Default I'm gonna do this! Newbie here.

From what I've read this board is very supportive.

I'm at my highest weight in years and as of last Thursday I'm stopping the madness.

Three years ago I lost quite a few pounds on WW but gave up after six weeks. That's not going to happen this time.

That's my short story and I'm off to check out more threads.

Thanks. I love your avatar. Striving for perfection has been my downfall in many areas in my life. Giving it my all, then giving up when I have a setback.

This weight loss must be a lifestyle change, so I must change my attitude for it to work.

Read a lot of the "tag lines" in here for additional inspiration. Another one by a member is "Dieting is not an all or nothing thing, every bite is another chance to make it right." Recognize you will not always get everything right. Learn to make good choices, but probably a lot more important, learn to enjoy learning about a new lifestyle. Treat it like a hobby. For example, dont' try to change absolutely everything overnight. Change one or two things, then when you start to "get it" then add another habit.

Sometimes it can get discouraging but it can also be a lot of FUN!

Default Hi

I am so like that too....about trying to be perfect in everything that I do and then when I mess up, it all goes so bad. I give up so easily because I make one little mistake...I have a small cookie and before you know it, I have convinced myself that I have messed up my whole diet so what the heck, I'll eat the ice cream sindae and have pizza for dinner and what's a couple more sodas going to do?
