Nice of you to drop by our little corner of the forum! Kick off your shoes and have a seat! Here's a nice glass of chilled wine--you'll have to ask Gayle what kind--now, relax and join in the fun!
Glad to be here. Guess I need to let you know a little bit about me. I'm about to turn 43 in July. I'm a single mom of two teenage daughters. Lexis is 14 and Lindsey is 18 and married to Jonathon. They are expecting their first baby in November. She's having a time of it too. Can't keep anything down. She spent the weekend in the hospital for dehydration. Hopefully this will hurry up and pass.
Have a great boyfriend of 2 1/2 years that I am crazy in love with. He's very supportive of me being on Weight Watchers and always buys me little things when I reach a "mini-goal". He's always said that he's not attracted to really skinny women so that worries me a little. I don't want to be super thin, just thinner. He's reassured me that he's still going to love me when I'm thinner so I'm going to take his word for it. But on the other hand, I'm doing this for ME, not him. He should love me no matter what.
I am about a pound shy of being half-way to my goal of 145 pounds and I'm excited but kinda nervous about being able to STAY on goal after I lose the weight. I would like to firm up certain areas of my body and am working on doing that right now.
I work a full and part-time job. I stay as busy as I can doing things so I don't have time to sit around and eat. I refuse to grow old!
I am so glad I've found this website. It has helped me see there is hope and this can be done! Looking forward to a great friendship!
I was born and raised in northeast AR--about an hour from Jonesboro (AR) and an hour from Memphis (TN). I have lived in several areas of the state, though. I lived in Magnolia (SW) and worked in Lewisville (SW again) for about two years. During that time I also worked in Ashdown, El Dorado and Hope and had to make several work-related trips to Shreveport. I trained in McGehee (SE). I joke that I've had "experience" in every corner of the state except the Northwest--but they're not worthy of me
WELCOME LINDA! As Cheryl said, pour yourself a glass of wine, sit back, relax and enjoy the conversation. Any wine will do...No such thing as a bad one! LOL!
You are a busy woman, two jobs and teenagers! You probably really do need the wine!
Your doing awesome with the weight loss! Keep it up!
BTW: I turned 43 this past May, it isn't all that bad...
Cheryl, you amaze me with your intros! SO creative! GREAT JOB!
I wonder how our little birthday girl is enjoying her day???
Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully before too much longer I'll know the family members being mentioned in the posts, and the jobs, friends, etc. It's amazing how close people can get and relate to things and never have to meet. Maybe one day we can plan a get together.
I've decided I want to look like Deelite in a bikini! I'll have to get the courage up first to wear it though! I just have to get out of that "I'm still fat" frame of mind.
Shelley what are you doing tonight for your birthday? I hope that you are enjoying yourself and being pampered a little, heck how about pampered a whole lot.
I'm back home from Salem, very tired! We had a great time! Promise to write more tomorrow, but will tell one story now! We went to Dogtown. It is a very old "ghost town" in Gloucester Mass. It was settled before the Revolutionary War. When the war came, all the men and boys left to fight in the war, and the women were on their own. They all had dogs as protection from the Indians, (hence the name Dogtown). Very few, men came back after the war, it was hard country to farm, millions of rocks so many men stayed away, or were killed in the war. The few that did come back, worked in the shipping trade and most were killed there. Now all that is left there, are hiking trails and you can see many cellars, and other remaining things. Very interesting. Someone went through and engraved inspirational sayings on some rocks, and also numbers on rocks. You can follow on the map, see the number, and the map tells you who lived there. We bought a small book, and not only did the book tell you who lived there, but a brief history of the person.
The pic in my avatar is of my father during WWII. If he were still living, he would be 86 years old. I made a star shaped wreath with the picture inside and placed on an easel at the cemetary. On the ribbon going across the pic, I wrote "Our Hero". I thought it turned out nice.
I'm glad the trip went well Lynneye! Please share more when you have a free minute!
YES SHELLEY! YOU DESERVE TO BE PAMPERED!
And YES DEE! You are one hot little mama in your bikini! You have did a great job losing and maintaining!
