Wink Calling all the supportive Peeps!

I have some great news and would really like to find some support for myself here as I embark on a new journey. I posted this elsewhere but it was swallowed up/passed over, so I decided to start a thread I would really like to connect with like-minded people who want to support one another, even newbies like me.

I am really excited about a new development- I auditioned for a program that will give me a personal trainer 3 times a week, a specific diet plan tailored to me, exercise DVD's and a new type of fitness equipment and I was chosen!

Yes, I will be on an informercial! You know, the individual attention I'll be getting, the support and the fact that I will be on television is the extra incentive I need to jump start my wellness! The 'Biggest Loser' it isn't, but hey, I'll take what I can get!

It's an 8 week plan and I intend to make the most of it. I already have been working out every day, counting calories and sticking to a whole foods menu...the difference now is I will get a free personal trainer, 3 times a week for 8 weeks! I am so happy about this.

When I went to audition, I was the biggest woman there and thought that perhaps they wouldn't pick me because, being an infomercial project (we've all seen the 'before and after' shots) that only would be following my progress for only 8 weeks, I thought they's want someone who would be able to say "I tried this program and now I weigh 123 pounds!" and that is NOT me! I'll still be FAT even if I lose 40 pounds with them!

Well, I kept an open mind about it and did a great job in my interview and I am glad I acted confident and positive, because they were very impressed with me! The trainer said that when he showed my taped interview to the client, they said 'She is absolutely beautiful!' That made me feel so good! Here I was, thinking that I was possibly too fat for them and they think I am beautiful! (I know the two aren't mutually exclusive but, this is TV we are talking about and the standards they have are different, ya know?).

So, I am even more PUMPED UP than before!

It gets better...the trainer is well-known in Canada for starting a Plus-Sized TV show and Wellness program and is a plus-sized advocate! He told me that he doesn't care if I lose 5 pounds on this program and that what is important to him is that my life is changed in a positive way from the experience. It's like an answered prayer, it really is.

So, I'll stop rambling and say this- Let's make ourselves the priority, Ladies!

Thanks so much! It's nice to know that out of everyone who has read this, you are supportive and happy for me

MODS: Could you move this to the 'support' forum? That's where I wanted it to be...I need SUPPORT

I was in a car accident today. I had my new car (NEW as in no one else had ever owned it and I bought it off the showroom floor) for all of a WEEK and someone goes and smashes in to me. She was looking for directions in her car and not looking around I am so sad and my body hurts. The car was a week old and now it's ruined I didn't eat all day because of the mess that ensued and so ended up eating a bean, potato and guacamole burrito and then a small bowl of chocolate cherry ice cream when I got home

At least I did an hour of intense sweat-inducing walking through the park this morning first!

Please, pray that this all turns out in my favor and that I get a new car.

I had my 10 day weigh and measure in! I lost nearly 7 pounds and 10 inches! I am really proud of myself for accomplishing this even though I had some major stress-inducing events transpire recently...I'm devoted to doing even BETTER for the next check in!

Yogini--good luck. I am sorry to hear about your car accident. I will pray for you. So what type yoga do you do, and/or like? I like Ashtanga, and Kundalini but I need to discipline myself more. I will pray for you.
