Default ugh - birthday week, I think the decadence is finally over

Wow. What a week. My birthday was Monday, August 14.

Monday - Lunch at Sea World (pizza!!) Dinner at The Marine Room - 5 course tasting menu including red wine and coffee with cream.

Thursday - Girl's Night at Purple Cafe and Wine Bar - split the Bucheron Goat cheese and honey appetizer, blackened salmon salad with avocadom, red wine, creme brulee for dessert

Friday - Birthday dinner with my parents at Salty's restauraunt - ate out of the bread basket, split crab cake appetizer, scallops with buerre sauce and the most fabulous caramel meringue pie

Saturday - went back to Purple with the parents, and then went with them to a reunion banquet - had creamy chicken with spinach, red wine, some kind of wonderful cheesy casserole, chocolate chip brownie and a dollop of chocolate mousse. Also split a Scharffenberger nibby bar with my step mother.

Please, let it be over! I feel like I've gained 10 lbs, I haven't eaten like that since the LAST time my parents came to visit last June!! I promise to eat nothing but chicken spinach salad and oatmeal for 2 weeks to undo the damage.

I feel really really fat and disgusting. I HATE the feeling of being too full.

I'm always impressed with your resolve and dedication to good health, Glory. I have no doubt that you'll do just fine once you get back into your own groove.
Life happens and we have to be prepared to deal with it. Fabulous foods are there for the enjoying.
As long as we don't have birthdays 8 or 9 times a year

I did this the other week when I went camping with a friend - nothing but hot dogs and marshmallows and equally bad food for 5 days - I felt disgusting! I just ate fruit and veggies and oatmeal for a few days after and everything was back to normal. Doing this once in a while certainly shows me there's no way I could go back to eating highly processed, full-fat foods regularly again. I like my produce too much!

I don't know why, but I got a williams-sonoma webpage from the Marine room link. I checked the Marine room and it looked FAB. I hope you had a great bday!
