Default Help! Protein issue

hey you guys, i got a lil problem...i ate chicken for a month, go sick of it, then i ate tuna for a few weeks got sick of it...i was wondering if changing my protein to the vegetarian type, beans for instance as one protein and a shake as the other would be a bad idea, i guess do to the carbs in the beans?...i cant get fish here, unless its canned, i dont want ot eat red meats, and im sick of turkey, chicken and tuna...there is no egg substitute, just eggs, and your allowed 6 eggs a week...any ideas as to what i could be doing...btw the peanut butter doesnt work for me, i dont lose weight when i eat it as my protein, if i could i would, i love it...help!

What about gardenburgers? Edamame . . . Why can't you get fish there? Also-frozen meals are great for variety . . .

no garden burgers, no edemame...
i live in Poland, ever been here, its terrible for weight loss...no light product, no frozen meals, no gardenburgers or veggie hot dogs...all natural...and the fish i guess wherever the supply is from, maybe the baltic sea, is horrible, never seems fresh, and tastes like dirt...its strange...i really dont have many choices...mostly natural products and Kielbasa...haha, but cant have that

How much longer are you going to be in Poland? Nope-never been there-but my great-grandparents emigrated from there . . .they were embarassed to be polish-changed their name from Polanski to Plinsky . . .yeah-that'll fool people

Can you get ground turkey at least-to make taco meat, meatloaf etc. I try not to do too many beans-seems to slow down my weight loss. I treat them like red meat-only 1 or 2 times a week. But if you're doing the shakes-maybe it won't be too bad.

Wow-that sucks about the fish . . . .

Beans are always bad for me, too. I can't seem to lose on them. That may be due to my IBS problems too. I do love to cook chickpeas and make hummus. Can you get lite cheese ricotta or cottage cheese? Also, don't forget lunch meat, I use lowfat lunchmeat in a pita with cheese quite a bit. Also, as far as eggs, just use one whole egg, then toss the yolks and use two more whites. The whites are FF, so I do not count them toward the 6 a week limit.

thats not a bad idea...i can def get some turkey...im here another 4 wks, til summer break, but then i go back in october...i have 3 years left...im in my 3rd...its been tough doing the weight loss out here, im soo limited...i miss dressing, i try and make my own, balsamic and oil thats easy, and yogurt with dijon mustard, or just yogurt with salt for dipping...you know the food here is amazing if your not on a diet..they have an isle for cheeses and an isel for yogurt...all different cake types, spreads, dairy products are heavenly, and the cakes and pastries are devine...my only complaint is no light or ff products, except for skim milk, their ice cream sux, and the cookies dont compare...but still, for LAWL i have nothing...a lean cusine would be to die for right about now...anyway i have to make due of what i have

Default BORED with protein...

Aggie-I don't have the same issue as you because I have access to a lot of stuff BUT I'm kinda getting bored with the proteins that I am eating... We ate chicken all last week and I'm sick of eat. I'm down to eating red meat once a week and it's usually pork but I am getting bored am will try the Vegan protein choices soon. I love Indian food so, curried chick peas or lite dal is good for me, I suppose I could make lite Indian food (if such a thing exists) like, lamb curries and rogan ghosh and stuff like that. Using FF yogurt and no cream with LOTS of spice should help us kill the boredom! You can get recipes online - just adapt them to our plan. That's what I have to do and so far it's been ok... I make a LOT of different marinades for chicken so that I get something different every day.
Good Luck Girl!
