gets cold, I tend to eat and eat and eat...like a squirrel packing it away for winter...it's silly! I just need to change things up I think. Hopefully this works!
Missindy- I just looked at Cheddars online menu. It seems like they have A LOT of healthy options. I suggest you look over the menu and choose before you go what you are gonna eat (have a plan).
I missed you guys! I have been SO out of the loop lately. Last week I was on vacation and then the week before I was so covered up with things to do I didnt have time to come and chat with you guys!!
So last week on vacation was horrible eating wise. See my mom is very thin but can eat all the time and still look great. So thats what she did ALL week (we were on vacation with her-- which was a blast). So I'm in this motor home with her and so I know everytime she gets a snack. That leads to me snacking. This kind of goes back to my childhood when she would fuss at me for snacking and eating too much. So I would always watch for her to go and get something to eat so I could go snack and she couldnt fuss at me cause SHE was doing it too. So basically I just ate all week.
The good news is I still lost a half a pound when i weighed in for my weight challenge at work. So this week I am back on track with my eating and exercising. And I feel better already!!!
heres to a good week!!
Mickey- I stopped counting my calories for the same reason. I hated it and was TOO obessessed with it. I just watch my portions and kind of gauge my calories for each meal and make sure they are in a healthy range.
Marineswife- welcome back! I hope things get better with Hubby. And good for you for getting your high school diploma! That takes guts and lots of time!!
Hi Guys
That's my embarrased face because I've been gone from 3FC for so long. I think the last time I posted was a few months ago...I have been so busy at work and just in life in general that my diet has totally fallen by the way side. It wasn't until I got back from a conference from work this past week that I realized I need to get back on 3FC. I have totally picked up some of my old habits that got my overweight to begin with -- binge eating, not paying attention to how full I am, etc. I gained 3 pounds last week while I was gone, though I am sure a lot of that is water weight. I haven't gained a lot of weight the past few months, but I just feel like I am not treating my body in the way that I used to. Anyway, so I want to get back to posting on 3FC, counting my calories, really pushing myself at the gym, and just feeling like my old self. I know a lot of this has to do with changes in my life recently (a lot of traveling, and I broke up w/ my boyfriend of 3+ years), but I can't let excuses get in my way. If anything, those are things that should push me to care MORE about myself! Ok, well I am going to end this insanely long post and just say, "Hi!"
looks like it might be the week for a reunion on here - a few familiar faces that have been gone for a while.
i have spent the last 2 weeks in limbo but have been checking up on the boards daily. just getting my head into the right space. alot of emotional issues have surfaced and i am starting to work on them seriously. there is like a whole novel on it all on my blog - i won't go into it right now here.
things are better. i am back on WW and am monitoring my foods but really am focussing on getting better stuff in my diet. i made my lunch today which was a breakthrough and am eating more vegetables and fruit which helps to bulk out my food for the day while not sacrificing pts. i put on nearly 2kg in the past 2 weeks while in my slump but am looking forward to a loss this week as i continue to "do good".
heather - fingers crossed for your hubby i hope the op goes well
spill - congrats on your engagement. i have been meaning to post on your other thread but kept forgetting.
canadianmickey - don't fret too much about those 3lbs. keep eating properly, get in some exercise and give it a few days and then weigh in again. chances are you were just having a bad day
slimmingdown - i am with you. here's to a GREAT week!
michelle - insanely long post! no way! i am glad to see you back though - i knew you would. i am also proud of you for noticing that you have backtracked and are taking the steps to get back on track.
... So I'm coughing up $1000+ and buying myself a treadmill.
I get to go test them out this week, and get a sweet deal from a family friend that sells gym equipment for a living.
Girls... this might just be my comeback.... scratch the "might" ... it will.

Well today I got up early and went for a walk/jog for an hour, something I haven't done for awhile, it's been so rainy and blah outside. so I feel pretty good right now! I made chicken, potatoes and veggies and sald last night for dinner, and watched my portions, especially on my potatoes. I thought I did pretty well!
