Listen to your body. If common sense is telling you not to do the strength training, then that's what you do. Concentrate on lunges, squats and ab work, stuff that doesn't use your arm. Better to miss a week of training that to keep going, cause real damage, and have to take months off.
I have never done walk away the pounds, however, nowadays the advice is not to use weights whilst walking, due to postural reasons, and limited benefits. So I would say knock off the weights with your walk away the pounds, and concentrate on strength training (once your arm is better
