I know you'll all agree that we are really thankful for the free services here at 3FC. The sisters offer all of this support and information with no charges to us. There are a couple of ways though that we can help out.
If you are thinking about buying anything at Amazon, why not help out 3FC at the same time? You can do this by clicking on the button for Amazon on any page in the forum, or by clicking on the button on the main 3FC page at www.3fatchicks.com . A portion of your purchase price will be given to 3FC by Amazon. It doesn't increase your price at all, but it does help out 3FC. You can use any of the Amazon.com links that you see on the site in order to help contribute to the site.
Also, BTW, in case you didn't know it, you can view the message boards "ad free" for a minimal charge. I think it's like $15 for 6 months. A very small investment to be rid of the annoying ads and make your pages load quicker.
There have been some concerns expressed by the powers that be about copyright infringement. So please, if you are directly quoting someone else or printing an article in whole or in part, please give credit where credit is due!!

\
Ammi~ Nope,, Weedeating ,,,is,, well I have a weed eater,, a motorized machine, hand held that has a tool on the head of it and when I give it gas it rotates and cuts weeds.. we have a bank here at the house that we cant mow. so we weedeat it.. the Garded got weeded yesterday.. I will take a pic and show you what I am talkin about...... I hope my next WI proves productive, but deed ammi, I am wonderring when my stall is gonna hit...... NOT that I want one.. just trying to stay realistic.. in a way.......
Ammi - Unfortunately I ended up missing Doctor Who! I set everything up to record, but some time during the week our power went out and the TV/VCR reset. I was so mad! Someone suggested a DVR - I would love to get one, but with the BF money troubles I just can't justify spending anything right now. I will have to see if I can find it somewhere, otherwise I will have to wait until the dvd's come out and rent the one I missed. There are two more episodes left from the first series, but it isn't on next week because of the holiday weekend.
Speaking of BF money issues the other night he tells me he is thinking about saving up to buy a boat (just a small one). He went sailing when we were on vacation and he really misses it. I almost blew a gasket, but I calmly said why don't you find out how much something like that costs and then when you are done paying off your debt you can see if it will fit into your budget. He didn't seem to like the idea of waiting a few years to be able to get it. I am starting to think he is just not going to get it and that he is not going to change. If that is the case I don't know that I can stay with him. I need financial security, and although I have no problem spending money on what one loves to do, that can only happen once the foundation is in place.
Sorry to keep going on about this money thing, but I have a feeling it is going to be an even bigger issue for me before it is resolved.
Ammi: I find that I start answering a thread at one time during the day and have to finish later cause ya never know here in babyland. Like Wyllen I think said when I finally post to it, its closed or past the *stop here* point. I do respond to closed posts in the current thread, although its maddenning to keep up especially if you lose a day of checking in. That's life I guess. 5lbs gone, awesome job!
Valerie: Thanks for noticing. I feel kinda bad for losing weight almost daily. I mean I'm sure its some combination of nursing my babe and being the initial weight loss that happens when you start a diet. Still though, its a great motivater!
Hpnotg & Dancermom: Just jump in and start commenting. That's what I did.
Sharon: I think if something is giving you pain, its a sign that something is wrong and you should go to the doctor before something worse happens. Glad you are feeling better though. :hugs:
Zelda: Yeah we have to wait until the co-worker is free - which sucks. I'm hoping itwill get done within the week or at least on the weekend or else I'm going to ask hubby to ask someone else to help him out. I hate depending on people! Ughh. Oh oh you asked for pictures! I picked my favorite five so far and attached them - hope it worked!
MsCrockett: I love that pic in your avatar of the dog! He's so cute!
Wyllenn: Congrats on tenure! How excellent is that!
Wow I can't believe I've gotten through the posts. I was behind in 3! Anyway... today is going well - down another two pounds. I can't wait to get down enough to fit into my old clothes as nothing much fits well these days. I really look forward to going to Value Village and buying more clothes. I love it there!
