Default Slim in 6

My friend and I just started Slim in 6 and I was just wondering if anyone had tried it.

I just got it. I'm new here, this is my first post. I went to weigh in and after two days on Slim in 6 I'm up four pounds. Hopefully that's just because muscle weighs more than fat!!!

I was in pretty bad shape before I got the DVD's, and the first workout really kicked my butt. It looked so easy until I actually started doing it! One thing I like about the workout is that you don't need a lot of space. I have a lot of Denise Austin videos, which I like, but I just don't have the space to do them in my new house (not that new - I've been here 13 months) which is partly why I'm so out of shape.

Anyway, despite the fact that I went from 140 on Sunday afternoon to 144 just now, my body fat is down from 32% to 30%. So I'm cautiously optimistic that it's going to be a good thing in the end.

One thing that the Slim in 6 DVD's are guilty of, which is my pet peeve with exercise videos, is that if there is an exercise that you do first on one side, then the other - they don't have you do the same number of reps on each side. I don't see why it's so hard to get this right!?!? Fortunately most of the exercises in the "Start it Up" video (which is as far as I've gotten) have you alternating right to left, so keeping the reps even is not an issue. It's really only the "standing crunches" where it's an issue. Not sure about the future videos.

Morning all, I just watched the Slim in 6 infomertial. I'm seriously giving some thought about getting it. I've done the Firm in the past and I just can't do the up and down on that fanny lifter, it just kills my one ankle. I would love to get some more info about Slim in 6, any thoughts. Thanks in advance.

I have the Slim in 6. I think it's great. I got it at a great price on eBay. The onliest thing I don't like about it is that once you get to the third level, "Burn It Up", you're doing the SAME workout 6 days a week. I wish they had another Burn it Up to switch off with...

Any interest in starting a new 6 week challenge?

Hi Ipenema,

I just read your post and wanted to let you know, Slim in 6 has a Keep it Off DVD that's for week 7 and beyond. I've done the whole program in the past and that little extra DVD really helps... Also, adding Slim Series after the SI6 program and Keep it Off is a really good way to take your new, fit self to the next level. However, Slim Series DVDs are all close to an hour. The bonus though, it comes with schedules for all areas, problem or otherwise, and they don't have to be done 6 days per week at that point.

Hope this helps, sorry for the long post.

I'm up for starting a new 6 week challenge. I'm getting a new DVD set of SI6 by Saturday, Nov. 18th. I plan to start on Sunday, November 19th, unless I'm part of a group with a different start date . Have you started yet? If not, what date are you looking at to begin?

Sorry I didn't have a chance to touch base on all the posts. Y'all are outstanding! The whole program is really great. Just stick with it and the results will amaze you. I lost 30lbs the first time I did the program. I've been out of commission for over a year after knee surgery, so I can't wait to start again! I look forward to "seeing" everyone else out here again soon.

Now that is interesting! I'll get online and see what I can find. I would be up for a 6 week challenge. I could use the Burn it Up until the others come in.

Let me know how you'd like to set it up?
