Talking Calorie Quiz - Just for fun!

Hi everybody! I found this Calorie Quiz from LifeScripts and thought it would be fun to post it here.

I couldn't figure out how to set this for multiple question polling so if you'd like to play, you'll just have to number your "papers" from 1 -10 and list your answers to the following questions.

I'll come back in a few days after everyone's had a chance to post their answers and list the results. Careful, some are real eye-openers!

One of the great secrets of weight loss isn't such a secret after all - limit the amount of calories you consume each day and eat the right amount of calories for your body and you'll lose weight. While calorie-counting seems like a tedious task, having a basic knowledge of which foods will send you into a diet trap isn't. So just how calorie-conscious are you?

1. To start your morning off right, which breakfast has the least amount of calories?

a. Two scrambled eggs with cheese
b. A glazed donut
c. One cup of granola cereal

2. Which of these delicious appetizers boasts the lowest amount of calories per serving?

a. Shrimp cocktail
b. Chicken lettuce wraps
c. 12 chips and salsa

3. Those four fun-size Snickers you just grabbed from the receptionist's candy jar cost you how many calories?

a. 120 calories
b. 324 calories
c. 500 calories

4. You ordered the chicken. Now which side dish should you choose if you want to continue with your low-calorie dinner theme?

a. One bowl of cream of broccoli soup
b. Half a cup of rice pilaf
c. Two slices of garlic bread

5. Which movie-theatre treat should you nosh on to avoid calorie-overload?

a. A medium-sized buttered popcorn
b. One salted pretzel
c. A 5 oz. pack of red vines

6. Which alcoholic beverage packs the highest amount of calories at happy hour?

a. White Russian
b. Budweiser
c. Glass of red wine

7. To avoid turning your snack into a mini-dinner calorie-wise, which should you choose?

a. Half a cup of cottage cheese
b. Two stalks of celery with peanut butter
c. A handful of tortilla chips

8. Which Chinese food favorite will set you back the most calories?

a. Orange chicken
b. Broccoli beef
c. Vegetable chow mein

9. While in a fast food drive thru, which item should you choose if you want to spare yourself some major calories?

a. McDonald's Quarter Pounder with cheese
b. Taco Bell's taco salad
c. Carl's Jr. 6-piece chicken stars

10. To finish off your meal, which tasty dessert has the least amount of calories?

a. A slice of apple pie
b. One serving of chocolate pudding
c. Two Rice Krispies treats

Have fun!

I’ll be first! Although I'm ususally not too good at these! I'm assuming all these are the full-fat items, since they didn't say otherwise. Which is where I have problems, since I never buy full-fat anything!

1 – b, 2 – a, 3 – b, 4 – b, 5 – b, 6 – a, 7 – a, 8 – a, 9 – c, 10 – c

Hmmm. Wonder how I did?

I agree, there are alot of variables, life 2% cheese, eggs fried with Pam, servings sizes, etc. But this was all the info they gave and the idea is to pick what you feel is the correct answers based just on what you're given.

I'll post the results in a couple of days after everyone's had a chance.

5. b
6. a
7. a
8. a

Harpo: I put them up when I find them. I will look harder though. The last one I put up was from the Tim Horton's menu. It was a real eye opener as well.

Yogini: Sure you can do it. Like Harpo said, just consider it non-diet, full fat....like if you saw it on a menu at a restaurant. We can all "lighten" things when we make them at home and "fix" them to fit our plans. This was just pretty straight forward. Which would you choose, a. b. or c.

1) A - eggs & – it was the only breakfast on the list, the others were a sin and a carb attack.

2) A – shrimp – oooo, I have shrimp in the fridge – thanks for the reminder, Thin!

3) B – 324 calories ... or are they actually 125 cals a piece???

4) WHAT? My choices for side dishes are a bowl of fat or 2 carb attacks? No side for me thanks. OK, Maybe a bit of that yummy soup, but the correct choice is probably “B” – the rice (more carb h***)

5) C – the Vines… Gee this test is just full of carb grief!

6) A – the White Russian? What is that any way? Sounds disgusting

7) Depends, what’s the fat percent on the cottage cheese? We’ll go with that: A

8) Ummmm, A! the orange chicken?

9) All bad choices, but we’ll go with A but order it no mayo and throw away the bun…. Or B and toss the crunchy fat thingies and dressing…

10) C – but hold the second krispy treat – and that doesn’t mean do like I used to and use the whole recipe to make a single krispy mountain treat – ahhhh, marshmallows, butter and crunchy rice – Serious carbs of the gods!

NO FAIR THIN! This was really HARD!!! (‘specially cuz I didn’t cheat and look at anybody else’s answers.)
