Default Here I go again...

Hi everyone! I'm Jordan. I have been battling my weight since I was very young, and have, probably like many of you, yo-yo'd up and down the scale. I turned 30 in September, and shortly thereafter moved to a new city. When I moved, I was under 200lbs and making good progress. After I moved, the weight began to pile back on and I'm now uncomfortably over the 200 lb mark. My short term goal is to lose 20 lbs. That's about 10% of my current weight. My longer term goal is to weigh what it says on my driver's license. After that, I'll focus on my ultimate goal weight of 135. I've had some success with other plans, but none of it stuck when the going got tough. I've come to realize that I am just the kind of person who needs to have a lot of support and encouragement to make eating better and exercising daily my life instead of just a "diet" I stick to temporarily. I don't want to turn 31 at my current weight, and while i realize that it's ultimately up to me, I'll take all the help I can get, and hopefully I can provide some encouragement to someone else along the way, as well.

Thanks, Jordan

Jordan.

Read around the threads here and you'll find lots of encouragement from a lot of nice people.

I know what you mean about weighing what your driver's license says! I finally hit that mark and even went beyond. Now I want to go in and have it changed to my lower weight!

Think of this whole losing weight thing as a new lifestyle, not as a diet. Find some ways that you can make little changes as you go along and keep in mind that it's not a race. Little changes that you can live with will stick with you better than some drastic ones that you'll give up on.

You can do this! Good luck!

thank you! I'm so sorry i just noticed that someone responded. I should have checked days ago.

I really appreciate everyone on here. On the days when i just can't see a reason to get up and do my 4 mile walk, or go into the kitchen and make a healthy lunch for the next day, i just come here and find a whole lot of very good reasons!

LOL, what is says on your drivers license!!, LOL LOL Its a darn good thing the BMV doesn't actually make us step on a scale because mine hasn't been right since 1980..........although, it would definitely be nice to have my weight match it now.

Here I go again....Oh my, do I ever know that feeling!! As a matter of fact, this is my "here I go again-Day 1) and it's not even a Monday...LOL Jordan, you actually had me checking out my DL to see what was on there. We don't have to have our weight on them thank goodness...like seeing it stamped on something validates it and makes it real. That's why I hate scales! Just wanted to say hey! good luck! and you're not alone on your "here I go again" journey.

Welcome Jordan!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lkay: I had to look at my drivers license too!!! Luckily Tennessee doesn't have it on theirs either!

Keep up the hard work!
Think of it as a lifestyle change and not a diet. Drink more water and exercise more.