We are actually getting out of the house today - yah! Might stop by Toys R Us to buy Aidan a rattle or something.
so i decided to quit my job. i really thought it was going to be ok, but i really dont agree with the ethical practices of Ballys, so a flexable schedule wont really counteract that...
that being said, i also recommitted to my diet today. either way i have to eat in a day, there is no reason it cant be healthy. right?
i will be returning to weight watchers on saturday and going full steam ahead no matter what damage i have done
by the way - cookie dough seriously might be the devil.
Are we a scary bunch of people, do we not welcome our new friends that join us here? I am just wondering why some of the newbies feel weird joining our thread and have started their own. It's a shame because although I would like to get to know all of them, I just don't have the time to post on two threads. Oh well, perhaps they will migrate over here some time.
Lori - So the holidays have started and you still have a full head of hair I hope you had a great day out at Grant's Farm, and that you took lots of photos
For me WW is the best diet going, I do hope you will give it a go. If you need any advice about it all, feel free to ask me. This is how good WW is, tomorrow I am going out, in the morning I am going to Starbucks, where I will have a caramel machiatto coffee (tall), not sure what I will have for lunch, I guess it will be a sandwich or something. But for tea I will be having an individual size Hawaiian pizza at the pizza hut. All that, plus breakfast before I leave and I will still have points left to put towards a piece of Beth's birthday cake. Not bad for a lady on a diet huh??
Patti - now I kind of guessed that CMA might stand for Country Music Awards, but it was the S that confused me. What a shame that it has ended up in direct competition with the AI final. You would think that they would have the sense not to compete with each other. Oh well, I am glad you have decided on AI, and that you are going to vote for Taylor
Glad your foot isn't giving you too much grief, I guess you are still getting your exercise in.
Annie - I am so proud of you. You had to eat while you are out, you didn't stuff your face, and you didn't think oh well, I've been bad, I may as well just have a whole day off the diet. It's lifestyle changes like that that we need to make. We can have a nice meal out now and then and not use that as a reason to go mad. Well done
I am only exercising every other day, but on the inbetween days I will still do my housework, or walk to town, so I will still be active.
That book you bought sounds really great, I don't think I would be able to put it down either. Do you ever buy books from Amazon, I have found them to be quite reasonably priced especially if they are having a sale.
Crock - thanks for explaining what weed eating is. I know the kind of machine you mean, we have them too. In Australia weed eating is called using the whipper snipper, and over here we call it strimming the grass with a strimmer. They certainly are a handy garden tool aren't they! Did you get it all done today.
You know Crock you are doing so well with your diet and your exercise, I am not sure you will have a stall. I think the weight loss might slow down to 1 or 2 lbs a week eventually, but I don't think you will stop losing weight before you get to goal. Try not to worry about it too much.
Nancy - oh no, you missed Doctor Who, I can imagine how annoyed you were. Still it was a good reason to miss it, having a nice holiday I am sure it won't be long until it's repeated and you will get to see it then.
Good on you for saying just the right thing when your BF said he wanted to buy a small boat. You are absolutely right that he has to sort out his debts before thinking about buying something else like that. Maybe with enough reminders from you whenever he talks about buying stuff it may just sink in that he has to wait. I think you need to give you and him a time limit, and if after that time he still doesn't seem to get the money thing, that's when you have to move on. Like you said, you need financial security, staying with somebody who may never give you that isn't fair to you.
Heather - I do understand how hard it is to keep up with threads especially if you have been away for a whole day, so I guess in that sense it would be easier if all the posts were in one place.
I notice you have lost more weight, another 4 lbs!!! since I last saw you post. Well done you are doing amazingly!
Your baby is so adorable, just look at those huge eyes, and such a gorgeous smile. Thanks for putting the photos on your post so we could see him. Did you end up buying him a rattle today like you planned?
Luan - what a shame that you have had to give up your job. Dare I ask what the unethical stuff is that you weren't happy with? It would be so cool if you could get a job now as a make up artist
Good for you for recommitting to your diet on Saturday. You were doing so great before and I am sure you will carry on that way too.
