Unhappy Followed Plan 100% and Gained!

Help, need a boost. I had my Thanksgiving family dinner this weekend and followed my plan to a T. I pre planned, took my scales, measuring spoons etc and passed on all drinks, desserts, etc. So dedicated was I that I was put in charge of mashing all the potatoes and when asked if they tasted seasoned enough I had someone else do it. I went for an hour walk every day and went excitedly for my weigh in only to find out I was up a pound. I have written down EVERYTHING I've had right down to a piece of sugar free gum.
How do you handle to frustration when you did so well at an event and the rest of the weekend only to have the blasted scale burst your bubble?

KrispieD,
Put the scale behind you. Grab a glass of water and a lemon and drink some up. I am sure if you stayed POP and didn't do any BLTs that weren't accounted for that you will be down on your next weigh in. Increase your water intake, add some lemon water and don't stop what you are doing.

Thanksgiving is once a year - don't beat yourself up as xmas is around the corner. I will be having Thanksgiving dinner next Sunday or Monday. I'm cooking and though it wouldn't be back - I do plan on enjoying the day as my boyfriends cousins and their band from Dartmouth are going to be coming over.

Let us know how your next WI goes.

Krispie--hang in there. You know you have done everything right and you will be rewarded for it. From the get-go I would stay the same or a little up, then BAM the next time was a great loss. It's hard and I wish I had the magic words but I can only say stick with it. It's so worth it and it will happen. Happy belated Thanksgiving! I know I won't be so good when ours comes. Welcome to the boards!

Krispie - I'm a bit confused by your ticker...it says you started on September 25 and lost 7 lbs!! That's a huge loss for one week so if you had a slight gain today, you're still down since you started...right?

Thanks Ladies
The scale was the worst invention ever! We should crash and burn them and measure ourselves but hot jeans!
Looking forward to all the received advice and giving some as well along the road.. and meeting some great women!

Krispie - I know how frustrating that is - I get that almost every weekend! There are a few things to ask - did you get enough rest/sleep? Were any of the foods you ate cooked with salt, pork, alcohol, etc.? Is TOM near? And last - you do realize that we of the female persuasion have our weights fluctuate sometimes on a daily basis!! I know none of that will make you feel better, but as Lea Ann said, if you didn't lose, you will. And if you stayed POP, then remember the victory cause if you hadn't, you might have had a gain!!! It's not JUST about the scale. You were able to overcome temptation, have a great family get together, and stay POP! Ta Duh! I'd say,
Can't wait to hear about your next WI!
Blessings,

Krispie--as obsessed with the scale as I am (stupid scale is my favorite mantra) you hit the nail on the head about measuring our success with hot jeans. The gals here are sick of me talking about my Lucky's but I love them and they do make me very happy when I wear them (DH, too!

2 years ago I started LAWL and wanted to loose 40 lbs and I did and have kept it off for 2 yrs (well I go up 5 lbs and then "get back on track"!) and one thing I did (this is NOT on the plan but it really worked for me) was every Sunday I let myself have a "cheat" meal. It wasnt usually too bad...like we would go out to eat and I would get a grilled chicken salad and have FULL FAT ranch dressing on it and share a dessert with my husband...I would only have one LA Lite that day and only 1 fruit...but it seemed like when I would have that "cheat meal" it would knock the pounds off even more after a day or 2...I think sometimes our bodies get used to the same number of calories and fat grams and when you shake it up a bit it actually helps...Im not saying go crazy...it also helped me get through the week since I would turn down yummy treats all week I would say on Sunday I will have that...then Sunday would come and I would have (a little bit) of what I had been craving all week. Also try hot lemon water.

3 years ago when I was first on LAWL they were phasing out this "weekends off" thing - I was never given details, but it was probably like that.

The concept of shaking things up and having a higher cal day is similar to the Wendie Plan - detailed in the WW forums. It sounds intriguing.
