I didn't see the actual show, but have seen video clips and news articles since. Supposedly she was not asked to return in the fall for the 10th season because she annoyed too many people with her "Bridezilla" routine when she got married, plus many people feel she has lied when she implied that all of her weight loss was due to diet and exercise (which is highly doubtful since she lost weight so fast - many people feel that she had a gastric bypass but wasn't willing to admit it). She was supposed to wait until July and make some excuse about why she wasn't coming back, but instead she jumped the gun and said that she wasn't returning because "the show was going in a different direction" and said in a People magazine interview that she felt like she was fired. Obviously the "powers that be" at ABC were not pleased, so she was immediately dumped from the show and the web site, etc.

That was probably more than you wanted to know, but I watch The View pretty regularly, and have found her annoying on more than one occasion, so I read all the gossip when it became available. I guess I need to get a life!

Well, I haven't watched the View regularly since about 2001 when my son discovered that there were channels like NickJr. But I wouldn't really want to watch it anyhow because, well, Star annoyed me. I liked Meredith and, believe it or not, I love when Barbara is on and it annoys me when she's not...like this is her show, but she's too busy to be on it and is only on it when she doesnt' have anything better to do, it seems. And that Lisa girl always made me feel like she was about to go outside and picket something. I just got annoyed. Star always annoyed me before she was married with her 'all men must bow to me' attitude and then when she was engaged and getting married, I thought, "well, I guess he's a real whimp" I can't imagine what she was like when she was preparing for her wedding. It must have been unbearable. Anyone ever seen that black man on Saturday Night Live imitate her? "Yes! I AM a lawyer!" Too funny. And that weightloss of hers was ANYTHING but natural. What a joke! Does she really think we're that dumb?

Anyhow...I just might watch the show now once my son goes off to kindergarden this fall. Maybe even over the summer.

I watched the View and especially liked Barbara, Meredith & Joy. The rumor is Star and Rosie O'Donnell do not get along--that Rosie has made derogatory statements about Star and her choices in her weight loss journey. I personally used to love watching the Rosie show until Tom Selleck came on as her guest and she attacked him for owning guns and being a member of the NRA. Last I heard the right to bear arms is in the Constitution. Rosie was very nasty and I stopped watching her show then and will not watch the View with her on it. I believe that you can state your opinion in a non-confrontational way that doesn't tear the other person down and turn it into a heated defensive argument and if you truly want someone to see your side, Rosie's way is definitely not the way to do it.

Ugh...I totally forgot the Rosie will be on the view. I'm sorry, but I just can't picture it...it's like a truck driver sitting amongst a bunch of executives. Next, they'll have Rosanne Barr sitting in in Star's spot, assuming Rosie is filling in Meredith's spot. I DO love Joy, though...she really cracks me up.

The big hub-bub apparently occurred and Star was given an early dismissal b/c she said, on air, that she had been fired. She was supposed to be onthe program through mid-July, but now she'll be gone except for pre-recorded segments.
I never liked her, fat, skinny, single, married, whatever. A bossy know it all who thought she was God's gift to the world.

I think Rosie is a LOT better than Star. Regardless of what her opinions are, I like a host with opinions that go beyond "Gosh, I'm awesome. Aren't I awesome? My wedding was awesome. I am so awesome". She was so full of herself, and that disconnected her from the audience...and Rosie has a great audience connection, or did during her show.

I think this venue will be a lot better for Rosie than her talk show, because The View thrives on alternate viewpoints. So if Rosie starts talking about some of her more strong opinions (like gun control, etc) she'll have someone to counterbalance her and it will make for good television. On her talk show it was just her, and no one to counterbalance her when she went a little bit off the edge with an opinion.

The only thing I didn't like about Star is that she always looks constipated. She just seems miserable or uninterested most of the time...I wonder how she's been on as long as she has.

LOL!!!! that is SO true! I also think Rosie would be good in that setting because of the different view points.

Star many kudos and cool points..... Rosie, i can't believe they did such a thing. It has nothing to do with her marriage. She is just tacky - a train wreck waiting to happen.
Yes, that is a totally different direction for that show. One that I wouldn't want to be a part of either.
Star is annoying, but we all are at some point. She will calm down soon once the newness of a new body wears off. Just look at Oprah. She was annoying too, but so many women identified with the struggles that she grew larger than life.
Does it matter that she had WLS?? I mean honestly, should she have to disclose it? No. Just like none of us should be forced to disclose what we choose not to disclose.

I can't stand rosie!!! she annoys me! I think the View is going to lose a lot of viewers....I think the should have continued with "auditions" the ways they did until they got elizabeth

Rosie is okay....but I can't see her as a View host...it doesn't seem to suit her personality or style.

I think everybody can be annoying at times. I think they should get a man to replace Star! Now wouldn't that be interesting??? lol.