Ok got to go do some emails now. So take care all and if I don't get back on here tonight then I will 'see' you all tomorrow.
Ammi, heehee Oh no the newbie thread has been discovered!! For the record, you are not scary at all!
Actually to all, this is the best group of people ever!! I feel so motivated by you guys, and so inspired. In fact, you guys are the main reason I dragged myself to the gym in the wee hours of the morning to move it and shake it on those awful torture devices in my local Gym! Thank you guys for all the support and well wishes and great stories and shared accomplishments. Now--I feel like I am doing an acceptance speech here. I have to get back to work lest I never be allowed to come home! Sorry this is so short, will post more personal stuff once I am home free.
~Dusty
PS. love you guys
PPS. No...seriously.
PPPS. Sorry for the PS and the PPS please disregaurd them.
PPPPS. Actually disregaurd the PPPS, I DO love you guys afterall.
Ammi – You’re going to be with me in two-ville soon. The view is better down here!
Lori – Good to see you again, and Happy Birthday to your son! I’m about to turn 20 in about 10 days as well.
Annie – Great attitude! Don’t let it get you down. And 10 french fries is a WHOLE lot better than the entire basket! Bet your dogs were loving it, though!
Just a quick post, as it's been a busy day, and it's not even over with yet. I'll catch you all later! Sorry if I didn't respond to everyone like I usually do, but I'm on a time constraint!
Hi!
I have been lurking around for, oh I don't know, like a month and am finally saying hi! It's weird because after lurking for so long I feel like I know all of you already. My sn is kind of weird, heh, so feel free to just call me Chrissy. I am 25 and have struggled with my weight for as long as I can remember. But something has recently clicked and I feel a mindset change. Lets hope it stays, right? My best friends wedding is in 3 weeks and I am her maid of honor. The dress is BEAUTIFUL! And I fit into it but I would like a little more clearance around the midsection if you get what I'm saying. So I am hoping for a few pounds before then. Right now I am doing the 90/10. Which just basically means I am counting calories and exercising. I just bought Turbo Jam and OMG ITS SO MUCH FUN! I never thought I would say exercising was fun, but for some reason I love it. I actually laugh while working out. Can you imagine? lol Crazy, I tell you. Anyway, enough of my rambling. I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. You gals all seem so wonderful and supportive, I hope I can add something to the group!
Chrissy
Hi all...I've missed a few threads and I totally forgot what people said to me in earlier posts...so whatever.
Still no resolution on the roommate and the apartment. We went to look at a house to rent..it's an interesting situation but it has potential if the price is right.
I'm sending the letter to Sarah tomorrow. It took 4 drafts but I think it's just right now.
Wyellen...Tenure & Creme Brulee!!! What a great night!
This weekend will be a challenge...it's the big convention in Irvine all weekend. I usually do well with the food and I bring my own snacks, but I won't get to the gym all weekend and I skipped it this morning. Ugh. I am hating this plateau more and more daily. The other day one of the ladies who works at the gym asked me if I have seen any difference since I started working out..and I told her no...none at all. No loss of inches that I can tell and for sure no weight loss. Why am I getting out of bed at the crack of dawn and sweating myself silly anyways? No...I'll be back in there tomorrow morning, but it's getting to me.
Dusty - so glad to hear that we aren't scary You cracked me up with your PS stuff I am really pleased that you are finding it so great here and that we are helping to motivate you to get to the gym. Now if only I could get that motivated!!
Kayley - you won't believe how much I am looking forward to being in Two-ville. It's only 10 lbs away, but it isn't going to come fast enough
Chrissy - great to have you here, glad that you have stopped lurking and have introduced yourself It's a wonderful feeling when our mindset changes for who knows what reason and we can diet with a new found vigor. If it starts to ease off then all we have to do is come here for all the motivation to keep on track that we need!
What is Turbo Jam, apart from a really funny exercise DVD? Is it aerobics, I don't think I am up to aerobics just yet, even if it is a laugh.
