Default Whole Foods chat for week of Oct. 23 - 29

(sorry about the diff. in title for the thread - should have cut & paste!)

Eeek! Saw the scale move UP for the first time since changing my lifestyle. That's the big downside to weighing daily. BUT, I promised myself that if I did that (the daily weigh-in's) then I would remain very conscious of how the body works - ups and downs are normal - and they vary widely by person based on current weight. So, for me - an extra pound is nothing special.

BUT, it is important that it came after the first night we ate out - even though I stil think I did very well. The difference in the foods I've been feeding myself and the way a restuarant cooks things was telling on my scale this morning.

I made a minor adjustment for today and should be able to see a negative again soon!

Have a great week everybody!

Alison, any move up that quickly is water weight--extra salt and even healthy carbohydrate (a good thing) can cause that. I'm sure it comes off very quickly.

I think my post-partum weight-loss pass has just expired. I'm don't appear to be losing any more, unless I work it. Eating was terrible from a whole foods perspective this weekend, although only moderately bad calorie-wise. I'm almost always good getting exercise (I do triathlon and am training for a half marathon right now), so it is mostly the eating I need to keep in check.

I'm also travelling for business Tues/Wed of this week, so that will be a challenge. I think I'm going to look for salads, even though I'm not a salad girl, just to try to keep on track.

Inconceivable-don't panic too much about the scale. I can fluctuate 3 pounds from one day to the next for no reason I can find.

wndranne-I hope the traveling works out for you. I hate having no healthy options available when I'm trapped at some conference.

This weekend was not a resounding success. Friday night's camping trip included 2 s'mores, oops. I ate too much at a bonfire on Saturday also. Sunday was better and hopefully this week will be healthy. I've got a couple kiddos sick so we're going to be hanging out at home more, which always makes eating well easier, at least for me.
