Hi all.

Rachel - Today's it before vacation, right? Have a terrific time! Sounds like you've got a good plan in place for eating and I bet you'll be getting a lot of activity in, so it should all balance out. Oh, and congrats on your loss! Yeah, sometimes I get ticked with myself for how much time I've wasted playing around, but that doesn't help anything, so I try to let it go.

Judy - Congrats on your loss! You'll be at your 10% this week I bet! I'm so glad to hear that Anthony and Chris get along so well. It's gotta be hard raising a child as a single mother; it will be nice for Krista to have someone to share both the joys and the worries. As for the wedding, I'm sure they'll be able to come up with something meaningful for the both of them. I'm with Krista though; one big wedding is enough. Hey ending up using 10 flex points at a pool party isn't too bad. You might find doing pool aerobics (lol at old lady aerobics) makes you feel really good. My mom's been doing them forever (of course she is an old lady) and it really helps with her arthritis. Enjoy the game tomorrow and the sub! Soon it will be time for tomato sandwiches, no?

Not much new here. The weekend was rather uneventful and quiet, which is fine. It rained off and on yesterday and is raining today. In fact, Ana's swim team practice was cut short due to lightening. This afternoon we're going to an animal shelter to pick out a cat or two. It's been almost a year since we put down Luigi the cat and we're finally feeling ready to take on a couple more. My eating has been ok. I have a well-stocked freezer, etc. but by the end of the afternoon I'm usually so tired that cooking is the last thing I feel like doing. However, I do have to make a menu plan and get my act together.

Have a great day.

Carla

Carla - I'm looking forward to an uneventful weekend this one coming - it's been a while since we had one. We have the same weather - it poured all weekend long and today it's on and off. That's too bad about Ana's swim practice being cut short. Oh, I'm so glad to hear that you are going to an animal shelter for a cat or two. I vote for two - I always think it's nice for them to have (feline) company. Is it really almost a year since Luigi went to Kitty Heaven? Do you think the tiredness is the fact that you are still recuperating from the operation? I would think it takes quite some time to "get back to yourself." Yes, I swear by my menu plan. It makes everything work so much better. Tonight I'm going to throw together the ol' veggie pie. There's not a lot of work to it since I'll be using a bag of frozen veggies. I think we have a little time yet for tomato sandwiches - maybe about a month. Hopefully it will be a good crop - we've had way too much rain so far this year.

I didn't get to the pool today and probably won't until Thursday when I'm planning to go to my mom's (which means no ol' lady aerobics). My plan is to get to 10,000 steps today. I'm finding since school is out that my pedometer is registering a lot less steps (no surprise) and I want to try to get to at least 10,000 a day.

Have a great one!
Judy

Hi guys!
I finished up at work finally, and now I have one more day until we leave for Hawaii! Tomorrow is my birthday!
I will check in with you guys once more if I have time.
Carla, take it easy, I know you are still recovering.
Judy, just try to fit in whatever exercise you can whenever you can.
It's the best you can do.
The weather here has been rainy also, but we really need it.
You guys take care!

Hi all. Sorry I've been so slack. Since our home business has been pretty quiet lately I'm trying to use the downtime to improve our processes and services. There's also been a bit to sort out with the house as we're working on finalising the electrical plan.

Carla ~ How exciting getting a couple of new cats, especially from the shelter since there are so many. Did you pick a couple? What did you name them? My boys are desperate to have a kitten, but we have a dog who wouldn't give it a moment's peace. We'll have to wait until she's gone before we get any more pets. I can imagine how tired you must still be feeling. Maybe cooking a couple of things in bulk on the weekend would be the way to go and then freezing the leftovers. Then you don't need to cook during the week, you just need to reheat.

Judy ~ We've had way too much rain this year too. Since Easter it has rained far more often than not. Plus the early dumping of snow this year hasn't helped. There are still about 300 houses without power - it's been over 2 weeks. We're not one, thank goodness, I don't know how I'd manage for that long. Good luck with your 10,000 steps.

Rachel ~ Have an awesome holiday and HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow. Relax have fun and I'm sure you'll look fantastic in your sundress with how great you've been going staying OP.

Catch up with you soon.

Default See you in 10 days!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! I will miss checking in here while I am gone, but I'll be thinking about you all. And as soon as I get back I'll try to get on and tell you about my trip, and maybe even post a photo!

Good luck with staying OP everyone. I know you can do it!

Tanya - I hope things are going well with improving processes and services as well as with your weather. We finally got out of the rainy day pattern and today is warm but finally dry. I don't know how long that will last but I'm enjoying it. Thank goodness you didn't lose power. The most we've ever lost power for was a couple of days. We have a little generator that we can use to keep the 'fridge running. Of course, that only works if you have gasoline handy - if the power is off in the area, you can't pump gas.

Rachel - I hope you had a lovely birthday and you're enjoying Hawaii.

Carla - so, did you get any kitties? I hope your weather has improved as ours has. Are you feeling any stronger? You would have been proud of me. I went to the pool yesterday and it turns out that they have a water aerobics instructor who will be teaching a class Tues - Fri for four weeks (three to go). I did a session yesterday and it was quite a workout! I started PT yesterday (after I went to the pool) and the PT wants to me to hold off on further sessions for a week. I am allowed to walk in the pool though and I'm planning to go over there after the Yankees-Mets game. I hope your Cubbies are doing better than the Yankees!

I had a couple of high point days this week - the pool paqrty, the Yankee game and then we went out to dinner with my parents on Thursday. I went over my points and knew I was going to see a gain. When I got up this morning, I thought about not going to my meeting. Then I thought about going but taking a no-weigh day. Finally though,. I decided to just get on the scale, face the music and go on. I had a 1.4 pound gain so I didn'tmake my June goal and am now a little further away from my 10% BUT I feel re-energized. I'm making a shrimp and vegetable creole recipe from the "Simply the Best" WW cookbook and I think it's going to be good tasting and good point-wise. We're having a little bar-b-que tomorrow and even though there will be sausage, we're also making chicken and I made two no-points salads and will wash some of the cole slaw we got too.

Karen - I hope all is OK. Did your PC finally go?

Have a great one!
