I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for the Amazon "store" in the upper right hand corner of the screen on the PURPLE tool bar. A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.

Okay well I never hit 300 but I think 280 is darn close enough!! I have been on a losing streak all month thanx to calorie counting, finding fitday and I also found this which has helped me immensely:
I AM DOWN 3.25 POUNDS THIS WEEK!! (Since last Sunday) I AM SO EXCITED!!! THAT IS A TOTAL OF 8.25 POUNDS JUST IN OCTOBER ALONE!!!!!! WE CAN DO THIS GIRLS!!!!!!!!
Okee .. just got back from our new "house" lol .. well .. it will be on Friday .. just signed a tenancy agreement with the tenant ... and in a few min we will be going to sign the mortgage papers with the lawyer
Had a quick dinner at Subway (my fave!) ... so just having a quick break before we go ..
just wanted to say .. Tiffers I love it that you are picking out some positives in your day .. I hope others do the same .. may help those that are having a hard time dont you think??
I just read how you are starting at 1500?? Hun that may be a little low to start with... most of us that start over the 300 start off somewhere between 1800-2000 so that you dont lose it too quickly or starve your metabolism (which is when it will stall and you wont lose anything .. which causes a lot more stress). Others may think different .. but 1500 and lower is not too good to do ... as you will see from my past posts recently I have been struggling to get up over the 1500 .. I know Im still losing weight ... BUT Im struggling to lose the pound and a bit because my metabolism is dropping ... Ive taken some wise words on here and have bought myself some mixed nuts (dont like dried fruit lol) to nibble on occasionally to up my cals while not having to eat too much as I really have no appetite for food lol ...
Okee .. my 5 positives today:
1 - Signed the tenant to our new house!
2 - Signed the paperwork to buy our new house for my dad!
3 - Have given the house a great clean .. halfway anyway lol .. but its looking lots better and can finish it tomorrow
4 - I got a BRILLIANT welcome home from our dogs when we were out with the tenant (only gone for an hour max lol) .. so will probably get that again when we get back from the lawyers!
5 - I managed to get all my Pogo badges early this week!! rofl
Jasmine ... WTG on your loss hun ... ab fab work ... isnt fitday a gem to use rofl .. I was soooo glad to get it! And this place is definitely a godsend
Hey everyone just checking on here real quick. Stayed OP through out the whole weekend. I took a break from working out Saturday...but got in 35 minutes today. Its always so funny how I drag around looking for excuses not to work out. I spend more time *pondering* exercising than actually exercising.
To all who have had NSVs and losses...Congrats!
To all those struggling and sick..hope you feel better soon!
Hope to get in personals later on. Hope you all have a good day tommrow!
Alright, trying to keep my eyes open on this Monday morning...but I did get up at 4:15 for my 30 minutes of WATP
Food over the weekend was a bust (probably about 2500 calories at least each day Friday-Sunday), but I have no reason not to get right back into the swing of things today. I've got my menu planned out with lots of good food and over 100g protein, and I spent much of my day yesterday in the kitchen fixing things for the week, so I have no excuses (alright, well, there's always some excuses, but at least I'm narrowing them down )!
Just a reminder that EVERYONE is invited to join our exercise thread.
IT"S EASY! Just go to the thread stickied at the top of the page, set a goal of the number of minutes you want to work -- you can start anytime in the month
IT'S FUN ! Keep track of your minutes and watch the group minutes SOAR!
IT WORKS! Okay, at least for me it helps with accountability.
Jasmine -- I agree that 1500 may be a bit low too. I know we're all different, but at your starting weight I was losing about 2 pounds a week eating 2000 calories/day (and some exercise). there are lots of reasons to eat as well as we can. The notion of "starvation mode" may or may not be a myth, but eating more makes it easier to get in enough nutrients, may help muscle loss, and may keep us from feeling deprived, chucking it all and then gaining more back. Larger bodies really do need more to keep them going.
Michelle -- I find I STILL have to sometimes make myself get my butt off the couch and exercise!!
Good Morning Chicks! Brr... its cold this morning. It was really hard to get out of the bed.
I took yesterday off from exercising & it was really nice. My legs feel much better. I did keep thinking about it yesterday. I almost kinda sorta missed exercise, lol.
I have my day planned out & plan on having a great day.
I haven't posted since Saturday morning so I have alot to catch up on... here goes....
Michelle: I like your "Just Do It" attitude. Thats really what it takes. I have to make myself exercise everyday, its not natural yet & I don't know that I will ever crave it.
You are right, we can't Put it aside for one more day. We must start now to get healthy. Tomorrow will never come.
Good for you, getting some more exercise in!
Annie: Way to go on your loss!
Jill: Way to go on more am exercise & excepting less excuses. That should be a motto for us all.... Less Excuses!
I also like your idea of scaring away the calories at a haunted house.
Sandy: Glad you had fun at the game, sorry your team lost. Great NSV about staying away from the dreaded ballpark goodies.
I am very afraid for my DD to grow up with the same food issues as me. I don't want her to associate everything with food (birthday=food, family get together=food, weekend=food, etc.) She is the biggest reason I am getting healthy, while she is still too young to pickup my habits.
Congrats on making SD do her own favors. She should have to do them.
Kayley: Way to go on the exercise. Sounds like you are back in the swing of things.
Katt: Awesome post about laughing! I agree that its very important in life. My DD has me laughing constantly.
Sorry your measurements came out screwy. But there was some loss. You're getting there!
