Default Confused about dairy

Hi all. Just getting started on Wave 1, and am not quite sure as to what's allowed. I see a little cheese and cottage cheese is listed under dairy, not protein. If I have a scoop of ff cottage ch on my salad at lunch, does that count as the protein? How about a sprinkling of feta? Or is that too much dairy if I already had milk and cereal for breakfast? I see Laughing Cow cheese wedges listed as a snack item in the meal plans. Is that one of the three fats, or? Although I appreciate the concept of the proportional plates, I'd also like to have a feel as to a daily limit of some items, especially fats and dairy. Seems odd that you can have cottage cheese during wave 1, but you can't have a glass of ff milk with dinner? I want to stick to Wave 1 closely without following meal plans--live alone, too many leftovers. Am probably overthinking this--whatever I choose it has got to be better than all the garbage I was eating before.

Welcome. One thing to keep in mind about Sonoma is that is relies very little on dairy. Except with the cereal, think of dairy as a seasoning or an accent rather than a primary ingredient in recipes. For example, if you make a p[izza.. use a dusting of cheese rather than a whole bunch.

There are some non dairy cheese that would work with Sonoma.. tofu/soy based cheeses and almond based ones both would work.
