Wink Newbie looking for buddy with similar goals.

Hi everyone,
My name is Chantal and I'm so glad I found this site. There's so much good information and support. Mine has been a disapointing journey.

I went on South Beach in Oct/04 and had lost 35 lbs. It wasn't that hard because I was so determined and was walking and doing water aerobics at least 3-4 times/week. The weight just fell right off. I still had a ways to go, but it felt good to know I could do it.

In June/05 I met the love of my life. We instantly knew this was it for both of us. We moved in together at the end of July. We don't have a car so I cannot make it to my water aerobics anymore. There's no place near by that gives the classes. Unfortunately, my bf uses food as comfort and I reverted to my old eating habits because we would always be together. I have tried over and over again to lose weight since we've been together. I am back to the weight that I was at before I started SB in 2004. My bf has also gained a lot of weight and he just doesn't make any effort to lose it. Not that his weight bothers me, but it certainly hinders my success.

I started on SB again 2 weeks ago and have lost 7 lbs, but again, over the weekend, I got distracted by fast food, just like we always are. Sweets were never my weekness, it is pizza, burgers, chili fries, chinese food, etc.

I have about 80 lbs to lose and I can't do it alone. I am looking for a buddy with similar weight loss goals. I really need to do it this time, without reverting back to the old habits. I know what to eat and on SB, I eat enough where I am not full and can lose weight. I just need to be able to resist the junk, eve when it's sitting in front of me because my boyfriend is eating it.

I plan on starting a food and exercise journal today. I also bought a bike and plan on using it every day. Also, once I get my strength to go for a long bike ride, I will ride all the way to the pool across the city and do water aerobics again. That is my favorite workout. It doesn't feel like working out, it feels like fun.

So any takers on being my buddy? I will help you along the way, and we WILL SUCCEED!

hey inspired, i have sort of the same problem, my bf is a bigtime junk food junkie, like slushies from the 7-11 every day along with a bag of 5 cent candy and 3 chocolate bars kinda junkie. Its really hard to keep myself motivated when i see him eating all of it right in front of me, i am so weak haha. i also had a baby in april so i need to get rid of my jelly belly. I am looking into the south beach diet but as for right now i am just cutting calories carbs and fat, also taking the baby for walks every day

anyways, id love to be your buddy
( ps im from nova scotia haha, moving back in a few weeks)

I'd like to be buddies cupcake84. We'll keep ourselves motivated while smelling the pizza in the other room. My boyfriend is a big sweets guy. I'm glad I'm not big on sweets. But when he orders pizza and other junk, I just want to kill him. LOL. Other than that, he's very encouraging. He keeps telling me that he can see I lost the weight and to keep up the good work. He's never had a problem with the way I look. But I am doing this for ME, and no one else. I'll pm you my details when I'm off work. Toodles!

Hey! My name is Courtnie and I live in BC!

I started at about 215 and now I am down to 188 and hoping for 130. About 60 more to lose, but that could change a bit lower once I get closer to my goal. I gained 30-40 pounds when my boyfriend and I started dating almost two years ago. I am getting to close to where I was when I met him.

I have a exercise bike that I ride first thing in the morning and seems to REALLY help me. I am doing calorie counting so that I can enjoy a slice of pizza or something else once and a while. I keep a food journal on www.fitday.com. I am online almost all day and would be more then willing to be a buddy! Let me know

Good job on your weight loss Courtnie! You must be so proud of yourself. I had gone down to 169 lbs my first time around...before I met my boyfriend. Poor guy...he gets the blame. LOL. It's not all him. He did not force feed me this junk food. It was all my doing, but the fact that I had a "pigging out" buddy certainly didn't help things.

I am here like 10 times a day. I'm guilty of not posting though. I'm basically taking everything in right now.

I'd love to be buddies. I need all the help and motivation I can get. We can help each other out.

I went for a 25 min bike ride this evening and almost fell on the floor when I walked back through the door. I think I overdid it for my first time back on a bike for about 5 yrs (just bought myself a new bike), because I certainly was not going slow and at an easy gear. Gotta watch that. It's just that I used to be able to go for miles and barely breaking a sweat. That was when I was 120 lbs however. Oh how I miss those days!!

One day at a time right? I'm glad we're all in this together. It makes it so much easier.
