Default Hi!! I'm thinking of joining you guys :)

I'm detoxing this week to get past a plateu (will be done with that on Sunday ) and I'm thinking of going Sonoma after I'm done with that!! It looks pretty similar to the type of eating I'm trying to promote in this house anyway, so it should be a breeze for me... but it's always easier to have some guidelines set in stone! I suppose I better go find the book somewhere, yeah? LOL are there a lot of recipes etc in the book itself?! How successful has everyone been?

Welcome Valrock!!

If you are promoting healthy eating in the house then the Sonoma Diet should be just right . I've been filling my cupboards with vegetables and fruits for a long time now and avoid refined sugars nearly always. This hasn't been a diet for me, just a way of life that's developed over my years and years of struggling with weight. I was pretty much in your same boat when I started the Sonoma diet. I promote healthy eating in my home already -veggies, fruits, lean proteins and whole grains - as it sounds you already do too. The Sonoma diet just gives me the added tools to lose weight - such as portion and sugar control. I've maintained the weight I've been at for several years by simply eating healthier - the problem is I'm not at the maintenance weight I'd like to be! I am hoping Sonoma is the added boost I need to finally shed these pounds.

I am almost finished with Wave 1 - what is supposed to be the strictest part of the diet. I can tell you that is isn't a walk in the park, but it's not overly challenging either. My favorite part is that I've not been feeling starved like with some diets. There is quite a bit of cooking involved, but if you like to cook (like me!) then you'll enjoy it. Other women on the Sonoma thread have been losing and I'm confident that if you stick with this diet it will work! I don't plan to weigh until I'm done with Wave 1, but I can say I've had 2 people tell me I look slimmer. That's probably more motivational than the actual scale anyway! I say this - buy the book, do the diet, change your life for the better. What have you got to lose???

GOOD LUCK !!
Angela