Misti: Way to go on being down a pound. Also great NSV about your pants.
Brenda: Awesome NSV!
Lillion: I too have issues with social eating. Thankfully I don't go to many social things that involve food. In the past I found that eating right before I went & drinking water thoughout were good ways to help. And you are right, you did much better then you would have in the past.
So sorry about your nephew. I wasn't around when the accident happened I guess. It sounds awful for him. Your family is in my prayers.
Tiffers: Glad you weighed in. The number might bother you but its just a #. And when you get to your goal weight it will sound that much more impressive. Thats the way I think about it. I will have lost 157 pounds when I reach my goal! Thats awesome! I suggest you take before pictures too.
Thats great that you are doing this with your mom. Eventhough she has less to lose, your struggle is the same. Its great to have a support system at home.
I am glad the you are encouraged to get started. Good luck! Stay around here, everyone is great & a big source of encouragement.
Zelma: I am glad to hear that you couldn't imagine yourself thin when you started your journey. I too am aiming for healthy because I don't know what to even imagine myself as. I have never been thin. Its a totally foreign concept to me. I am glad I am not the only one with that problem and that it worked out for you.
Tiffers: FWIW, I've successfully lost weight on a program of 1500 calories/no more than 40 grams of fat per day. It stayed off for a time too. But I was starting lower than you are now. Weight Watchers points correspond roughly to 50 cal per point and for someone of your current weight, you'd get 33 pts or 1650 cal per day - BUT you'd also get 35 "flex" points to use on TOP of that. If you spread them out evenly at 5 per day, that'd put you to 38 pts, or roughly 1900 calories a day. By the same token, lots of people try not to eat their flex points daily....myself included. I do, however, "save" them for splurges on the weekend. So consider that if you do go over the calories you want to be at once in a while, no harm should be done!
Katt: New houses are always exciting! Congrats!
Jasimine: - Excellent Loss!!!
Jilly and Michelle - Great attitudes! Taking breaks won't kill you when you get right back to it!
Nonamesleft: I'm such a nibbler! I actually do better at parties with sit-down food, because I can take a plate and eat it and throw the plate away. Then I don't get seconds because I'll look like a pig! It's harder with "munches" and harder still with friends and families who keep offering you more! "Eat more, another helping won't hurt, we have all these left-overs, didn't you like it? Then have some more!" of course, it's usually good enought I want more!!!
I did well this weekend all things considered. Went shopping yesterday and found some 1 pt yogurt - this pleases me no end - and other healthy foods - or at least low-cal if not healthy! But now I have to go! Later ladies!
tiffers--i don't think i've said hi yet, so welcome! i just wanted to comment on your 1500 calories a day. that's what i do too, but i just use it as a guideline, i don't stick to it strictly. i find that if i really plan, i can do it, but i also know that i don't like to spend all day sunday cooking food for the week and planning every bite i take. usually what happens is i try to be sensible about what i eat and keep an estimate in my head of how many calories i've had. if i eat 1800 one day and 1350 the next, i don't get too worried about it. i did tell my doctor that i was trying to stay around 1500 and she didn't have a problem with that number. whatever you decide to do, i hope it works for you. i'll give you the advice a friend gave me "remember to make healthy choices". if 1500 isn't healthy for you, try something else. anyway, i try to remember that often and it seems to help me.
well, haven't been on here much, but i have stopped by to read the posts. not much is going on. i finally got back to the gym today after my screwy week last week and i feel so much better already! tomorrow is my weigh in day, so hopefully i'll get to move my ticker! hope everyone is doing well and feeling great! lori
Jasmine~WTG on losing 8 pounds so far this month! That is awesome!
Nightkatt~I love how you are so positive! Congrats on you getting your new house and everything. Hope everything else goes smoothly!
Jill~Getting up at 4:15 am to work out is awesome!
Patti~Sounds like you are doing great! congrats! Good luck at the DR!
Andie~Yes I know about cold! It is so cold and snowy up here. Makes you want to just stay in bed all day. Glad your legs are feeling better. I took saturday off from exercising..I really needed it. The main thing I guess is that we just start back up. So many times I would do good and exercise and then never start back up again! Guess that is all part of the cycle of staying fat!
LORI~ Good for you going back to the gym! Hope the weigh in goes great!
Well I wasn't able to read back much. And I know I missed tons of people. So to everyone I missed...hope you are all doing great!
Now for the good news...I lost 2 pounds! Exercise is for sure adding that extra push I need. Also I just got off TOM...so I may still be holding a little bit of water. I will wait awhile before I weigh again. But I was happy to see the scale go down! Well I need to go do laundry and get my exercise in. Hope you all are having a good day!
Oh and I forgot to add something. I for days now have been feeling out of energy and just so tired. Well I didn't even realize that the fact the sun isn't even coming up now until 11 am...could be a good reason I am so worn out! The sun going away is throwing my body off! I guess when its 24 hour darkness I will be really tired! Its so annoying! OK enough ranting! *lol*
Just a quick post as I am not feeling well. I am still having probs with feeling sick all the time. I went back to the doctors today, he arranged for me to have blood tests tomorrow, and told me to stop taking those meds I mentioned before. One way or the other I hope to be feeling better soon. It's been nearly 2 weeks since I exercised last or had energy to do anything I lost weight at my WI today, but it feels empty as I know it's more from not eating much rather than working hard at it. Still I can report I lost 5 lbs.
