Hello! I'm a newbie from Pa. I just moved here from NJ about a year and 1/2 ago. I was 9 months pregnant and lost my baby. After being very depressed and having gained alot of weight while I was pregnant..I haven't been able to diet or lose any weight since then. I'm finally ready to do something and joined WW on Saturday. My goal for now is to get down to where I weighed when I got married 2 1/2 years ago. I still have more to go after that, but for now my goal is 70 pounds. I love to chat! Please drop me a line if you have any helpful hints or just need a lending ear!
First of all let me say that I am so very sorry about the loss of your baby. That must have been and still is so incredibly hard to deal with. And second of all let me say welcome, I am pretty new here myself. I know of many people who are very successful with WW and it certainly sounds like a step in the right direction. Best of luck with your goal and hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you. I've done WW before and lost 70 pounds on it. I'm hoping to do this again and more. I just eat when I'm stressed and that seems to be all the time. I come home from work and I'm so tired! Hopefully I will start to get more energy. Are you on any special diet? You've lost 30 pounds ..that's great. What are you doing to continue losing? I'll take any pointers I can get.
Hi Godiva,
welcome! I am fairly new here as well but I have alot os support on here. I currently attend TOPS meetings on Mondays and have lost almost 9 pounds in about 6 weeks..I am thrilled to death!!!!!I had 40 to lose and I know it wont come off as easy as it went on, but i am determined to get it off this time. WW is good as you know from doing it before. I think any support group wher you need to kepe track of what you eat and gte weighed routinely is a tremendous help. Its that whole accountability piece I guess. I find when I dont drink alot of water and walk regularly I dont do as well at weigh ins.
I know the feeling of being dog tired each day ..i truly think although it sucks sometimes that it is true...you have to make energy to have energy. I have to walk most days when I first get home before we eat supper cuz once I sit down ...forget it .
Anyhow....welcome..to this site and to Pennsylvania! I am in the northwestern part of the state how bout you ?
good luck and keep in touch ..I have chat programs(check my profile) if you are ever on in the evenings...let me know. talk to you soon.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your baby. I'm sure that has not been an easy thing to deal with. But, I wanted to say Hi since you're originally from NJ and now living in PA! I'm from NJ & my dbf lives in Pittsburgh (GO STEELERS!!!! )
Godiva, you & Lisa are welcome to PM me here any time or if you'd both like to add me to Yahoo messenger, the info is in my profile. I'd love to hear from you both!
I started seeing a nutritionist about a month ago. My insurance pays for it so I figured why not. She has me on a high-protein, low carb diet. I have a 3-egg white omelette for breakfast or a half a bowl of high fiber cereal with 1% milk. I just got these south beach diet breakfast bars and I sometimes have that for lunch with a salad, no dressing. Dinner is a grilled chicken cutlet and vegetables. 2 snacks a day - maybe rice cakes and peanut butter or an apple and some nuts. I also have been eating diet jello. She basically says every time I eat there should be protein along with it. I've been using LOTS of Pam cooking spray, no more oil. I saute onions and zuchinni or onions and sugar snap peas. I've been grilling portabello mushrooms and roasting peppers. I've also been walking about 5 times a week early in the morning for about 25-30 mins. and this has helped greatly. I weigh in again on October 17, so we'll see. I think the difference this time is that I am just so disgusted with myself and I have finally decided that dieting has got to be easier then being this overweight. We shall see, cause I got a loooong way to go. Hope to hear from you soon!

"fed" up,
It sounds like you are doing great on your diet & exercise program! I hope you don't mind me making a suggestion:
There are a couple things you said in your post that you might want to ask your nutritionist about. If you are on a low-carb diet, I'm wondering why she has you eating rice cakes? Also, the latest research has shown that if you don't ingest fat in combination with your vegetables, your body can't absorb many of the beneficial nutrients in the vegetables (because they are fat-soluble). So you might get better results by having some dressing with your salad and not trying to eliminate so much oil.
Thanks for the info fiddler, I will definitely read the article. Umm the rice cakes are multi-grain and they're 17 calories each - they're the real skinny ones. I told her I can't possibly eliminate all carbs and she says it's okay. I weigh in this coming Tuesday, so we'll see how it's going

That makes sense then if they're the multi-grain ones. I was thinking you meant the white ones.
Hello again.
Sounds like you are doing great. Good Luck at your weigh in this week, I think you will do great. I just weighed in at WW yesterday and I lost 8.8 pounds! It was my first week, and when I've done WW before I always lose alot the first week and then it slows down. I just hope I can stick to it. Yesterday I had a "Tastefully Simple" party which is basically a taste testing party..I didn't count any points, so I'm a little scared but I did step on the scale this morning and I didn't gain any weight, so that was a relief.
Let me know how you do on the 17th! Hope you had a good weekend! :-)
Hi Jersey Girl.
I LOVE the Steelers! Game at 4:15 today! My family is a big fan. Hopefully I can stay away from all the dips and chips. My husband just joined WW too, so hopefully it will be easier! Hope you had a great weekend! You only have 7 more pounds to go to reach your goal..that is so Wonderful!! :-)