Question: When you first started portion control, did you just use the regular measuring cups and such for baking to measure your food??
Slim Thanks for the advice! Seems like you are doing well on that way of doing things! The more people I chat with the more I find people doing it this way.
Michelle Good to see you back!!! Hope it is a good week for you!
Daisy Hi girl! Good to see you! ((HUGS)) I hope today is a good day for you! Love you chica!
trnsfrmnreplace Wow, I wish I had room for a treadmill. My parents have one, but I wouldn't have a clue how to use it! LOL! Happy shopping! Have you ever seen the music video where they use 6 treadmills and do a routine on them....VERY cool! It by a group called Ok Go...song is called "Here it Goes Again". Very entertaining!
Ok, so there is only 5 weeks til Turkey day--- ARGH!!!!
I weighed myself like five million times this morning...it said 175, but I don't believe it, so I just put 176, and will mark it down to 175 on Thurs/friday if it still reads that...maybe it will read lower
Ok, Welcome back ladies!
Trnsfrmr: congrats on the purchase...what a great investement!
PS.Canadian Mickey, I tried to get up this am to workout, but instead hit snooze then reset my alarm for an hour later....crikey! Ur my workout idol!
I cannot get warm today in our office. It is so cold and I even have a lap blanket. I am going to have to go get some warm tea or hot chocolate to warm up. Another topic my dog had surgery on her knee about 7 weeks ago and last night she started limping again. The vet just thinks I may have walked her a little to far and gave her some pain medicine. I hope that is it and she did not reinjure her knee. I did make it to the gym this morning and did the elliptical and lots of crunches.
spillthebeans: Way to go lose!
Candian Mickey: I use the regular measuring cups to measure my foods and I also have a digital scale to measure stuff as well.
trnsfrmnreplace: I am so jealous! I wish I had my own treadmill or elliptical, I had to wait for someone to get off this morning at the gym
DaisyBoo and miss michelle: Welcome back!
Slimming Down: Congrats on still losing on vacation! I am really nervous about my vacation in a few weeks, I just know I am going to blow it.
Thanks for the welcome back everyone This morning I did NOT want to get up and workout, but I remembered posting here yesterday and making this my comeback....seems like we've got a lot of that going around!!
Mickey, I definitely used measuring cups when I first started paying attention to portion sizes. I didn't realize how small a quarter of a cup was! Now I don't really need to because I can eyeball how many cups something is. Also, I LOVE that O.K. Go song!! That music video is hysterical!!
Ok ladies, I am back as well. I am now at my parents and two days into my new job. I am loving it, I think it may be a longterm (years and years) type job that I will really enjoy while I get my degree. Also they have a weight/workout room that I have already signed up for. I am going to start working out after work to avoid the traffic. I just have to make sure I bring my workout clothes. I have been bringing my lunch and other than drinking too much coffee things are going pretty well.
I am hoping to be more consistently on here...but really busy with the new job. Have a great week ladies!
heather - Good for you about the diploma. Breaking into the school system is a great career choice. I hope things work out for you.
spill - Thanks for reminding me how long till thanksgiving lol I had unfortunately forgotten all about the challenge.
missindy - Hope you behaved yourself at cheddars...
amanda - Haha my husband calls me a squirrel sometimes, says I am packing it in for winter lol. Counting calories can drive you nuts. Good luck with portion control. I used a food scale and normal measuring cups when doing portion control. You can also estimate the size of portions by utilizing the size of your palm I hear.
slimming - Great job on that half a lb...I gained some with the stress of moving and the new job. Boo huh?
michelle - OMG you are back! Welcome back girly, hope things are going well for you.
daisy - Glad you are back Daisy...going to read your blog right now...I so need to catch up!
maja - That is awesome about the treadmill...you will have no excuse now!
dolly - Oh poor puppy, I always hate it when pets aren't doing well. Great job on the gym, keep up the good work.
