hey everyone, I am new to this website. I am not new to trying to lose weight though. Seems like I have been trying to lose weight for the last 10 years. That is so depressing. Anyway, I have always succeeded, but always gained it back. Well this time I havnt even succeeded, because I know what the eventual outcome will be. So I think in my head, I am sabatoging myself. I havnt been able to budge an oz in the last 7 months! I am tired of being fat. I want to loose it, but loose it forever. I was wondering if there was anyone out there with a similar goal of loosing 20 lbs, that would like to keep in daily contact with motivation and "check-ins" I think the reason I was able to loose it after my first two babies, was because I had friends who were going through the same thing "baby weight" I have since moved to another state, and dont have any of my close friends to help motivate each other. So hoping this will work instead.....cant wait to be held accountable to someone, and help hold someone else accountable. Who wants to do this with me???? Lets go!!
Hi there and welcome to the site. I haven't been on too long either but everyone here is so helpful and informative. I am 34 and it seems like I've been dieting forever. I lost 30 lbs on Weight Watchers after my second son was born and I seemed to keep it off for quite awhile but have gained it back in the last few months and I, like you, can't seem to get it to budge. What diet are you going to try this time ? I am going to start Atkins (low carb) to see if I can get the weight off. My exercise level has gone way down also and I am going to start back into it. I just want to fit back into my clothes, especially with summer here I have nothing to wear. Anyway, keep in touch.
I am going to try to keep track of my calories. Staying around 1200 calories a day! Seems like I have tried everything else. I lost weight on WW a couple years ago also. I tried to join again the first of this year, and after a couple meetings I again just lost motivation and didnt go again. I am like you though, summer is all but here, and I just want to fit into my clothes!! As for exercise, my goal is to get ATLEAST 4 days a week in of something, anything...I love yoga and pilates. I have a few dvds that I use for that. I was walking up until a week ago. Here in Michigan it has been raining alot lately...so that killed my motivation there. Excuses excuses huh? lol Anyway..thanks for responding, lets def. keep in touch.:)
Hi ladies! I am fairly new here too and would love to join you! I too have 2 kids and since having them (my youngest is 21 mo.) I can't get by weight under control. I was doing good for a while and then my mom passed away the day before Easter and since then I have just been way off. I am also counting calories (1200-1500 a day). I feel ok and then I pass a mirror and just am horrified. I will commit to checking in daily if you guys are in for it.
Idontwant2bfat - have you ever tried fitday? That is where I tracked my calories before and I loved it. It is pretty easy to use.
BrownEyedJ - have you done Atkins before? I did it before getting preg. with my last. It worked really well but just be careful because when you start to introduce carbs again it is pretty easy to gain the weight back (that is why I am here). I did feel great on it though!! I just got really sick of eating protien.
I am with you ladies! I work up 30lbs heavier recently and need to get it under control. I'm trying to do WW Core. I am hoping that gets my nightly "grazing" under control!
D.
adaem...we can do this!! So sorry to hear about your mother *hugs* I am such an "emotional eater" that I dont know if I would be able to even think about doing anything but eating if I were you. So KUDOS to you girl!! It is funny to me, I would kill to be your starting weight ...hehe. I am using fitday to. yeah!! Love that site. I am going to stay under 1300 calories a day! Today is my first day! I can do this!! What are you doing for exercise? I am heading off now to do some taebo cardio!!! Going to try to do that atleast 3 times a week, and then something lighter like yoga or pilates atleast 2 days a week. You have already lost 4 lbs!! Way to go! That is awesome!!
Loywi1- I did WW points a couple years ago with great success...until I found out I was preggers! Surprise!! LOL, then I tried to rejoin the beginning of this year, but couldnt get to the meetings...my crazy life! I think it is a great program though. Lots of luck to you!!
Dontwant2bfat, thanks for your message! Actually the 4lb loss was before my mom died (I have not updated my signature). I just can't seem to get my eating under control. The problem is I LOVE food!! I love good food. I know if I just buckle down I can do it and I will feel great. I need to just do it. Maybe this forum will help.
As far as exercise I am trying to get up at least 3-4 mornings a week and walk. I know that I need to do more (weights and stuff) but I just can't find the time. I don't have the $$ for a gym membership but will just start with the walking. Thanks for the "cyber hug"! It is nice to know that people care!
Well, today is a new day! This morning I walked 2 miles , and now I am just trying to think of a food healthy breakfast.
Can anyone else who is counting calories give me some good ideas for food. I was eating 100 calorie soups for lunch most of the winter but now that it is summer soup is not a good lunch. Any help would be great!
Egg whites. They are 10 calories each and you can add onion and tomato to them scrambled and thet fill you up without using up all of your calories for the day.
For lunch I'll sometimes have some warm vegetable broth (you can use fat-free chicken broth, too) instead of soup. It doesn't seem too practical in the summer but I work in a very cold office so it's nice to warm up in the afternoon (I drink it like tea) and, again, only 10-15 calories (depends on the brand) and next to no fat.
Thanks for the food ideas! Today has been a good day. I have done pretty well with my eating and I have spent alot of time outside playing with the kids. I just need to keep this up.
