Default So Frustrated!

So I lost 3 pounds last week, I worked out 5 days and dieted.

So this week I worked out and dieted all week, every day, and I gained 2 pounds back! What the heck? Does anyone else get this? I'm so frustrated.

Today I blew it and ate out TWICE. I most likely undid all this weeks work.

Heeeelp, anyone else have this? <3 Kierr

Could be water weight...or alot of things! Eating salty foods, caffiene...lots of things can make us retain water. I've read over and over here that you're not gonna gain 2lbs of fat in a few days...each lb is 3500 calories...I seriously doubt you blew a diet that badly! Don't take the scale so seriously. Hard, I know, but you'll just go insane if ya do!!

During this last week I've seen as low as 166.2 on the scale and as high as 172...give yourself a break and focus on feeling good and making good choices!!! I've found that the best benefit from all of this is how I'm feeling physically even though I haven't lost alot of weight yet!

Unless you ate 7000 extra calories, this is not "fat" coming back. It is a rule of dieting that scales fluctuate. They fluctuate for all sorts of reasons, but water retention is very common. Maybe you were retaining sodium or it was TOM? This is one of the reasons why weight loss is not linear.

Also, did you weigh at the same time of day with the same clothes, etc? That can make a big difference too. Most of us weigh less in the morning. My official weight each week is in the morning, after bathroom, undies only. I weigh at other times, but never count it. I observe the fluctuations but don't let them bother me.

I am also of the opinion that scales are They hope their fluctuations cause you to go off plan -- and you did!

You need to worry less about what the scale says on a day to day basis. This is why some people don't weigh everyday, but you can see these fluctuations even when you weigh weekly. Just don't worry about it. Focus on your behaviors -- and the weight will come off!

kierr~ I know that could be discouraging but whatever you do, don't give up!!! It could be water weight or who knows. You have worked hard to loose the weight that you have. Just try not and worry about it and continue your diet and exercise. The weight will come off!!

Sometimes it just takes awhile for your body to get used to everything. It could be water weight also. Just keep doing what you are doing and it will go away.

I've been gaining weight like CRAZY the past two weeks or so (7 or so pounds). I think it's because I have been getting dehydrated and drinking too much soda. Both are probably contributing to water retention. Time to go back to water water water... Like the others said, it can't possibly all be fat. I haven't been THAT bad.

Thanks guys! I'm being a little extra punishing to myself today. I love my decaf coffee. Besides that I probably need to go back to water only. Maybe I have PMS. It's hard for me to tell since I am so irregular. It would be nice if that is what it was! I hope I don't gain from my binge yesterday. Hopefully my week of working out balances it out.

I just have to get back on that horse and go.

well that's exactly the same thing that's happening to me. I lost about 5 lbs the first week and now I have gained back 3 lbs . i mean i haven't really eaten anything that would actually trigger this. But i did try on a couple of clothes today and I realized that they had actually become loose . So now I'm a bit more +ve and ready to stick on to my diet. So hang in there and you'll see results soon.
