Default A newbie here in Georgia

Hi to all!

I love reading all of your stories and how you support each other. I have struggled with my weight for years, and as I get older it gets harder and harder to lose weight. I know that I truly need to do this for my health. I need to lose 45 pounds and it sure would be nice to have support along the way and to also be accountable to.

Congrats on finding this website! You are in the best of hands.
Do you have a weight loss plan?

Good luck! It only gets better from here.

I don't necessarily have a "plan". I am going to try a modified version of Atkins, meaning that I am going to try for healthier choices of protein rather than all the red meat and bacon and sausage and stuff like that. Mainly, fish and chicken, veggies and then of course, leave off all the carbs. In a couple of weeks and once I get my weight loss in action, I can add carbs in the form of fruits and more veggies. I bought a pedometer and I need to just get MOVING!!!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! My long term goal is 45 lbs., but I would love to be down 20 lbs. by Christmas for a family portrait to be taken on 12-23-06 (beside my skinny sister and sister-in-law)
HA!

HI!!! I'm also a newbie from Georgia! I don't actually have a plan either. I'm just trying to eat more clean and exercise more often. I've heard of alot of people having great success with Atkins but I have never tried it. Good luck with the program and welcome aboard!

Hi Angie and Missy!

I also don't do any type of "plan" just eat right and move my butt. Lots of protein and fresh fruits and veggies... only I don't leave off carbs because I don't "buy" the low carb stuff. But so glad you are here and I wish you both success.

Hi ThinWithin,

Nice to met you also! I live south of the airport in McDonough. I've heard of Ballground but never been there. I would love to live on Tybee. It's a beautiful place!

Sorry.......I was on a mental vacation for a couple of days. I am in the Kennesaw area, which is about 25 miles northwest of Atlanta. I certainly wish I had weight loss buddies closer to me. It sure makes this whole process a lot more fun (if this CAN be fun-ha!) I am debating on whether to buy a treadmill or not. I do not want yet another piece of equipment that gets used as a clothes line. Anybody here have any good knowledge about treadmills....best one for the $$$?
