Cool Looking for Support and Motivation...

Hi, my name is Mel and I'm 35 yrs old and from Central IL. I'm currently at what i believe is to be my highest weight ever at 329. My doctor and my family are concerned about my weight, as am I. So now its up to me to try and drop the pounds. My goal is to lose 60 lbs. Its a huge goal and i'm not sure I can do it. I know I have to....and its good to know that there is a site for me to vent and to celebrate and to meet people from around the globe with the same mission.....Good luck to everyone!

Hi Mel, happy to see you found your way here to a terrific support site for weightloss!!! I have found some wonderful motivation and support here, hopefully, you will also!! I would like to share some wisdom I have found here if you don't mind. This is my motto, I certainly can't lose 100 lbs. but, I CAN lose 10 lbs, 10 times!! This way my overall goal isn't so daunting, and 10 lbs is attainable!! I hope you feel the same way!! I am so happy for you to have lost 5 lb!! You could be half way to your first goal!! Keep on posting!! You are inspiring!!

Mel - You can definitely do it! Welcome to 3FC. There is tons of support and information here. You might want to come check out the 300+ section here:

Also, if 60 pounds feels like a huge amount, why not chop up your goals into smaller amounts such as 20 or even 10 pounds? Losing 10 pounds 6 times can seem much more doable than going straight for 60.
