Default Weight 177, Goal 127. Looking for Buddy

I am 17 years old. I have knee problems- I've had 10 surgeries in the past 5 years for my knees, 2 of which involved cutting leg muscles and severing the ligaments. I've been put on heavy restrictions on what I'm able to do.

Thank goodness my doctor has allowed me to begin using an exercise bike.
I'd really like support from someone around my age (early college. I'm a hs grad.) who enjoys workouts like dance, exercise bikes, and pilates...that sort of stuff.

Mostly I just want someone to talk to.

Please PM me if you are willing to be my buddy. I'm really not picky. I just want someone to talk to about weight loss. If you want to be my buddy, I'd love to have ya!

*hugs to all the pretty people!!! (which is all of us!!!)*

Default Can't PM you!

Hey GreenLace,

I tried to PM you but it says you haven't enabled private messaging? If you haven't yet then go to the User CP page, click "edit options" and click "enable private messages". It took me a while to find it too... Either that or you're already enabled and I've somehow messed up my attempt at PMing...

Anyhow, I'm new here and I'd love to be your buddy, as I see we've got about the same goal weight! I just turned twenty, and I'm in my second year of uni (I guess that's a sophomore in college to you?). (I live in Australia hence the "language" difference...)

Another thing we've got in common is the whole surgery-preventing-exercise thing, although mine wasn't as dramatic or long-running as yours. It shows what a strong person you must be, to go through all that and at the end of it jump on your bike and pedal away! I had a tumour (benign, thank goodness) removed from my ovary last August; the thing was the size of a watermelon and weighed 24 pounds (I looked like I was very pregnant).

And it shows what a lazy-bum I am, that I was cleared to exercise at the end of the year but I was so out of shape/out of the habit that I have done zilch till now. I notice from your tickers that you've already got a whole exercise routine going - good for you! I just hope I can keep up...

Stationary biking is my chosen exercise as well (since I can do it while watching TV and therefore hopefully forget I'm exercising), and one of my goals is to get my fitness up to the point where I can take a dance class at uni next year and keep up, and not be embarrassed in front of all the skinny dancer types! I went to the free trial class at the start of last year, while I was still "fake-pregnant", and pretty much was left eating everyone's dust...

Hope to hear from you once you get PM up and running!
