Default HELLO! Newbie here

Hi all! My hubby and I decided to try this new diet to shed some fat!! I did some reseach on the internet (but we don't have the book yet...) and find this diet is the most tasty one..LOL. We tried South Beach 2 years ago, but....just hated it....bcuz we love bread and pasta...

So..here's my 1st question.. can we still take supplements like protien shake and creatine this diet? My hubby is so into bodybuilding stuff....

Welcome. Supplements are not a problem, if they are truly used as a supplement instead of a meal replacement. Sonoma stresses getting your nutrients from real whole foods as opposed to prepackaged processed stuff so keep that in mind when deciding what to use for meals.

You must not have done South Beach correctly because I frequently have bread and pasta. It is allowed. Didn't you read the book?

Hi QuilterInVA.
i guess your are right. i guess i didn't do SB correctly. the hardest part for me when i was on SB was i didn't have my own kitchen to cook my own meals and my parents cooked a lot for me..i never read/own the SB book, nor join their online programme. just read support forums and online resouces. but i remember that no carbs (except for beans and peas) on phase 1..no? well anyways, i m not following SB right now so why bother, right?
and i will keep in mind that this "diet" is just a new lifestyle and i m making this lifestyle to fit mine. not trying to "fit myself into the diet" (<-for me that's a wrost thing to do...that's why i couldn't stick to a diet long).
i eat brown rice and whole wheat bread for years... i live in my own house now..now i just have to cut off sugar, white flour pasta and store bought cakes.. wish me luck.

you'll do great, esp together as a team. The initial phase/wave here is much easier to take than SBD although there are some similarities. Do you have the book coming? It's a good read and helps make sense of some of the ideas. I think that the recipes are so delish that you'll want to stay!
