Default WATP question...please help

Good morning! I've never used any of the videos/dvd's; I walk a couple miles everyday for my exercise. However, the last couple days I've had to dodge raindrops the whole way...YUCK!

I've heard people on this sight talk about the WATP program and am wondering if I need anything to go with the videos? Like a step or weights? I can get the videos from my local library to try them out, just curious what to start with and any extras I might need.

Also, have any of you done the Denise Austin videos? She's on a cable channel in the morning, but it's right at the time when I'm trying to get kids off to school and myself to work. I can also get these at the library to try.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

I think that the the WATP would make a great back up program for you. Definitely try them out from the library - all you need is a little space. Some of the workouts come with bands but try them out first to see how you like them

I find that the walking to the WATP DVD's is actually easier on my 61-year-old knees than pounding the pavement..good luck with them.

Thank you for the input Tresor and Tejas! I'll put in my request via the web and I'll pick the videos up on my way home from work!

Have a fabulous day!

I've been using the WATP dvds since January and I just love them!! I agree, since you have access to them at the library, definitely check out one or two and see what you think. If you enjoy them, then you can add anything that might be used in the workout. But they can be done w/o any "boosters" as Leslie calls them and you'll still get a really great workout! The only thing you may want to add down the line is a stretchie band or hand weights. Good luck!!

Most of them you don't need gadgets... some use bands or hand weights (Like "Walk Strong") but if you end of getting one of those you can always use water bottles or whatever if you don't have weights.

If your already used to walking a lot I suggest the 4mile Super Challenege tape - I think it's 60mins long. The Walk Kick one is good too and throwing in these mini "kickboxing" moves (but they are very manageable)

You'll use your muscles differently with these videos, so they would be good for cross training a nice change of pace from just plain walking.
