Hi, all, I'm new, obviously.
I've been trying to lose weight for some time now, but have been relativly unsuccessful. I've managed to go from a size 15/16 to a size 12/13, but would like to lose more weight. A major reason I want to lose weight is that I would like to get pregnant in the next few years, and a)I'll have an easier pregnancy and labor and b)the weight from being pregnant will come of easier and faster. But of course, I want to be healthy all around and I won't lie-I want to look good. I want to wear hip-huggers and snug little tops and not worry-"is my roll showing? Oh, yuck-can't wear this today." My best friend is a size five, and that's actually why I decided to lose some weight. I was tired of being the fat one. So, I joined weight watchers, which actually worked for me for awhile. I subscribed to their site, but twenty bucks a month was a bit much for a college student. Besides, do I really need a website to tell me I need to eat better and excersise? I was working out with a friend five days a week, but she went back to work, so that stopped. But, I'm actually working out with my best friend (yes, the one who's a size five) once or twice a week. She says she needs to firm up, and wants to lose a few pounds. So, right now I'm working out once a week, but my job keeps me pretty active. I work in the gift/home/linens department of a department store. That consists of running up and down stairs, carrying heavy comforters and stuff, and walking for three hours. So, I'm pretty sure that's a decent work-out. I hope it is.
But I am going to start the South Beach diet on Monday. I've heard a lot of great things about it, and you lose 8-10 lbs in the first couple of weeks alone. Plus, my fat is mainly around my middle, which this diet seems to cater to. I probably have a six pack under all that flab. Wouldn't that be a nice surprise-to find my muscles!! I can feel them, I know they are there. They are just hiding.
