Talking thanksgiving challenge sept25-29 support thread

good monday morning everyone

i just noticed that sept flew by so that means thanksgiving will be here in no time.i stepped on the scale this morning and i am officially in the 150's. the needle was between the 158-159. so stoked
also, i am starting phase 1 of the fat smash diet today. which is detox
i have been low-carbing but since i am getting close to my goal i want to adopt a way of eating that i will stay with. i did my pilates class this morning and planning ahead as far as my meals. i read the book and it seems so easy to follow. phase 1 is 9 days so i will weigh in next then and post my results.........i also considered the biggest loser diet and the jillian michaels plan but this was the first book i read. so if phase 1 doesn't produce results especially it being a detox i will move onto the the biggest losser or jillian.
has anyone done these plans??? any feedback would be great

Hi guys! Congrats to you flabbychick on hitting the GLORIOUS 150s! I am sooo jealous! Of course, I'll be tickled when I hit the 210's...right around the corner. I can't believe Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

I don't know about those diets either...I just guesstimate calories/fat grams and try to make "smart" choices. I pretty much attribute most of my weight loss to working out, exercising like a maniac.

I'm not too upset about my weekend eating. I worked and made good choices. I did have one moment of weakness on Sunday morning on my way home from work (7p-7a) and I was hungry and thought McMuffin sounded so good.....got one and one McGriddles....yikes! But no hash brown or whatever. And you gotta do that once in awhile, ya know? Otherwise I'd just be dreaming of them forever until I fed the beast. Oh well...added an extra 20 minutes cardio at the gym today, fitting "punishment".

I have had the nicest compliments lately, others coming up to me telling me that I have inspired them to lose weight and try again. In fact, about three instances in the last week! I feel I keep it up BECAUSE of others' encouragement so that's nice.

I don't work again until Wednesday night so I'll be glad to kick back and relax a few days. Are any of you guys in the Biggest Loser contest over in the exercise forum? I am in the blue team!

Talk at ya'll later!

Good morning ladies I had a rough night at work last night, the bosses cut us down from 4 people to 3 and it was such a busy night (I cook in a small hometown burger restraunt) Then at my dinnertime I realized I put my food down at home and forgot to grab it again. So I had to eat from work, I couldn't eat what I normaly would, a grilled ckn salad, because we had such an unusually busy weekend we were out of chicken and almost out of lettuce and the bosses want us to be scrapping the bottom before we spend the money at the grocerystore for lettuce. AARGHHHH, anyway I ended up having a "burger with no meat" just a bun, tomato, mustard pickles onion and cheese. It was okay and not to high in calroies, I just didn't get to have any protein. today will be better I am going to take a stock of food for myself that I can leave there. So I don't do it again. Sorry to rant I hope everyone has a good day.

What a good day today has been so far. Yea I am fighting with my kids, (you know 3 and almost 1 and they are crazy!) But I am just in a good mood. I only spent 15 min on my stationary bike, but I am going to walk hills tonight for 40 minutes and that is a good workout itself. I am dreading tomorrows weigh in though. I think I need to start mixing it up a little bit. I wish I could join curves or a gym, but I cant afford it. Maybe I will jog in place for 15 minutes or something. I would love to get out and jog everymorning, but my Husband does his workouts in the morning.

Q: If I do a cardio workout for 15 minutes is that worth it? I know most people say it is not worth it unless it is 20-30 minutes cardio, but overall is it any calorie burned?

Hello out there!!!!

WOW Jc, you are right, you ARE halfway there already! AWESOME! And Flchick, I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the results of detox fat smash....how can you STAND not being on the scale???! I get too obsessive about the daily weigh in routine. It makes me nuts. Sometimes we just have to hide the scale in the closet.

So its Saturday.....dum da duuuuuum weekend. I didnt get to the gym today, DH thinks he's doing me a favor letting me "sleep in" (I worked Friday night) so when I woke up at 3, I was bummed b/c the gym closes at 4 and I hadn't eaten or dressed yet. Oh well. I have bowling tonight. There is a campout with the girls from work tonight, I was thinking about heading down there, but it is almost an hour away, and it is chilly and rainy, I don't feel like coming home sick. Sunday seems to be a free day...the gym is closed but I don't have anything else going on. But I start my- dum da duuuum- first DAY shifts on Monday!!!!!!!!! So I feel like I won't be staying up too late.

Well be strong this weekend chickies....come check in if you're feeling weak, that's what I do...and usually can resist! xoxoxoxoxo
