Hello Everyone,

I'm new to 3FC. I'm looking to share experiences and get support. My Doctor started me on Xenical 7 weeks ago and so far I've lost 25 lbs . I have been really been counting calories and exersizing alot. Hope to chat with you all soon.

Hey, I just saw this thread..and realized that the majority are old posts..but one new one! i got a prescription for Xenical but my insurance doesn't cover it...they'd rather pay for the other 5 meds that i take..all related to my obesity--diabetes, cholesterol, hypertension.....oh and depression.....So I pay for the prescription out of pocket.

Anyway, I work at home so it works great for me..Because of the cost of the drug..somwhere around $3-4 / pill...it has greatly affected my fat intake..I only take the xenical when I 'm eating higher fat foods or if i eat out. I know I would get better results if I took it more than one time a day, but I really eat fairly low fat...1% milk, 2% or 1% cheese, i can believe it's not butter spray instead of margarine or butter, pam spray or a little olive oil. If I plan to eat a meal like pizza or steak..i plan to take the xenical for that day.

I'm following the jorge cruise 3 hr diet..which is eating a set # of calories, low fat every 3 hrs to help balance out your metabolism / blood sugars..i've lost 12 lbs in the 1st 3 wks....but i haven't been taking xenical much lately due to my lower fat diet..

Would like to hear how others are doing with it...

Well, I've lost another 3 lbs this week. I have been finding it really hard to eat all my calories and total fat grams everyday. I feel satisfied with what I'm eating, But at the end of the day when I add up the total cals and fats they are lower than they should be. I know I need to keep to my 1300-1400 cals and 47 grams of fat, but its hard. Anyone else having this problem.

Default I'm going to try Xenical..

I just have to wait for my work's benefits to finalize everything.. But for some reason I am a little nervous. I think because I've heard all these stories about people having to run to the bathroom all day. I can't have that happen at work! What can I honestly expect from this?

I have been taking Xenical for 8 weeks now and have had no side effects.
As long as you stick to a low fat diet and count calories you should be ok. I was worried when I started too, but so far so good. I have lost 25 lbs so far.

Good luck, keep us posted on how its going.

Default new here and new to Xenical...

I have been using it for 2 weeks now and have lost 2.1kgs which is 4.6lbs. Only have side affects if I am not careful....and boy am I careful. I admit that I am only careful on the fatty stuff, not calorie intake or anything. Though I am drinking more water now. I have a problem with the heel of my foot that I am trying to work on, so exercising isn't easy right now. That would help alot.....well, getting this weight off would help too.
I live in Taiwan. I am American married to a national. Luke is a pastor here and we have 3 boys, the oldest of whom I homeschool (he is almost 8yr old).
I am at the prepreggo weight with ds3, 13lbs from preggo weight with ds2 and FAR from preggo weight with ds1....doubt I'll see that one again, but hey it's worth a try.
I think I will have to get a nifty ticker thing like some of you.
Oh, Xenical is OTC here in Taiwan. I pay roughly $30US for 14 pills. Sounds right I think. DH doesn't know I take them....you all are the only ones who know. I am taking them to give me jumpstart on this weightloss challenge. I don't expect to be taking them all my life and would like to just start seeing a good weightloss, get things under control and get off of the pills. We shall see!!!
Good luck girls.

You are doing great. My doc just gave me Xenical today. I see that you are counting cal. and fat grams my doc didn't say to do that, wonder why. Do you take them 3 times a day with a meal? Any helpful hints

mackeeg,

When I started on Xenical I join the support line, the number was on the box. They told me how many cals and fat grams I should be having and sent me out a food journal and persoanl food guide. The food guide lists foods and how many cals and fat are in that food. I also have increased my exersize alot and drink alot of water. Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi. I just spotted this resurrected thread and thought I'd split it. The old thread is still here at http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=29040.

Yeah I used xenical before, it was kind of "messy" during my Freshman year in college and I was eating on campus food. I think I lost weight wasnt really watching, besides i usually only used it for fatty foods i have some pills packed away in the garage some where they are possibly expired so I will not be touching those.
