Default Want to lose 50 more by August 2007

Hi!

I've lost 50 lbs. so far and want to lose the last 50 by this time next year (my son's wedding). I read a lot about various plans, methods, exercise techniques and have created my own plan of eating and exercising. I'm interested in having a buddy to keep me motivated to get rid of that last 50 lbs. and hoping to be able to motivate my buddy in his/her weight loss, too!

Hi Cheryl, i'm ruthie, i'm so excited for you that you've already lost so much weight 50lbs is a serious acomplishment. I am brand new and i am looking to loose about 20-25lbs by next summer so we're kind of on the same time schedule at least, and for the similar reasons, my wedding is next summer on 7-7-07 so i'm still buddy-less if you're looking

Hi Ruthie!

Guess what? I'm from Painesville! Small world!

I'd LOVE to have you as my buddy! Weddings in both of our lives coming up next summer -your own and my son's! How exciting is THAT?!!!!

What are your colors for your wedding?

My ultimate goal is to weigh on my son's wedding day what I weighed on MY wedding day. I have fifty pounds to go, and I really want to get there!

It took me 9 months to lose this first 50. I'm hoping that the last 50 will come off within the next year or so. I've been upping my exercise, and that is helping, but I still love my chocolate and my cheese WAY too much!

Hoping to hear from you soon, Ohio Buddy!

oh wow i can't believe how close we are, it is a small world. I just have a bad habit of eating late and i have a really hard time controlling my carb intake, i'm italian and irish so i've got the pasta and potatoes curse. i've been trying to eat a lot more protein like fish and eggs, and i try to make it out for a 2-3 mile walk every day, i have lost 5 lbs but i don't see much difference. My wedding colors are going to be a light sage and cream. I am really excited, and theres so much to do, it's certainly keeping me busy. I'm not exactly sure how this all works and i see the message that says i shouldn't put my e-mail on this thing so hopefully i can figure out how to talk to you outside of this particular thread. i'm gonna poke arround the site and figure out what this PM system is . . . hope to talk to you soon, GOOD LUCK

Hi Ruthie!

Sage and cream sound beautiful as wedding colors! My son and his fiancee have chosen red and gold for their colors.

I watched Oprah several years ago, and she was on with Bob Greene, her personal trainer. She said that she eats NOTHING after 7:30PM. I have been keeping 7:00PM as my cut-off point for the last six months or so, and for me it is so much easier than trying to choose something healthy/low cal to eat in the evenings. I keep cold water by me all evening and sip that when I get the grumblies. I also go brush my teeth and/or use some mouthwash. That helps, too. The NOT eating after 7:00PM has helped me a lot with my weight loss, I think.

I'm with you...LOVE those carbs! I am trying to up my exercise so that I can eat more. Did you know that eating RAISES your metabolism? That's why it's good to eat a bit of something every few hours. I'm trying to get my metabolism moving so that I CAN eat more. I LOVE food!

Good for you on your walking! I'll bet that you soon will notice a chance in how your clothes fit. Walking or any exercise seems to firm up the flab and drop INCHES even if the POUNDS aren't falling off as fast. Be patient!

I'm new, too, so I don't know how to do the message thing either. Don't worry. We'll figure it out!

hey hopefully you got my private message, if you go to the scroll with all the forums it will say private messages at the top, if when you go there it says you have it blocked then you should go to your options on the left of the page and there will be a little box to check that says accept private messages. i'm sure youre right about the patience thing, as long as i stick to it i'm sure it'll happen. I'll try the water and brushing my teeth, i had never thought about that but it sounds like a good idea. And i did know that eating raises your metabolism, thats one of the reasons why breakfast is the "most important meal of the day" its a big wrestling trick to eat 13 or so really small meals a day to keep your motabolism going, i had a few friends who wrestled in highschool, they always knew the fastest ways to lose weight, not always the healthiest. Anyways its late and i've gotta go to bed, i'm glad we decided to get together on this, i have a feeling it will be good for both of us!
talk to you soon

Hi Ruthie!

I'm heading to my prayer group right now but will check out what you said about the private message later on today. I'm excited about having you as a buddy! (My husband coached wrestling for eleven seasons, and I took a reading class a number of years ago at Kent. My oldest son threw shot and disk there on a number of occasions, too!) I think we were DESTINED to be buddies, Ruthie!

I clicked my "IMG" on. Is that what you meant? There were no messages there that I saw.

Talk to you soon!

Cheryl

Hi Ruthie!

I figured it out! The "private messages" notice is now under my name on my screen. I'll try sending you a message!