I bet you are looking forward to being the maid of honor at your friends wedding, I hope you will post some pictures of you in your beautiful dress.
Julee - I am sorry that you are feeling so annoyed and frustrated at your plateau. Hang in there my friend, at least if you keep on trying you know you will break that plateau, better than if you let it break you and how great you have done with your diet so far
Glad you got that letter written to Sarah, now send it and good riddence to her.
Chrissy WELCOME and You have already adding something to us by posting,, looking forward to your posts... I gotta know what Turbo Jam is as well, I dont know that one...
Dusty~ YOu crack me up with the PS's.. too funny...
Ammi ~ Thanks for the words over the Weight Stall.. I am thinking about it just before I weigh in and a few times during the week,, dont know if I am worried or trying to prepare.. not sure,,, I am eating healthy and changed my life and the weight loss is the bonus,, I wont know If I am living up to what I am saying untill I hit a stall and see if the not losing every week affects me,, I think that is what has me to thinking,, Ya know?
Dusty and Ammi!!! Oh, please feel free to jump right in with the exercise thread! The more exercise people record, the faster we get to our goal and the further we go for the year!!!
You can set a goal for the rest of the month, if you like! But it’s not like we’re gonna run you out on a rail if you don’t set a goal. Just start moving and post!
Dusty – glad to see we helped you get out to the gym! Just wait till you start with the exercise thread – they’ll be no stopping you!!!
As for what I teach, I don’t think I ever mentioned it before… maybe I did. I teach psychology – NOT the “couch” stuff. I’m a social psychologist.
Nancy – I loved your description of being kidnapped by a book! It’s great when that happens and you have the time. Hard (but still fun) if you don’t!
Waterchiklet (the “other” heather?) – It is hard to keep up with the posts, isn’t it? Congrats on the 2 pounds!
Chrissy – Welcome! Sounds like you have a good plan… Let me invite you to our exercise thread as well! You can seriously start any time! Seriously!
Julee – For whatever reason I had a plateau and then weight slow down when I first started weight lifting. Give it time! It will happen!!
I just wanted to post a fairly short message (for me) as I'm going to be busy for the next few days and I'm not sure I'll be able to get on here much. This afternoon we have "Trade Off" time for a few hours after school. That is basically where we work in our own time to get a few extra days off at the end of the year. Originally the kids were going to get off three days before the teachers, which meant we would have to find something to do after the school year was officially finished. Makes sense huh? We have sent home reports, finished our programs, organised our rooms, then we have three extra days to do... what? It isn't much use to plan for the following year, as you don't necessarily know what staff you'll have or what will happen over the summer break as far as enrolments go, which can affect which class you have. Thankfully someone in Head Office gained a few brain cells and decided that we could work those days off during the year. It is a MUCH better idea and we get a little longer for the summer break, which is lovely.
After the trade-off time I have my doctor's appointment to get the stitches out, have my second B12 injection and find out if she got all of the skin cancer last week. Please think of me and hope for a good result on that one. I have a feeling that this is going to make for a fairly late evening, as she is often late.
Tomorrow after school I have some Professional Development at a local teacher supply store. It is to do with Literacy, so I just couldn't miss it. I LOVE BOOKS!!
Then, on Friday I have another PD session on Literacy in at a city hotel. It is at the Hyatt, so quite nice hopefully. The PD starts at 5:00, goes until about 10:00, then also continues on Saturday from 8:30 to 5:00. I am going to be a little tired after all of that I think, but I am SO looking forward to it. Hubby and I are staying overnight at the hotel, which will be much easier than trying to drive the 30 mins home at night, then up early Sat morning to drive back in again.
On Sunday we are heading into the city (again) to go to the new Borders that is opening tomorrow. We've never had a Borders here, and I am really looking forward to checking it out. I loved going to the Borders when we were in the US.
So, I just want to let you know that I may find time to duck on here and do some reading, but I don't think I'll have time for personals for a few days.
I know you'll understand, but it is still disappointing for me.
