Default Hello everyone!

Hey everyone. I'm starting my weight loss journey again. This isn't my first time. But I lost weight before so I know I can this time too. I'm feeling very intimidated this time because I weigh more then i have ever weighed. Originally I gained weight when i had two back to back pregnancies. I had 30lbs of baby fat and I started slim-fast and exercising and lost all of it and got to my pre-pregnancy weight. I had even saved some of the old jeans and was wearing them again. It felt amazing!

But after awhile I let my guard down and slowly gained it all back. Then my kids went to school and I was in a kinda depressing part of my life for a few years and I gained even more. And I can't even blame this on the pregnancies! I have been trying to conceive for a year and had a miscarriage 6 months ago. I am afraid that my weight may be affecting my fertility and I have decided that I need to lose weight and be a healthier person before i get pregnant again.

I have to do something. I'm tired of being embarrassed when I go visit family. I'm tired of feeling bad about my self. It just seems like I have so far to go. I hope joining a group will give me the motivation I need to get up and do it.

I totally understand. I hate meeting up with old friends because of how I look. I was glad when my family reunion was canceled this year too!! I didn't even wear shorts this summer and I roasted the whole season. AHHHH....I so wanted a Krispy Kreme today cause I have been depressed but I DIDN'T!! I realize that it is all one big cycle. You get depressed, you eat, then you get depressed BECAUSE you ate something!! But I have been reading a few really good fitness /weight loss books that keep me motivated. Just take things one MINUTE at a time. Realize that food is eaten in a few short minutes and then it is gone and all you are left with is a nagging, guilty feeling. Find something else to do to get your mind off of food or make sure the food you ARE eating is food that will nourish your body to make it healthier, stronger and more energetic. Good luck in your journey.

Well talk about not wanting to meet old friends. My daughter fainted(she's fine now) and was rushed to the emergency room of a hospital. My daughter looked at the name tag of the male nurse who was attending to her and lo and behold it's the name I must have mentioned to her umpteen times - it was my high school crush and she starts talking to him and telling him who her mother is. Yeah well anyway, my husband got there before I did, thank god, because when I got there shortly thereafter he was able to warn me about her nurse. I thought I would die, or at least faint like she did, because I look absolutely NOTHING like I did in high school. Somehow I managed to avoid him and as she was being released he came to look for me, there was no avoiding him at this point. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. I felt soooo horrible about myself I can't even begin to tell you. I talked about it for days, this happened about 2 weeks ago and your post just reminded me of it again. Oh the horror. Oh well just more incentive I guess. Well thanks for listening and good luck and welcome! Hope to hear good news from you soon.

fedup, that was horrible! Thank god for the internet where you can find people that know how you feel.
